  1. Thats the one mate! :D Great little add on that, plug in your ipod or just stick loads of tunes onto a cheap USB stick & off you go :sorcerer:
  2. never listen to the radio in the car anymore! ipod integrated head units are where its at!! Richard - have you got media interface with your SLK?
  3. LOL! we still have a Mercedes ABS tester for vehicles from the 80's (124's, 201's, 126's) - looks even more outdated than that!! :D
  4. no - dont think there is anything at all! Mine came in a JWT box with all the paperwork from Courtesy Nissan so know its ok LOL! Certainly looks the same as mine :)
  5. a good filter IMO - JWT are a well known USA tuning company for zeds, the filter is basically a K&N filter with JWT's own "venturi" design adapter plate. Had mine for years :)
  6. click here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/jwt-pop-charger-air-filter-for-1990-1996-300zx-p-227601.html?cPath=882_5894&
  7. Looks like a JWT with the venturi intake on the MAF ;) I have one & a really popular filter in the states :)
  8. I have used this one: http://www.dayinsure.com/ I think most day poicies are far more expensive than they used to be so dont know how much it would be now days - used to be about a tenner but dont suppose it is that cheap any more LOL!
  9. clearly the clutch is holding 3 years on!!:lol:
  10. LOL! dont start with the brake debate again!! AP are a much more well known racing brake manufacturer than Brembo however. Still well happy with my Brembo's :)
  11. seems odd that you would want to do this to tidy it up then have that ducting in view  up to you & if you like it then thats all that counts :flowers:
  12. probably a poor seal at one of the fuel hoses - go around the engine bay tightening all hose clips & checking for perished fuel hoses - there is a small one at the rear under the centre engine plate that covers the throttle linkage - remove the cover for access :)
  13. before you get too involved just check the rubber boot under the gearshift gaitor for splits - they tend to split & only open up in a certain direction causing noise transmission in certain gears!
  14. thats bloody mental!! sod eating that! LOL!!
  15. Cant help with the above but I still have a set of spark plugs for one of these - cost me about £60 IIRC that I bought for my mates car - he wrote it off just after & I never had the heart to charge him LOL! Let me know if you need a set of plugs! :)
  16. LOL! I think when I saw the Mercedes SLS it was £1400 for the first year!!
  17. I would pretty much agree with that  There are going to be owners that have no real problems but there are loads that have major expensive ones. they are getting to the point now where they can just be uneconomical to repair & go to that great car scrapyard in the sky! :hang:
  18. Happy Birthday bud :pint:
  19. I just made new holes for the blue clips in the tailgate - fits nice & snug without the need to bond it on :)
  20. yea - really was a fantastic day out! Kids all loved it too! :cool3:
  21. At this place: Go Ape  http://goape.co.uk/sites/leeds-castle Went to the Maidstone one in Leeds Castle - bloody brilliant day out! Climbing through the tree tops along rope bridges & down zip wires - cant recommend it enough. Loads of sites around the UK
  22. LOL! the "elk" test was a long time ago & has never been an issue on the road with vehicles losing control!! I work for Mercedes & would never own one - get a Golf! If you really are set on one then things to watch out for: forget about the auto or semi auto versions - prone to expensive failure the petrol version is prone to the MAF failing which is built into the engine ECU - over £1k for a new one, there are companies that will rebuild your old unit however. diesel versions can have problems with the injectors - another pricey repair, they are also a pain to get out. if the cluch goes its complete engine & transmission out to replace. starter motor faults are common - engine & box need lowering to access. suspension faults are common - anti roll bar links wear, springs break, rear radius arm bearings wear. have also seen timing chains break on petrol versions - not common but can destroy the engine. not really a cheap car to maintain when things do go wrong, not overly a nice car to drive either IMO. As said, if you want a car this size then I would get a Golf (in fact - i did, our other car is a mk v Golf) :scooter: If I havnt put you off by now & you want any more info then let me know :)
  23. had pretty much identical results as Yowser with my car - checked with a G Tech pro meter. stock time was closer to 6 seconds with mine from memory. 4.7 after mods was the best time I have ever seen. not tried it for a while & have some new bits - may have to try again one day LOL :devil2:
