  2. yes, you can get a "pet lens" which goes over the PIR. you can also mask over the lower half of the lens, or as mentioned, wire up 2 PIR's.

  4. I agree that any form of tuning is going to cause wear on components, but then again, so does any driving you may do anyway!! all im saying is i dont believe that upping the boost a little was the primary cause of your gearbox/turbo faults within 1 month ;)
  5. you cant!! in the same way you cant say upping the boost pressure slightly caused them to fail. (you didnt run at like 3 bar did you?? :D LOL!!)

  8. last time i spoke to him, he was doing a pair of hybrids for £1k (plus fitting of course :) ) IIRC
  9. not being funny or anything, but how do you know they wernt on the way out anyway?!!? ;) many on here are running higher boost (me included) without probs. hope you get yours sorted :)
  10. dont go with the superchips IMO, get either the JWT or SE.
  11. as said, tyres do perish with age, dunplops used to be the worst for this iirc. as long as the're not down to the cords you should be ok. just keep an eye on them to make sure they dont get any worse
  12. after approx 10 secs after putting the phone down to Mike Feeney today, the car was in the air, air tools a buzzin' & the car is now stripped ready for my new front end & rear suspension!!!! :D the cars booked in at the bodyshop on monday & it seems all's going well at last. bit of a relief as when i ordered the parts, 1/2 of them went back order to Japan with a 6-8 week wait!! :eek: update over!! :D
  13. oh & if it goes wrong you wont be able to start the car in P or N
  14. Unless they've changed the terminology on these cars, the inhibitor switch is what stops you from starting the car in gear ;)

  21. sounds about right - i can stretch it to about 160-170 miles if i drive sensible - more again on a motorway cruise
