  1. Fitted mine myself tho vehicle tech as a living lol! Never turned mine right off, just varied the slip depending on conditions! 20% slip with the setup I had was more than enough fun lol!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It's not too bad if you are ok with electrics. Power and earth to unit. Wires run to ABS control unit to splice in for wheel speed signals. Cut all injector wires at engine ecu and solder in wires to traction unit. Run wires and fit in car adjuster control. Think that's about it IIRC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Not cheap but if you want a system that actually works then it's pretty much the best you can get. Got mine years ago on a group buy and was worth every penny IMO Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Honestly, it really does enhance the driving experience rather than hinder it like many manufacturers systems. Well worth it and have never heard. Bad word from people that actually have it fitted.
  5. Saw this ages ago pre launch, really don't like it lol! And the option of kitting out the back in walnut or whatever makes it loom like a hurst for dwarves! Possibly the most pointless car in mercs range at the mo (apart from the horrible GLK which thankfully we don't get in the uk) none of the advantage of an estate and ruined the lines of a "coupe"
  6. Racelogic Traction Control is probably the best and well known aftermarket traction system. I had it on my old car and it was without doubt the best mod I ever done! The system itself is hugely customisable for how you want it with easy to adjust software You can then get an in car adjuster to tweak while driving giving variable slip rates (fun rates! :D ) Also available with launch control (bit gimiky IMO - tried it & didnt care much for it so didnt bother on my car) and full throttle shift option (hitting the clutch kills the revs but allows you to keep the throttle wide open for no turbo lag between shifts) Anyone that has ever said TC is for people that cant drive & takes the fun out of driving has never owned a system like this! It was designed for track cars and is performance enhancing as well as giving a better dgree of safety especially in wet conditions! Shame the new owner of my car clearly thought the "off" function was more fun........only for a short while however!
  7. Not ever! Lol! Not in most peoples eyes (apart from Z32 owners lol). It was never a real "supercar" IMO. No real bad thing as if it was then most of us would never afford one even now! It was a fantastic car and still is IMO. But think of what was out and classed as a supercar back then..contach then diablo, testarossa, F40, F50, mclaren F1 etc Still, nice do dream! :D
  8. If you have a degree or two more neg camber on the drivers side then this will deffo be the cause, that's a massive amount lol! I would suggest no more than around 20' (mins) of more neg camber on the left, maybe even less to start with if poss. I set my car up fairly even and it drove spot on! Some cars do react differently and it can be a touch trial and error, maybe just try 10' more to start with and go from there, if you have as you say a degree or more on the drivers side then this will "push" the front of the car to the left
  9. Caster angle is the self centering effect of the wheels and is the least likely of all suspension settings to cause pulling Camber has the biggest effect followed by track, especially incorrect rear toe is set off centre Ideally front camber should have a slightly more neg camber on the n/s than the o/s to negate pulling to the left. All cars will naturally try to drift to the left slightly due to road camber and this will help reduce this To adjust front caster you will need adjustable tension rods, to adjust front camber you need adjustable upper arms or a shim kit Rear toe & camber has adjustment as standard HTH
  10. Just buy my Mongoose of my old zed currently being raped right now Lol
  11. Would it not be an idea to get a known LWB version and get a exhaust fabricator to use that as a base to modify to a SWB version or is the difference too large? Never really looked lol! Just a thought
  12. Please stop posting these threads!!! Lol! Front bumper was original Nissan as well as the rear lights, rear spoiler was copy from Luke at Z Centre
  13. I cried over my old one, does that count?!
  14. Lovely looking car, take care of her and please don't crash her :crying:
  15. Glad the owner is ok though and what happened to the traction control! Lol! Have always said that RLTC is the best mod ever on a zed, I'm guessing it was off or set for too much slip?!
  16. Funnily enough my girlfriends sat next to me and just said the same! Thanks Si for alerting me to this. Next time STFU lol! Sooooooo gutted even though it's not mine it was very much my own creation! :crying:
  17. OMFG!!!! :crying::crying::crying:
  18. I don't think so, the other driver is insured and the insurance company are the ones that settle the claim and the policies always clearly state that only current market value will be paid out. Think about it logically, I know it's a real shame for someone that has finance but if everyone had new cars on finance and 3 years later the car was a write off if the insurance co had to pay out for a brand new car each time our premiums would be sky high to cover this! There is a policy called Gap insurance and it is down the the purchaser to decide if he wants to take this out or not to protect the difference in value
  19. Sorry to see and hear this and glad your wife is ok As Lexx says above you will only get market value on the car and it is always advisable for financed cars to get Gap insurance, this is a separate policy that pays the difference between the current value and your finance value Soz!
  20. That's fine mate, as long as you walk around the car in the right way and remember to shake the wheels in the correct way, jacked up on deck etc then you will be fine! They don't even really look at what you are testing and if the pass or fail decision is right most of the time, just how you follow procedure lol Oh and they do like to ask a few questions, reasons for refusal to carry out a test is a popular one lol!
  21. It used to be a one day course when I done mine years ago, can't believe it's been stretched to 3 days now!!
  22. Lol! Yup, is a bloody awful course! It wouldn't be so bad if vosa regulations weren't so bloody out of date and the fact they can never make their mind up how to test. Get 2 vosa reps and get 2 different opinions lol The complete testers guide needs scrapping and restarting IMO Seatbelt, nightmare, emissions, nightmare too many date of reg dependent changes, unclear test procedures, some crazy rulings such as have a slightly incorrect font on a number plate and instant failure, however have a different reg front to rear and you have to pass and ask what reg you would like to use sir lol I could go on and on!
  23. Hmmmm :shifty: an imposter lol!
  24. Found my lack of power solution! http://www.cksperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=27_78_47_146_731&products_id=16593 Shame it costs more than the car lol! Had a customer with this fitted once and it does go well!!
