  1. Are you putting turbos on a NA block?
  2. Its started to get to that time of year again, Zeds will come out of hibenation, car covers will be removed and paint will gleam! Im planning the first south area meeting of 2022 and as we didnt manage to do this route last year, I've dug it out of the mental filing cabinet and dusted it off! The route would be Folkestone in Kent to the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex. The route takes in some A roads and B roads. The route is 72 miles and should take around 2.5 hours with a short stop at Dungeness. Ashdown Forest is very nice and great for a picnic, walks and photos. We will meet at the Harbour Arm car park in folkestone at 10:00 with the aim to get away by 10:30. We will follow the coast line west to Dungeness Nuclear Power station. Then turn inland at Rye and cut across the Kent/Sussex weald to the Ashdown Forest. Let me know if you are able to come!
  3. Delorean you say......sorry......just why are you bothering with paint? ?
  4. At least they are the same thing....imagine how expensive it would be if you had one of each!
  5. Where is this?
  6. This is what I want mine to look like. Andrew please tell me more about the brakes. I wish to have bigger/better brakes on my car but retain the stock wheels....
  7. Thats a shame, its going to be a good trip
  8. Happy birthday Richard!
  9. Why not just buy a T-Top?!
  10. It's an app called fuelio. It's on the play store. I assume they have "an fruit uPhone" version but I use the magic green robot. It breaks down the costs even more than my screenshot, you get graphs and everything!
  11. I wouldn't class cambelt and clutch as annual maintenance. But if you did you need to divide the cost by the amount of years that the belt and clutch last. So let's say the belt was £400/7 years = £57/year. Clutch was £300/7years = £42/year. Disc&pads £180/4years £45/year. That's £144 plus an annual service (£200) plus a bit more for "other", it's not far off, I am of course completely making up these numbers! As for tax/MOT/insurance....is that actual maintenance or running costs? I put everything in my app (service, MOT, tax, fuel, cambelt, if it costs the car money, it's added in the app). Last year was expensive as the car had EVERYTHING done to it, including some paint correction, but here is a screenshot of my summary of ownership so far The longer I own the car, the cheaper it will work out of course, but I won't show the wife this! I should also point out that car cleaning products don't get added and I have a lot of them. It was too hard to work out the split finances as all the products get used across three cars and in different amounts (the TT is smaller than the Zed, but the legacy is bigger) so there is technically another expense there. oh and yes I am sad! ?
  12. Nothing wrong with taking photos of the car! Yesterday, mine got run up to the paint guy I use to have a few more touch up bits done including wiper arms, scuttle, etc. I've really missed driving it, haven't driven it since November really, jumped in it and straight away had a massive, stupid grin on my face!
  13. I read this article a while ago. They are cheap to maintain. Its just when things go wrong it starts to add up!
  14. I've already bank transferred the £850 for the HID headlights... Delivery expected on Tuesday.... So excited!
  15. Two in Japan at the moment: White, TT, Auto: https://auctions.jdmauctionwatch.com/aj-2vsa960nX8IjHqw.htm Red/Orange, NA, Auto https://auctions.jdmauctionwatch.com/aj-25odGfWU9rN4QF3.htm
  16. Brake and fuel pipes can be bent to shape from normal copper or steel pipe. Get the same diameter and a bending tool. My mechanic has done it a few times for my previous cars. Copper can be bent by hand (although not accurately and may pinch the tube), steel is a bit harder and needs a tool. Pipe is cheap on ebay. The pain in the arse is getting up and around the top of the fuel tank. Removing said tank does make it easier as we found out!
  17. On my last Zed I bought some TEIN VSN22-C1SS3 FLEX Z COILOVERS from driftworks. They were really good. Driftworks even set them up for me. It was lowered about the same that you are asking for, but kept all the suspension and drop links stock. Made such a difference to the ride and handling too.
  18. Didn't they ban that advert?
  19. Yes I have this stored in the garage. When would you like to collect? Thanks
  20. It does sound like that is the root of your problems. No fuel in chamber would cause ignition error and knocking and then the bank would run lean. Connectors have a habit of going brittle and cracking. Might be worth replacing the pigtails for injectors and plugs. I had no idea about OBDII on 'murica zeds, you learn something everyday. Thank you!
  21. If you can buy one of these: I got mine from eBay years ago with a usb cable. It was a bout £14. I was warned about the cheap ones, but so far it hasn't let me down.... Then you can download either: Nissan Datascan I (http://www.nissandatascan.com/) Conzult (https://conzult.com/) These have free versions that are limited or pay for the full version. Both have their pros and cons, but both allow for free reading/clearing of codes. You then hook the reader up the usb, then on to your laptop. Open up your software of choice and read the codes! Failing that, you can read the codes like this (but is more of a faff and is easier with a friend in the passenger footwell): https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/ECU_Diagnostics
