  1. I wish, but it's on the same day as my birthday....no getting out of that one!
  2. She paid for Norway and is paying for Portugal! Don't want to get in her way!
  3. No with her bloody dogs and horses! LOL
  4. She'll be getting a one way ticket to the other side of the world at this rate!
  5. Jimmer's helping me with some of it. But most of it is just hours I need to put in. I quite enjoy doing it. It's just a slow process as I want everything to be right first time so that I don't have to pull it apart again to add more stuff or fix something. Want it to all be fitted and have that BMW door clunk and sound quality from the stereo, want that perfect stance.
  6. Unfortunately I booked/paid for a holiday to Turkey before I knew of the dates. I'm gutted. :(
  7. I've got all the bits though. I'm ok for cash at the moment. It's just the time!! I want to do a driving holiday this year and drive down to the South of France...or at least the West coast. Want the car to be 100% as I want it!
  8. Nope, I have that to do a week on Friday. Got a lunch meeting with my old boss next week who's going to give me some pointers.
  9. I bet 1/2 of those are other people's cars! I considered taxing it last week, cause I'm missing driving it, but I can't go driving around in a car with no interior. Feels awful and looks terrible.
  10. I've just figured out what I want to do to my Z before the Summer and it makes me depressed. Run new speaker cables, Run amp cables Disassemble doors and sound deaden. Take off window runners, clean and re-grease Install 2din headunit properly Make sub box Finish modifying rear speaker boxes Trim front seats Refit interior Refurb nearside front wheel (minor scratching) Z33 brake disk conversion with matching grooved disks front/rear Install new shocks, springs, adjustable camber/tension rods Reset steering boss and get 4wheel laser tracking Get chip on spoiler sorted Get T-top roof pillars painted gloss black Get wheel spacers for the front Do another service, including TX fluid and brake fluid replacement. Get rear screen lightly tinted Get UK spec clocks and fit chrome dial surrounds Fit airbag model cruise control paddle replacing series 1 steering wheel controls. Somehow I dunno if I'll be able to get it done. Unfortunately, I don't have a double garage, so doing work on the interior is a pain if it's pissing down, which, at this time of the year, it mostly is. Then there's the winging girlfriend who I can't leave to watch me tinker about with my car as she gets bored. Then there's the fact that it's already nearly April!! I am just hoping I get this job I applied for as I'll take all the holiday off in my current job giving me 3 weeks to piss about with the car! LOL Thing that pisses me off is that I have ALL the new bits, but just don't have enough time! Can't wait for the clocks to go forward an hour!!!! /rant
  11. Well, I wouldn't sell my Z for one, but if I was in the market for one, I'd be looking at trying to get one over here.
  12. Tell that to all the other Z enthusiasts who've ploughed tens of thousands in their Z32! ;) It's an enthusiast car.
  13. You're always moaning about your car? Ratio-wise, the chances of having a newer car with more problems than an older car is low. You car before you had it could have been potentially problematic. It's what happens with older high performance sports cars. Of course there are other factors in it. But generally, newer cars have less chance of having Neil Armstrong mileages and being rusty. 98 onwards had much better gearboxes, reworked stiffer chassis and many other bits. You need to see the bigger picture. Plus the exclusivity of owning an S-reg Z32!
  14. It's newer, has nicer features to it. Less chance of high mileage ones, less chance of it being hanging or rusty. Overall, they do look nicer. What would you rather have, a 16 year old car or an 9 year old car? Most of the early Zs are haggard now.
  15. Why did you ask then?
  16. Mine has tilting function too. It's an all singing, all dancing Alpine system. The reason I want it to sit perfectly is so that the base sits on the fascia correctly so you're left with no gaps. All good and well having a tiltable one, but if you can see that it doesn't fit on fascia correctly it would look as tidy as it could do. :) Thanks for the comments. Dan, the price worked out over £150. You might be able to get one modified for that price. But I dunno if it would look quite as factory is this one does.
  17. Gold wheels, veilside front bumper and a rather smokey exhaust. Was heading in towards the centre about 1pm.
  18. Algram Plastics is in Plympton.
  19. K reg series 2 with Navan rear spoiler. Sure I've seen it on here. Saw it parked by the hedge before I went. Looks very tidy. :)
  20. Double reply.... hehe
  21. Leave them on and get them fixed. It's a nice stock UK example you have there, would be nice to keep it that way.
  22. I use a chap in the US. Have done for a few things I've got from the US. http://www.wheelchoice.com I had mine through last month. It's not quite a simple operation. You will need to get custom brackets made up. I trial fitted mine a few days ago and this was original mounts bodged to fit. As you can see, it doesn't sit at the correct angle here. But it's nearly there. You need to watch out for the wiring that's behind. You'll need to either modify it or shift it out of the way otherwise the headunit won't sit the way you want it to. I'm running all new cabling anyway which is nice and flexible, so I can move part of the old redundant loom out of the way. I am either going to make custom mounts or get a good car audio place to make me some brackets so that the headunit sits at exactly the right angle. As you can see here on my trial fit, the headunit sits too far in at the bottom. The angle needs adjusting. But it looks ok for a trial fit. The fascia is actually a professionally modified standard panel. It's a brand new panel, but has been modified. But it's done extremely well, the finish is spot on and you can barely tell, only by looking on the back would you notice. It's still a very good factory looking part.
