  1. Good luck with the search mate, your story is similar to my own, owned a zed when I couldn't really afford it years ago, so I sold it, grew up a fair bit over the next few years and got that zed itch a while back and bought my current zed. It's not a daily, kept garaged, and gets all the maintenance and love she deserves.
  2. Personally I don't like tattoos, and this is just weird.....:xxx:
  3. Firstly as your working in a car with 12v dc you don't have live or earth, simply + or -, that out of the way, on the stalk switch mounted around the top of the steering column you will find a spring loaded pin which contacts on the back side of the steering wheel boss, then this pick up ring is wired via the horn push switch to the hub of the boss creating a - path through the column when pressed.
  4. I bought my cusco one on fleabay unopened for £20 :tt2:
  5. The hydraulic tensioner keeps the whole set up in check, you must take into account the age of components on these cars now, not just the mileage, if you really cannot afford all the parts now I would wait and save up until you can, but honestly these cars as do many others are a constant financial drain, but I truthfully enjoy every penny I spend on my zed, I don't see it as a drain, more of a love affair.....
  6. I understand you have a budget mate, but I do cam belts every day and I would never not replace any rotating part associated with the belt regardless of how ok they seem. Save your money and do the job correctly from the start, it pays in the long term :thumbup1:
  7. But we're all the components replaced at 60k? FOR SURE?
  8. Welcome to the world of owning a Z32, your not paying labour so just buy the COMPLETE kit and do the job properly mate, it's the ONLY way.
  9. Your a fool if you don't.....
  10. Have u not replaced all the guide pulleys and tensioner? No new water pump?
  11. I'll be there, hopefully a convoy down like last year will happen too. 1. Stephen/Z32bolt 2. Andrew/AndrewG 3. Scott/sdriver73 4. Simon/Mondo 5. Gary/GSC60 6. Simon/Funkysi 7. Richard (and Julia)/RichardSmith 8.chris/chrisbasildon
  12. Another year gone..... Where does time go?
  13. fair enough russ, but if something did find it's way into your suitcase like say........99 spec manual shift knob with red stitch, I would probably love you forever :innocent: Have fun mate! And await pictures.
  14. Cheers guys, I think I will do it while it's new, As said Resiblock brand seems to be the leader having their product used in such places as disneyworld means it's good enough for me to park my zed on when it's out of the garage.
  15. It is hard to maintain a good rep as a garage, despite all your best efforts to explain things about the way cars work to customers some will always go away feeling ripped off that you have charged them a sum of money to repair their car(which most people despise spending money on). For example things like timing belt replacements, most manufactures do not advise replacing timing belt driven water pumps during a timing belt change, but seriously the water pump bearings have done the same work as the rest of the rotating parts whilst holding back coolant under pressure, who wouldn't replace it while changing the timing belt, but some customers will go away and explain this to friends as "they told me I needed a new water pump too" the same customer who would happily return fuming if the water pump failed after the timing belt was replaced because we didn't replace it..... We have one policy at my garage, be honest and be informative, we always try our best to explain why we suggest the things we do. As with many trades there are people who should just not be trading the way they do, leave it to the people who are prepared to do an honest job for an honest pay.
  16. It is a lovely gearbox agreed, and agree the weighted stock shift is the only one to have,I just want a red stitched one......
  17. I'm having all my driveway dug up and new paving laid next week, I'm considering using a urethane matt finish sealant as soon as it's laid before it gets dirty or weathered, just curious to know any thoughts from anyone who has used such a sealer, would use the Resiblock brand as it seems to be the market leader for this type of sealer.
  18. By far the worst design is the standard manual gearbox which is shifted by 2 crap windscreen wiper motors and a stupid worthless clutch pump as found on the fiesta for example, stupid stupid cars
  19. HID is fine, no self levelling or washing is required, just a correctly set level that's it, even the left to right aim is removed now.
  20. They simply will not work on any other car!
  21. Si you have the wrong tyres fitted to your zed mate.....:tt2:
  22. I nearly always here a couple arguing over something when I'm out shopping and I think to myself how glad I am that I don't have to deal with that emotional crap anymore, I feel I've become to selfish now to play my part in a relationship, I have a busy job, 2 great kids and my zed, and that's just how I like it. I have officially gone :offtopic:
  23. I second that! I became single less than a year after buying my zed,
  24. Are your front position lamps and dash bulbs illuminating when you switch on your lights to the first position?
