  1. Sports car has a wide connotation, however the Z32 can definitely be classed a 'sports car', absolutely. - - - Updated - - - That's because yours is an NA.
  2. Lovely Nick! Excited to see this finished. :)
  3. ......FWIW, the Z32 came out in 89 and cup holders weren't really a 'thing' back then. Nissan however did offer an optional DIN cup holder. If you REALLY want one, then you can buy this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOT-Universal-Car-Auto-Double-Din-Radio-Pocket-Drink-Cup-Holder-Storage-Box/381359613013?hash=item58cacde455:g:hSUAAOSwYS9ZaZ5U Personally, I couldn't give a shit about bloody cup holders. I got bored of all the car manufacturers trying to 'out cup holder each other' in the late 90s/early 2000s each time they launched a new model.
  4. You missed what I was responding to. Removing the ash tray (my original point) does not obscure the gear stick.
  5. You know your life is over when you have to drive an MPV. But agreed.
  6. Because none of those require access whilst driving and it doesn't get in the way of the gear stick.
  7. Agreed. I mean, if I used my Z as a buffet car or luxo barge, I can see the point. But who drives around in their Z eating and drinking 24/7 and requires constant access to somewhere to put a cup of coffee? It's a drivers' car. I love the fact that it doesn't have any of that bullshit fitted; the focus of the car is driving, not drinking and eating at the wheel.
  8. You do know that if you pop out the ash try, there's a spot there which is what most people use. The thought of having a cup holder and being bothered about it in a sports car fills me with disbelief.
  9. You are joking, surely. At least I really hope you are.....
  10. If I have drink in the car, yes. Cup holders are neither cool or nice. They're a functional peice of crap that became a feature of repmobiles and family cars of the late 90s. I fail to see why anyone would want one and still further get excited about them. They're hideous. They're fine if they're hidden or folded away as a functional item, but the things you can get for the Z32 are just tragic.
  11. People seem to go nuts over cup holders and roof racks.....I don't get it. I'd never had any of that shit anywhere near my car.
  12. Haha ah! Richard, there's no getting away from this I tell thee!
  13. Just get an ASBO tag attached to his car!
  14. I take mine out in the winter when I can guarantee a totally salt free and dry day. I was going to take it out today however I can't be sure that there isn't salt dust on the roads. If the car is left in a dry garage over the winter (many are damp), there's no problem. Mine always starts first turn of the key after winter layup and rarely have any issues with it.
  15. I think you should. There's a balance between preserving an old car and enjoying it. :) Mine gets plenty of use in the summer months. :) Driving it the winter doesn't hold any positives for me (despite missing it like hell). You can't use the power because the roads are a greasy filthy mess, the underside will be being eaten away by all the salt and the paint chipped to hell by all the grit.
  16. At least it's keeping it away from all the salty shit you usually drive in Richard!!!!
  17. I wouldn't use wire wool.
  18. Does anyone have any spare mirror foam gaskets? They're not available and want some spares. If any of your hoarders have any laying around, I'll be eternally grateful.
  19. They'll ban "Ladies' Day" at Ascott next!
  20. I remember that. Jesus, this stretches my abilities to recall stuff!
  21. JIB760 is still registered to a red car. I'm guessing your black and gold one started life as red? I forget know.
  22. I remember most of these cars and owners. James Morgan (aka "Jaffa") still has his (kaiju project) Rich Newton (aka "Chunk") sold up years ago. Into Skylines now I believe. Paul Carr (aka "Cadpaul"), not sure on this one, maybe Bird might know. Slick Pete, as we know, he still has his although I don't think he's ever had a head of hair. ;) Mike Blackmore, no idea Dave Monaghan (aka "Royal), into motorbikes now. Sold the red one a while ago. Martin Garner (aka "Teapot"), sold a long time ago, maybe 8 or 9 years Dave Haylett (aka "EvoluZion3"): Sold his car to Dan Britton who comes on here from time to time, can't remember his username. Mike Harris, no idea
  23. You can do that in Mexican strip clubs! :)
  24. APC cleaner like G101 in a 2:1 dilution. Tooth brush and regular car wash to wash off after. Spray onto area. Leave for about 20 seconds, agitate with the tooth brush, hose off immediately and then wipe over again with a sponge before rinsing. For water marks which you're likely to have in the lower corners, you'll need something called CeriGlass. Regular glass cleaner or polish won't touch it.
