  1. Don't forget the z club meet on first Sunday of the month at halfway house A127. I went this month, bit quiet but most Zeds are only just coming out of hibernation. Bring on the summer! :thumbup1:
  2. ooh I spent many a night down Southend seafront, getting up to all sorts :whistling: not much goes on there anymore, it's all changed. Bug an essex meet would be great:yes:
  3. All done, cheers chaps.
  4. Having a blonde moment here, how do I re subscribe? :whistling:
  5. Unfortunately i can't make tomorrow now, just not possible with kids etc. sorry chaps.
  6. Bad info, the crap if moved to the sump will begin to block pump pick up screen, and begin reducing oil flow and pressure, that's the whole point, and the oil doesn't goto straight to the filter, it goes via the pump first, so any crap which makes it past the pick up screen hits the pump! nice.
  7. I would happily leave it in there if its causing no problems, the point I'm trying to make is flushing rairly "flushes" out the crap, it just moves it where it "can" sometimes cause more harm than good. As I keep saying this is my opinion and have seen enough flushes cause problems for me to believe its a risk not worth taking, but each to their own as I have said. I think it's important people understand the risks involved so they make informed decisions.
  8. Mostly cars, but yes many tractors/earthmovers/HGV. Can you honestly say you have never pulled a sump after draining and found a fair amount of oil still in there holding the crap?
  9. I'm looking for a early stock front bumper for TT. Must be in perfect condition. No cracks/damage. Colour not important just quality. Cheers
  10. Will make no difference, crap will remain. pull a sump after its drained overnight and amaze yourself with the crap and oil left behind. :thumbup1:
  11. IMHO if flushing removes any crap/sludge it can only go one direction, into the sump where it WILL consequently cause more problems blocking pump pick up screen etc. it only moves the crap from one place to another. draining oil in most engines leaves a fair bit behind including the crap. as said each to their own, but I have had to repair many engines after flushing.
  12. I'm glad for you tony but IMHO it's not a "fix" but everyone has to do what they believe to be correct.
  13. Lifter treatment waste of time and money mate, as is most oil and fuel additives, and unless a significant leak is present on say a oil cooler line or turbo feed, no visible oil leak will cause a pressure drop. :thumbup1:
  14. And never never use cheap oil or filters, lubrication is critical to an engines performance and lifespan, don't cut corners here. I see so many avoidable engine issues. all for the sake of a regular oil change.
  15. If a constant ticking noise is present then there is an issue that needs investigating, of course carry out oil service, but if it was only done recent then I wouldn't expect to see an improvement, it's most likely cause is cam followers, worn cam journals or crank/big end bearings worn, or oil pump getting lazy, in short find the issue and fix it ASAP.
  16. I personally don't like engine flush, had many many problems with engines after using flushing additives. But each to their own.
  17. At the bar will do nicely :thumbup1:
  18. There is ALWAYS a way of telling if a car is straight, u just have to look closely at it, there's always clues to previous repairs or accidents without removing panels or getting up on ramps.
  19. Was at the ace cafe just 2 weeks ago. drove home through the city at 1am, still got stuck in traffic
  20. I'm up for this, any excuse for a zed day, fingers crossed for sunshine.
