  1. I was looking at the egr delete too, is it OK to cut the pipes and blank the holes? To remove everything is an engine out job right?
  2. Today's work on the car took an unexpected diversion when one injector died and another was reading 100 ohms!. So I popped my plenum pull cherry! You get to the point of thinking what the hell have I done! Now just reading up on the coolant bypass to make it easier next time, and trying to get all the bits ordered I need.
  3. The right side was sitting slightly higher, so I dropped the coil over to make the floor-to-arch height the same. Have been for a drive, I'll do some more investigation today if the weather brightens up!
  4. They don't have the offset marked on them, but they both measure up the same
  5. I'll do that tomorrow, and then try my old wheels back on too. Wonder if subframe locking collars would keep the bushes central if that's what It turns out to be?
  6. Has anyone heard of the rear subframe not sitting central on the subframe bushings? I've just fitted new wheels with more offset than my previous set, so it's shown up the problem. One of the rear wheels is slightly further out the arch, noticeably so once you've seen it. I have adjusted the camber in slightly on the one that is further out but it now has more negative camber than the other side, yet is still poking out. Any ideas? Anyone had this before? I don't have adjustable lower arms, so it can't be that, only adjustable camber arms on the rear.
  7. Here's the thread if you're interested... http://http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=18&t=1403755&mid=405740&nmt=well+someone+had+to+try+them%2ENankang+ns-2r+%2B+520hp+car+%3D%3F%3F%3F
  8. Looking forward to how you get on with these. There will be tyre snobs out there that will slate them on the name alone, but they seem to have proven themselves in a fair few occasions. Don't expect them to work as well as Road tyres in the wet, but I have heard they're great in the dry. There's an interesting thread on pistonheads where someone has them on a 520 bhp BMW.
  9. Welcome James! Wheel offset on these is a huge can of worms. ET20 on a 9" wide wheel will bring them pretty close to the arches. Dependant on camber and whether you would roll the arches, you could go much more 'aggressive' on the width and offset on the rears at least. I know some on here are running 10"+ on the rear of their cars. Hope this helps!
  10. Am I too late for a ticket? Sorry this slipped my mind!
  11. Cheers for the reply guys, I'm swaying away from XTD, and I'm trying to find something else that will fit the bill. I've just found a company called cg motorsport that manufacture clutches, they seem to offer a variety to suit what I need. Anyone heard of cg motorsport based in Leeds?
  12. When these clutches are advertised as '12% more torque than standard' should I assume that the standard clutch is something like 380 hp?
  13. Here is the XTD that would be considered... http://http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XTD-STAGE-4-CLUTCH-X-LITE-FLYWHEEL-KIT-FOR-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO-3-0L-/381158179701?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58becc4375
  14. A track day at brands hatch on Sunday finished my clutch off, so I'm in need of an uprated one. I know the opinions of XTD clutches are very strong for either side, are they worth going for? Stage 4 looks like it would handle some abuse, are they daily drive-able? Needs to handle at least 400hp comfortably The other contender is competition clutch, but is pretty big jump in price and would need a flywheel too. While the box is out, I'm very tempted to put a single piece prop in too. Any advice appreciated!
  15. I changed the gearbox oil for some redline mt-90, it was supposed to be a simple job with my new hand pump... Turned out the pump enjoyed sucking more air in from behind the piston than oil, and it would only pump about 100ml at a time. Glad that's not a frequent job! Pump is now in the bin. Got to recommend Redline oil though, the shift is much smoother now. Oh, and booked on to the Brands hatch track day on the 15th. First of the year!
  16. Remember castle Combe have a 100db static noise limit before you sign up to a track session! :)
  17. I've always enjoyed the show, they have the drift teams, track time, and a good selection of cars. As with every show, there's people who are only there to stand next to their cars all day, and whatever they drive is the only car anyone should own... That's car shows for you though. Always a good turnout of Zs, a million MX5s, a few more civics and some pretty special cars.
  18. I'll be there, and am interested in track time too. Look forward to japfest every year!
  19. If it's coming from above the drivers turbo, it may be the short connector hose on the intercooler pipe work. It's no more than 4" long, with a jubilee clamp at each end. Mine was leaking from there, and I actually managed to tighten the clamp with about 18" of extensions on a 7mm socket from the front of the engine! Worth a look for starters, all of the pipe clamps are known for being loose.
  20. Cheers for the pointers, I got under and gave everything a good clean, left it running for a good while, and it didn't seem to come back, so I think it's a very minor leak that builds up over time. There did seem to be oil higher up in the engine around the drivers side turbo, so it may be a slight leak from somewhere round there that is travelling down do the bottom of the bell housing. I'll just keep monitoring it for now :)
  21. Good morning all, I seem to have developed a leak from what looks like the bell housing face. I'll try and add a photo, what's the most likely think? Would this be gearbox oil rather than engine oil? Cheers! [/img]
  22. Hi Art, You need to have all matching size injectors, so a 460CC injector will over-fuel that cylinder. You will need a 370CC injector I'm afraid!
  23. Z1's black Friday sales start at 4pm American time... Will anyone be placing an order with them? I've had my eye on some brake rotors, And the automatic postage quotes come out at over 200 dollars! Does that sound right?
  24. Hi All! I've been having a hissing noise on overrun as the revs drop down. This Only occurs between 2500 and 2000rpm. It will go on for as long as you are off the throttle, and in between those revs. It even happens when in neutral and the engine is revved above 2500 and your foot taken off the accelerator. Does anyone else have a similar noise?
  25. I have a spoiler that I bought for £160 last year, before changing my mind to something completely different! It's exactly the same as the OEM spoiler, but much lighter, and not made of sponge to soak up water! It's made by Carmad, and is of excellent quality. No damage, just a bit dusty from a year in the shed. Ready for priming and painting. I will include the central brake light too. Apologies for the pictures! phone is having an off day. I will say £100, but open to offers. I am based near Petersfield, Hampshire, and I can post for an extra £17 Cheers for looking
