  1. Hope you didn't apply that theory whilst replacing your timing belt :whistling:
  2. NA has higher compression mate
  3. Yes, but if your aiming for 650hp your likely going to change them anyway, when I TT mine I'm using my NA engine, same blocks and cranks as TT, NA has better oil squirters fitted already, pistons and rods will be replaced anyway, you can use NA heads for a TT setup but valves will need swapping and ports are different but it will work. Depends on your overall build really mate.
  4. If your going fully rebuilt mate even a NA would suit?
  5. Unless it's a later model.
  6. Personally I think a larger thicker radiator is of more benefit than changing to electric fans etc, I think there are too many variables to consider to actually reliably measure any improvement in cooling efficiency. I think there becomes a point at which it wouldn't matter how good the fan was at pulling air through the rad, a rad of any given size only has so much surface area exposed to the cooling airflow going through it, increase surface area and you will increase it's ability to cool. Its the reason intercooler upgrades work and they don't use fans at all they just increase the surface area. A fully working stock setup is adequate for everyday use I would say.
  7. Stephen, out of interest what reason for rejection was printed on your mot to apply to this mythical fail of the fog light not being bright enough? It always amazes me what mot testers use to cover things which THEY think are failures.
  8. nowhere in the test manual does it state the brightness of any light, he has just said that off his own back mate, this is what annoys me. see the above table in reasons for rejection and find one for fog light not being as bright as a brake light.
  9. Stephen, I'm a mot tester and I can assure you that there is no requirement in the mot to test the level of any light emitted from any of the cars lights, we do not possess light meters so who can say "it's not bright enough to be a fog light" if your tester is saying this ask him to show you in the mot test a reason for rejection based on how bright your fog light is.... He won't because it isn't there mate. It upsets me when mot testers simply do not follow the rules and make up there own drivvle on what is and isn't a failure. I'll attach a pic of the test manual to clarify mate.
  10. Saw this today....please explain.....
  11. Received my pass Joel. thanks for your efforts in organising this. :thumbup1:
  12. Same system here, fitted by me with remote boot release. trouble free from day 1.
  13. Just don't connect any wiring to the airbag itself, the squib (detonator) and the centre pad of the steering wheel is a sealed unit. Most modern airbag systems (not sure on the z32) have a small gold contact which shorts the pins in the airbag connector once the multiplug is disconnected (well done AndrewG) to remove any chance of accidental detonation. Mot regs are simple If the SRS warning lamp is illuminated to indicate a fault it is a failure But if the SRS warning light fails to illuminate it is a pass and advise, weird I know but there you go. :thumbup1: So just be sure to leave airbag disconnected and remove warning lamp from cluster.
  14. Can I have a look at the breakfast menu before I book a room please?
