  1. i would deffo complain. i got pulled over years ago by a couple of cops, i had done nothing wrong it it was just a "spot check" (yeah right, harrassment more like  ). i was polite & courteous but these 2 were just arseholes, sh!tty attitude & just damn rude  i had a couple of witnesses in the car & sent a letter of complaint in, it went to the cheif constable for my area, he sent a very sincere apologetic letter to me & the 2 twats got a warning with a mark on their records! :D so i would deffo complain, you shouldnt have to tolerate attitude like that from anyone

Positive Crankcase Ventilation. they allow the fumes & pressure that build up in the crankcase in the form of combustion blow by gasses to be vented back into the intake. they are cheap & easy to fit & are recommended to be replaced at the 60k service
  7. get the PCV valves & hoses to do when the service is done then ;)
  8. could be (in order of expense): air lock where youve drained & filled the cooling system thermostat stuck water pump impellor broken off (never seen it on a zed, but seen it on other cars) head gaskets :( (a cyl leakage test, or a chemical "head check" test kit may help to confirm this)
  9. have you replace your PCV valves & hoses recently?
  10. i said it would be a possibility & not a good idea for a road car ;)
  11. any well maintained car should have no probs, but most of these cars are 10yrs + now. check the obvious that you can see, lights, wipers, tyres, seatbelts etc. rear hicas arms/bushes can wear which could be a failure, as can front tension rod bushes. stock exhausts can corrode through make sure the shocks arnt weak/leaking HTH & good luck :)
  12. dunno if the zed does it (prob does), but most cars with climate also use recirc automatically when the temp selector is set to its lowest, so it only cools the already cooled air in the car, rather than outside air at ambient temp :) [/useless info]
  13. those piccies look familiar ;) iv got a couple of people interested, not been able to get hold of the guy that does them, he was meant to be getting back to me. ill try to contact him again :)
  14. fantastic work john. will be interesting to see results on a dyno :)

  19. you can test the O2 sensors by putting the ECU into diag mode 2, or with a conzult
  20. no it doesnt!! the engine is very inefficient at idle!!
  21. ooh, a X pack Capri body kit!! :D
  22. make sure its adjusted correctly (nice & tight) then wrap some insulation tape around the metal catch on the tailgate :)
  23. Done plenty of bonded screens, easy when you know how, but the 1st time can be daunting!! you do need special tools, we have an air operated tool, tho you can get away with serrated "cheese wire"
