  1. On night shift this week huh.
  2. Joel's garage is tiny, I don't know how he does it. My garage is pretty decent for a single garage, if I park the passenger side close to the wall, I can pretty much fully open the drivers door.
  3. It'll get most of it off however the salt dust blows into all the inner flinches and cavities that a jet nozzle and even cavity wax won't reach....plus you're just then blasting pressured water into the areas where they're prone anyway. Salt is the biggest killer of car bodies and on older cars with less protection and already a long time out in the environment, I won't take mine anywhere near a salt road, I'd sooner walk....on one leg....with no foot.
  4. Any hint of salt I stay well away. It needs heavy rain to dissolve and wash it all away and a dry spell with no frosts. I hate it sat in the garage but I'd hate it even more to know that the body would turn into the ferrous ore from whence it came if I used it in salt and/or damp conditions, plus the debris on the roads in the winter. I've seen wwaaaayyyyy too many rotten Z32s to put my car through that torture.
  5. Barely even looked at mine! Weather's just been too foul, it's either been wet or salty or a miserable combination of the two. I'm itching to take it out and I can't wait until my new clutch and flywheel are fitted!
  6. Why would you want to do that?
  7. ....says the man who deleted his check valves.
  8. Would look nicer without that trim on the clocks, you're 10 years behind with that stuff. ;)
  9. I'd be inclined to refit them. Check valves are also known as non-return valve, so you could be pressurising your vacuum system at the wrong point without them although I don't fully know how detrimental it would be without them. If you refit, make sure they go on the correct way round!
  10. They're check valves so imagine a ball bearing and a spring although I've never had one apart.
  11. Thinking about renewing these as they're still the originals as part of preventative maintenance when my car goes in to Jimmer's for the clutch and flywheel upgrade. I have heard they occasionally fail? I believe when they fail, they can make the system wheeze a little when off-throttling. Has anyone else experienced this?
  12. I think it's more to do with interchangeability between markets. American and Japanese licence plates for example are made of tin, sure they're not heavy, but they bend easily. Having something that gets easily damaged on a bracket might be considered a better design. I dunno, just thinking out loud.
  13. If the hinge wasn't there, you'd have difficulty in removing and refitting the bumper.
  14. I'll keep the bolts, looks purposeful. It's what the car would have come with. :)
  15. For years I went with a plate glued to the bracket. It never lasted so ended up with screws and screw covers utilising the original bracket. I kinda like it. Function over form in this case.
  16. I'd probably get really annoyed after 5 minutes driving your car. You'd probably get bored driving mine.
  17. They're much better than those awful rose jointed units (sorry), but they still require maintenance, they get a little creaky and they rub slightly on the carrier bracket. I want NVH at near stock levels, I don't want or need that amount of 'race spec' on UK roads. On the move they're fine, but at slow speeds, I want the car to be quiet and comfortable.
  18. Want a maintenance free more compliant ride.
  19. Yes. I'm going to take off the Z1 Upper control arms and will be fitting the Whiteline eccentric adjustment bushings to the stock arms. Their range is half a degree. Now I could also couple that with a 300degree shim kit, but not sure. I want to drop the front about 5-10mm further and not sure whether they have the depth of range.
  20. Is there a general rule-of-thumb equation to roughly how much ride height will affect camber on the Z32? Appreciate it's not very scientific as the true values will only come out via full alignment, I'm just looking at various after market suspension components and their limitations.
  21. Can't speak a word of it so thanks for the link!
