  1. Before you go off getting all that done, get the gear selector bushes replaced and change the gearbox fluid. Use MT90. That'll run you about £50 and will be cheaper than getting a box reconditioned that you may not need to. Sounds like 2nd gear syncros are a little worn though, but if your gear stick is like a dick in a bucket, that won't help either.
  2. Not sure either, but it might be because it's rusted through?
  3. You can, but the rust will still be back there hidden. Sometimes, it takes a bit longer to appear again, but it will come back if it's not cut out completely. Doesn't look like yours is too bad, so I doubt much metal will need to be cut out, but rust from the inside has now reached the other side which has swollen the paint to a bubble.
  4. Classic case of water (condensation) between the skins rotting it over time from the inside I'm afraid mate. If your bodyshop simply rub it back and fill it, it'll come back within 6 months (even if treated). The area ideally needs cutting out back to unaffected metal,A: to stop it spreading and B: to prevent it coming back. It might sound solid and most of it probably is, but that's because it's double skinned and the rust hasn't developed that far along. It'll be rusting from the inside though, so no amount of sanding it back from the outside will stop it.
  5. The best thing you can do is to junk the stock airbox and fit an A'pexi (or similar) cone filter. The stock item is quite restrictive. You'd also be able to hide your HID balasts a little easier then too. :)
  6. I enjoyed it as much as you did. As much as anyone organising has to do the ground-work (well after all, that's what they put themselves out for), it's a team effort at the end of the day. The event wouldn't have been the success it had been without the input and attendance of its members. :)
  7. Sorry to hear dude. Sad news.
  8. You need 1.21 gigawatts!
  9. Hide then under the headlight. You can't even see any hint of mine under the bonnet.
  10. That's shit wouldn't even keep a scrotum warm! lol ;)
  11. Yes correct! However, not from a European model as they have the same ones as the UK versions without the flap! Have a friend over from Arizona and he picked up this brand new one from CZP for me. Not the most exciting mod in the world, but I bet no one else has twin mirrors on their sun-visors! :p
  12. Did this to mine today! Can you guess what it is? Took me all of 5 minutes to change!
  13. That's a powdercoated silver not a matte silver.
  14. Being perfectly honest Steve, I think yours are too dark. You have lots of thin spokes which are hidden. Something brighter and more fresh would be more eye catching I think.
  15. As if by magic....your wheels in a shadow chrome finish. I like the way the sunlight captures the corner of the spoke, something your white wheels don't do at all.
  16. I wouldn't go black either. Never been a fan of black wheels. But a gunmetal or shadowchrome is nice. Shadow chrome is certainly what I'd go for on a wheel of that design.
  17. Personally, I'd not do them white at all. They're quite a nice style, but I find red and white a real clash. I'd get them powdercoated a shadow chrome. It's a gorgeous colour and will make the car more purposeful, hide brake dust a little more and make it look a little more expensive.
  18. LOL! 2 people at the same event, the same part of the site/stand talking on the forum!  :wack:
  19. I see no 300zxs, but I see a Skyline! New banner looks nice.
  20. Wondering whether you have a broken oil scraper. Sounds like it's doing it under load. You can still get good compression results with a broken oil scraper. Drive it around a bit more though, oil can find its way into the ICs if you've had a faulty engine in there previously. It can take quite a while to burn off, but that generally always does it under boost.
