Anyone for a meet this Saturday (30th May)?
I have to say the travelling / driving bit sounds brilliant, but watching motor racing trackside does not do it for me. I would be permanently glued to the bar, or the bed sleeping it off. Thanks for the offer tho' Lisa.;)

Anyone for a meet this Saturday (30th May)?
Sadly my car will not be ready. I am waiting for my main beam HID kit to arrive for the MoT, which now cannot be done this week. A great shame as I also have a new chip from JD which has a similar map to James's and really sorts my Zed out. I was looking forward to a blast say down to Exeter, Exmouth or somewhere that way. Its been a long time.

Front fog lamps
What a player, many thanks. I thought I was in the footwell hide and seek game there for a minute.

refitting rad
Its is always best if possible to have the front of the car higher than the back, this encourages any air in the system to rise to the radiator filler. Take it steady and keep filling allowing it to settle in between. There is a bleed screw on the left side of the radiator with a large crosshead screw in it, remove whilst filling . Start car, run briefly say 3 or 3 minutes turn off and slowly remove the rad cap. repeat until it takes no more. Also make sure the heater is on maximum temp to open the valve to the mattrix.

Front fog lamps
Anyone know which fuse covers the front fog lamps, I have obviously blown mine during a bulb change and now they both do not work. I trust its in the footwell box as well, that is why I am asking.

300z front tie rods help
Nice bits although the tierods look a bit undersize. The Zed is a heavy car and puts a lot of weight and pressure on the front suspension. Compare the size of the shaft on your new tierods with the size of the shaft on the old bushed type, if there is a difference, you experience a failure.

Engine Cooling/Electric fan question
Defintely the shroud, as it directs the draw from the fan through the radiator.

Anyone for a meet this Saturday (30th May)?
You mean the Riverside Inn. Good food (and I mean good) and a great pub. Small car park but there is a public one next door, pay and display which has the Police Station carpark entrance off at the corner because the station is next door. They are on the ball and will pick you up on any rubbish activity or non legal car gear. Be warned. what time then gents ?

My Jap Import was supplied new without cruise control. I have another Jap Import which I am breaking with a working cruise control. How easy is it to swap it over. Has anyone done this before.?

front indicator bulbs
Do you means the pins. Some are offset, i.e. one low and one slightly higher which has 2 contacts on the bottom of the bulb, and the other type has the pins at 20 past 8 sortoff and only a single contact. The latter is the modern days version and found fitted to Citreon. Renault etc. the first ones are absolutely buggers to get hold of but I do know a source if your desperate. Let me know.

smell of fumes when driving with the tops off?
It is usually a sign that the engine is breathing a bit due to wear. I had this and only when the targas were off. When the engine was overhauled it stopped.

We need to sell our Zeds....
I sold a load of Zed parts to a guy in South Africa and he was keen that I under valued them on the customs declaration as apparently the cost of importing parts (import duty) is very expensive. I expect the same applies to vehicles and thus the high prices.

Timing belt adjustment by Zedworld?
I don't know what year the car is but with the sound of it the belt and other bits have been on it since new, so they are 15 to 20 years old. Nothing lasts forever !! and if as Jummer says, the idler seizes, then it will not just be this that will require replacing.

raw food for dogs
He is probably a bit young for any sort of red meat which is always too rich anyway for most dogs. We used to have English Mastiffs and they were always fed raw tripe mixed with a good mixer and cod liver oil. They were fit and healthy and their breath was always sweet. If in doubt talk to a vet or ring the PDSA vet.

Japfest Convoy
Blimey, it's going to be a long wet / cold day if the forecasts are right. I am not going this year due to the car being currently rebuilt bodily and I shall be spending part of saturday at the bodyshop re-fitting the turbo boost pipework and intercoolers. Have a good day chaps and chapesses. Any ladies going ?

sad
This is a common problem with a Zed, a love hate relationship due to the ongoing support a Zed needs. It can be absolutely fantastic one minute and the pits the next when things go wrong. I'm on my third and everty time I say enough is enough, and sell up, but I always end up buying another. WHY ? they are money pits...............but what a great car and for so little money. Be happy with what you got I say, and don't keep striving for the ultimate Zed experience. Go for reliability over performance, its a much cheaper option. What other car has the looks and the performance of a standard Zed, at the same money ???

Warning Do not ignore clunking noises
A common problem now that manufacturers have done away with grease nipples on these joints although letting it get to this state is a bit silly. This is where servicing by proper mechanics would pay off as they would be aware of the potential failure and check them out when being serviced.

Car not starting
Why not disconnect the battery when you arrive at work or get home at night, and then re-connect when you want to start it just to see if there is any difference, i.e., the battery staying charged or still being discharged. At least then you will know you have something draing the battery whilst its parked. If all OK and if you thinks it the alarm, take the fuse out during your time at work and see if the battery remains charged. If not then you have something else remaining on such as the boot light.

Are parts getting more expensive!!!???

Intercooler pipes...taking them out
How the hell do you get the metal pipes from the intercooler that tuck through the aperture by the radiator.......out. They have a mounting bracket on both ends. Do they come out without removing the anti roll bar.?
