  1. Are you sure it’s not the idler pulley? It has been attempted to remove the compressor pulley and extract the bearing in situ, but so far no one has been successful. It’ll be unit out for reconditioning I’m afraid.
  2. Getting to those roads, then finding a time when they’re empty and enjoying good weather makes it a chore - easier and more enjoyable to hop across the channel. Instantly you leave the ferry at St Malo or Roscoff for example and the roads are empty, smooth and picturesque. Our roads are in a terrible state and the majority of them are overcrowded. There are some great roads in the Breacon Beacons, Northumberland, The Lake District and Scotland however getting there is dreary and it’ll most likely be raining.
  3. Why? A plethora of incredible landscapes, empty roads and good weather. Driving in continental Europe is by far the best way to truly enjoy the Z as it was intended. European insurance and breakdown cover will continue post Brexit.
  4. Do be careful re: insurance. Companies like Performance Direct do give good value however the cover is basic as in you don’t get things like European cover or breakdown cover. I did get an awesome cover from Performance Direct however you get absolutely no European cover, if you do take your Z to the continent you’ll either need to find additional insurance which can be a pain if you do things last minute or swap insurance providers altogether.
  5. You’ll find that the fibreglass spoilers will need quite a lot of sanding and fettling to fit and they’ll need bonding on, they don’t use any of the fastenings of the original.
  6. No, you just search under ‘Fairlady’. Works on both PC and mobile versions of their website.
  7. 2 actually... ;)
  8. IMO, for the cost, I'd have them as a serviceable part. Generally it's the spring for the overflow that can gets gummed up over time, however that's mostly due to coolant being left in for too long, they stick closed giving a potential over-pressure situation. As above, get an OEM one, they're really cheap and have the correct pressure rating/spring pressure.
  9. They’re not kits, they’re complete late spec optional headlights as available for 98+ Z32s.
  10. Hello, welcome to the forum. A 1986 Twin Turbo? I think you mean single turbo unless it’s been converted to run either a different engine or had some other conversion. The Z32 was not manufactured in 1986, it would have been the Z31 model which was only available with a single turbo and a different engine on its turbo variant. Would you be able to confirm?
  11. I know you wouldn’t change them to a nicer aftermarket set so the best alternative is a set of TT wheels. ;) I’ve always liked Euro OEM TT wheels with the wider rears and I’d rather fit those over sets of questionable styles and qualities of aftermarket wheels. :)
  12. Yes, chromed wheels were a cost options for US Z32s. A set of stock TT wheels would look wonderful, even better if you're able to get a chromed set imported (getting very difficult now).
  13. Congratulations Mike! New Z looks great! I trust the wheels are going to be changed. I have driven a few convertibles across the US, one TT (converted) and two NAs. The hood mechanism can be a little bit problematic when the guide wheels either pop off or misalign from the runners. Once you get the knack of things they’re generally ok to operate although completely mechanical save for the lock releases which are solenoid operated. IanL has had his convertible the longest on here so believe so he’s probably the best person interrogate regarding operation of the hood and associated areas.
  14. Couple of recent ones of me out in Ohio back in June with Chris Karl (ZCCA President).
  15. Ah yes! This car was crashed some time ago - probably toward the beginning of the year.
  16. All I can see is a headlight....
  17. Speak to Bernie Bilski. https://www.yugobernie.com/inventory.html It's not listed, but he'll have new knock sensor connectors that you can pin-out your old broken ones for. Email him on berniebilski@cox.net he's in the US, but postage won't be as much as you see for ebay vendors' international shipping charge.
  18. Courtesy are still in business. I know a few of the guys out there, get in touch with Billy Buzbee or Melissa Waters (Miller). I'm not sure whether they'd be stocking JDM/Euro wings (US wings don't have indicators). Some of the other vendors do buy product in from Japan though. Pretty sure I've seen new JDM wings on either Z1 or CZP. You can get them through UK sources too, allcarpartsfast.co.uk, MJP, ZCentre. Buying stuff from the US doesn't have the same cost benefit now due to exchange rate changes and the cost of shipping.
  19. It was trialled wasn’t it I think? Uptake was low. The other issue here is with having a lack of huge swathes of farmland to grow the enormous amounts of beet which is used in the production of E85 puts the fuel at a huge disadvantage in terms of commercial viability. We could import it, but it’s not quite like the production of mineral based fuels. You can buy large drums of the stuff here however it’s twice to three times the price of super UL. In the US and in France it’s substantially less than regular fuels due to taxation differences. The majority of the French buy it as a low cost alternative to regular petrol whereas it’s sold in the US as a performance enhancing fuel. Here we have around 5% ethanol in our regular fuels and I think it’s somewhere around 10% in France.
  20. I had the pleasure of driving a little Datsun Roadster out in the US a couple of years ago. Wonderful little cars, quite raw and from a time when cars were very different to drive than today!
  21. Have you tried installing your iPhone in the bin and getting a more superior Android phone? ;)
  22. Just put some fresh unleaded in it and drive it gently until you’re able to get to a petrol station selling higher octane fuels. All quality fuels have detergents in them anyway. I’d personally avoid oil and fuel additives.
  23. Jesus! That's actually really good - might have to consider Austin. I've driven round COTA in a Z32, that was very cool! Wonderful circuit.
  24. Current pricing for this year's was £966 for the testing day. https://www.grandprixevents.com/hungarian-grand-prix/f1-paddock-club/
