  1. Hi Dave, Its still black but now with a 99 spec front end, I am pleased with the repair and can certainly recommend the bodyshop who did it.I have taken some quick potos but not what I call 'proper jobs' and have thus not posted them up. I had a running issue which was beginning to wind me up and turned out to be a faulty chip. Thats now behind me and of course a new clutch in place has refreshed my enthusiasm, it can be driven properly. If the weather picks up a decent photo session will be the order of the day and an update of my rides. I'm sorry to see you selling up Dave, but I can appreciate what money pits these cars are, plus the added pressure of the taxman.
  2. Hi Pete, a bit dissappointing actually as I wanted a RPS Max which was originally fitted to my car and was a bit heavy but great function. Getting one these days is not easy, believe me. Since then I have had 2 clutches, both were rubbish and lasted less then 3-4000 miles. The 1st was a Z1Motorsport track clutch and the second was an ACT road racing clutch. I have now got an Exedy clutch which is supposed to have additional lining fibre to alleviate the heat and lessen the chance of slippage..........we will see. Personally I would get an RPS from the States or go for a paddle clutch, speak to Jimmer his has been great but does feel different to a normal one.
  3. I'm a pensioner so it will get run in, no probs.I will only be putting 21 psi through on the odd occassion not all the time, 15 to 18 is enough for me, above that and my pension book starts screaming because of the fuel I am using.:)
  4. At last its done, Jimmer managed to squeeze me in and do my clutch yesterday. I have had the boost turned right down to try and stop it slipping and been driving like a one legged, one eyed vicar. Boring, boring. Now......its 'turn up the volume' well actually its the boost I turned up and typically I left Jimmer in bright sunshine and with in 5 minutes it started raining, @#+*&$%. drove home like a one legged one eyed vicar. The weather forecast for the weekend is looking OK so a quick burst with 21 psi being applied will be the order of the day which will hopefully blow away my dog collar. Thanks Jimmer, sorry about the soldering.:hyper:
  5. ??::(
  6. No the lights don't come on. When I turn the lights on (side or head, they are sequenced) my aeriel is activated
  7. Actually Pete she's called Bitch.:)
  8. My car started doing this coincidally after the fitment of a Profec-B boost controller, which I thought was down to a hiccup in the wiring up of this piece of kit. However after disconnecting it from its power source, I still have the problem. any ideas chaps ??
  9. I'm changing mine shortly Murty, do you want the old one, it's only done about 3000 miles and only slips when I turn the boost up to 20 psi.:)
  10. Just a quick check matey, clean the connection on the water temp sensor which also controls your electric fan, if this is dirty or the sensor has failed, it gives the symptons you are experiencing.(Its the left hand sensor in the water pipe coming out of the front of the block)

You know where I am Murty.;)
  12. They are quite rare these days the 4x4 versions and quite desirable. Did the customisation bits give you any ideas for the zed Si.
  13. I have a Momo gearknob which screws on like the original, £12 posted.
  14. Can you imagine the cost of panels on the rear of this car, so many complex shapes it would make it difficult to repair. Somehow Citroen and sports don't go together in my mind but you can't rule it out. No doubt more piccies will turn up in the motoring press. I still think its a good looker despite the rear end.
  15. Sorry if this has been posted before but I think this looks fantastic. No mechanical info available and if the sound is genuine.....it could be a cracker. What do you think.
  16. Hi Stu, I don't think its down to age but whether it has been regassed since arriving in the UK. The Jap adaptors require to be converted to the European style. I would re-iterate what someone else has said about kwik fit....a bunch of tossers. Have a scout round for a proper garage.
  17. Surely the dipstick is wet when there is oil on it and dry when there is none, the colour won't change that.
  18. From my experience, you will need an industrial/garage type compressor to do tests for boost leaks, the DIY jobbers are not up to maintaining a decent pressure to trace a leak.
  19. You are lucky Si where you are now living, on the edge of the Quantocks. The roads and the scenery around there is stunning. I was down there last night on the A39 all the way down to Porlock for a meal in a pub. What superb scenery and great sweeping roads, sadly marred by shed loads of double white lines. Not in the Zed tho', fan switch has become defunct, how timely is that, in a heatwave !!
  20. You know what it's like here Lisa, unless it's on the doorstep and free beer, your wasting your time.
  21. I agree with the brake part of this but if an engine is sound, the ring should prove any problem. I have thrashed mine around various circuits without any problems but I agree with doing a compression test. If you have some low compressions, don't take it around the ring, that would be asking for trouble especially as recovery by the circuits own people is EXPENSIVE.
  22. Any news on this as we seem to have some interest, at last.:)
  23. This is always a laugh mainly at the other exhibits and as dave (wow300) states the weather has always been good. sadly I have missed the deadline and don't see any point in going to the show and being parked with the chavs. Perhaps next time.:(
  24. Sadly that what puts most people off. They are full of saxo's and corsa's in various states of self abuse. You most certainly would not want to be anywhere near them with a Zed.
  25. Is this a 'new' problem or something that has existed since you took ownership of the car, or perhaps had some repairs carried out. I cannot understand how things could be missing if it was running OK before. If the recircs are siezed (unlikely) then you would experience problems.
