  1. Sure did. I had all the glass taken out for the paint job. I didn't get all new, that would have been really costly. The rear screen for example is over £850. The rear quarters are £175 a side. T-top glass (which also varies in tint) I think is something stupid like £500 a side. Not too sure what the door glass is, but I spent a LONG time trying to find the best glass I could find and the glass my Z was taken from 5 different cars! haha. Windscreen is of course brand new as it's now manufactured by Pilkington. Both screens are bonded in, so it's a case of cutting the bond out. (My old windscreen broke, but the both rear screens, bronze and blue, came out fine.) To cut the front and rear screens out, this gadget was used, it's called a Wibotec. Ingenious little device that you stick to the inside of the windshield with a huge sucker. It is a rotating tensile spring which pulls back after you pull it. I've had windshields replaced before and all they do is cut it with a knife. But this thing is ace and never seen it before. Threated a wire through the top of screen after peeling back the top seal, rigged it to the Wibotec and pulled it all the way to the bottom..... ...and then went round the top and down the other side. ...and finally, the whole screen can be removed. Excuse the dash, it's a combination of window spray the fitter uses and dust! Now on to the rear screen. Wibotec at the ready! Same method as the windscreen, but a complete pig to remove at the top where other methods had to be utilised. It took a lot of work to remove the plastic clips that hold the top trim on. All of which pretty much had to be destroyed in the process. Refitting will be easier as I had a spare tailgate with blue glass (and top trim) that the fitter took away complete to work on which meant he could save the top trim and clips as the tailgate is already out with everything being fully accessible. Rear screen out. Contrary to what almost EVERYONE suggested, the door glass was in fact the easiest to remove and refit. Complete piece of piss. I made sure I replaced all the nylon runners that sit inside the sliders. They aren't that expensive, but it means the doors shut with a bit more solidity. Having the bronze tint replaced with the blue tint made a HUGE difference. It makes the car look fresher, cleaner and more modern, rather than the 'cigarette stained' feel of the bronze glass. Also bear in mind that the t-top glass is colour co-ordinated too, so if you're replacing all the glass on the car, these really need to be done too. In terms of the rear 1/4 windows, they are simply cut out. The trim comes out with it and is all simply bonded back in in one piece. The trim for the rear screen is really pricey. The top trim is about £175 and the main rubber trim is about £90. I bought a new one a while ago and the fitted managed to save it. The top trim was just transferred across.
  2. A new windscreen made me happy. Saying that, my old windscreen was in mint condition.....but I wanted bluuuueeee :)
  3. ....not really any comparison, but a friend of mine has a Nova GSi in immaculate condition.....so it makes a '2 sporty cars from the 90s' type photo - from different ends of the spectrum - the Nova is the same year as mine. Not really my thing, but it's a tidy little car.
  4. Parked on the deck of the Mont St. Michel (Brittany Ferries' vessel) enroute back to Portsmouth from Caen. Everything else, including the M3 just looks a little dull.
  5. Wow, that's one rotten exhaust. I have a Veilside Evolution system. Not wanting to sound bias as I have seen and experienced pretty much every Z32 exhaust under the sun, but I can safely say the Veilside system is one of the best I've seen in terms of quality. It also makes a beautifully refined burble, with a gorgeous noise when you put your foot down, no rasp, droan or harshness, just and exotic deep burble. They aren't the easiest systems to source as they went out of production over a decade ago, but if you seen one, I encourage you to snap it up! kUfrebDyRTE Small sound-clip here also near the beginning. pDFqZCWV-JA
  6. The 'lambda' sensors really ought to be genuine. Some people have used ebay sensors with varying degrees of success, but I'd ALWAYS go the genuine route for these.
  7. Well I'm back, so you gotta beat it! haha! :)
  8. I have a friend in Arizona who's really good friends with Coz, so I could ask him also. Depends how much margin Coz makes I guess. Might be worth going straight-to-source.
  9. You might be thinking of creamyZ32's VH build thread.
  10. Nice project and welcome. Where are you from? Saw what looked like a PA licence plate on the back of one of the cars in your album. Don't remember seeing your car over on 3ZC?
  11. Don't think it'll be a placebo effect, the spark will be stonger, the signals to and from the ECU will be clearer, the earthing will be stronger. We all know what a grounding kit does for the Z32. :) Good thinking Poely J. I might have a chat with some contacts in the states and see if anyone is pally with these guys. Failing that, I'll orchestrate something myself and speak to them directly if there was enough interest.
  12. As with Kev....tentatively I'm in! It depends on A: the weather and more importantly B: when in September. I'm down in southern France in my Z until September 9th/10th. Maybe the 11th would be a good day? If it's hurling down, I'll just turn up in my Jetta.
  13. Bought - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221258207487?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1861wt_902 WHAT a bargain, especially since the mileage is almost spot-on correct!
  14. Yeah I bet! It's something I really need to get to be honest. I have 2 connectors that could really do with being replaced, but I'd rather replace the whole thing. You say you're surprised, but I bet even though it was running, with a new loom, it'll be running perfectly. You'll have less signal degredation in the wires/connectors.
  15. Maybe it was yours I saw then. Did look good. HAS to be better than an old heat destroyed brittle piece of shit.
  16. This is the only one that's worth any REAL value. The SM....complete with Masserati engine.
  17. Hahaha. Well the Z you had a hand in buying is still going strong!! Yeah, the quality looked very good. Jimmer was impressed with it. Can't remember who's car it was going in. Howard's I think.
  18. Four MOTs? Jesus! lol....it will fail with style that many! lol :)
  19. Saw one at Jimmer's unit a few weeks ago. Looked pretty good. Something I'd really like. I can still get the RHD OEM harness from a contact I have in Los Angeles, but supply is almost nil and the stock of OEM harnesses from Z1 has now depleated, so these things are certainly a good thing.
  20. What's with the pee-coloured lights? lol
  21. Not seen any on the road for months and months and months and saw 2 today! You pulled up in Nailsea High Street. I wasn't driving my Z, but noticed you pull up. Looked completely stock.
  22. Incidentally, have you decided on a colour for yours yet?
  23. My God man! Don't give him any more minging ideas! ha! :)
  24. Little Angle? Is in 5 degrees? :p
