  1. Looks lovely mate, congratulations! Dave
  2. Ahh good idea mate, gonna try that.
  3. Congratulations mate! Good move. Dave
  4. 295bhp? stage one? I don't know the first thing about what's possible with an NA Zed but that sounds a bit unlikely? WTF is stage one: twin turbos?! He's not going to get that from an exhaust and induction kit. Anyhow, there's my taxi. All I'm doing is ranting today, need to get rid of this sore throat and get out of the house!! Dave
  5. Felt like it mate. I know people that would have just for the accident but I can understand that these things happen. Its the fact that he didn't stop that really gets me. My old man was forced off the road in a similar incident and he went into a ditch and completely mangled the car. He was trapped in the car until the firebrigade came and cut him out. He would have lost his feet if it wasn't for the steelies that he had on. That bloke didn't stop either.
  6. I just can't find any room for sympathy when it comes to child abuse. I've been spammed email pictures after signing for free porn a while back. It was the most disturbing thing I've ever been unfortunate enough to see. I can understand if people are going out with underage teenagers as often they are very mature and ready for it but peadophilia is as bad as murder IMO. Those kids will be scarred for life, and I think its a waste of time trying to cure the perpertrators, they won't change. If they just get these ****ed up feelings then maybe they can be helped but if they've gone through with the act they should be hung drawn and quartered.
  7. Had a right day yesterday. I've been ill since the day before anyhow so wasn't feeling all that good. I drove into town about 40mph on a 60mph because it was damp and had a bloke come out of a T-junction with out even looking. I threw the anchor out the window but it wasn't going to stop me in time so I pulled the hand brake too. The rear spun round and the car slid uncontrollably on the narrow country road, narrowly missing a van going the other way. I ended up against the hedge and the f*cking bloke carried on driving. So I got the car car back the right way and went after him, not knowing if there was any damage yet. My Dad had a bad accident where the firebrigade had to cut him out after some tw*t drove off a few years back, so I wasn't gonna let this bloke drive off the same way. I tailed him for about 6 miles and he wouldn't pull over. Eventually he had to stop for some traffic lights so I got out, by this time p*ssed because the bloke wouldn't stop. I opened his door and told him what he'd done and that I could be alone, half dead on the side of the road in a remote area (albeit in a bit more colourful fashion). He tried to make out that he didn't know anything about it! How the f*ck can you have a bright red sports car doing a f*cking spin right behind you when you turn onto a main road and not notice? I said he couldn't of been looking in his mirrors at all then if he didn't see me, let alone left and right while coming onto the main road. He then admitted he had heard me skid but thought it was because I was trying to overtake but had to stop because of a minivan coming the otherway. This incensed me because he obviously did know I was there then (the minivan didn't pass until I was spinning, and there was definately no chance of me trying to overtake him). I can't f*cking believe someone could watch a car spin into the hedge behind them and not stop to check they were ok. I can apreciate that these things happen, maybe he thought the road was clear or whatever, but to then have that happen behind him, to see it (which I'm sure he did), and then to drive off makes me f*cking fume. I could have been crushed against the hedge half dead. I really wanted to rip his effin head off, he was about 50 odd and was shaking in his seat at me going off and probably an alright old boy, but I can't believe someone could just drive off??!!   I looked at the damage after, I've got some white marks on the nose where its bent up and taken the paint off (and bent back thanks to polyurethane  99 spec) and its damaged a bit of the bottom plastic panel. I figured the insurance would have put it as a 50 50 accident so didn't go any furthur with that side of things. It could of been a lot worse to me and the car, so I'm taking it as a warning lesson I suppose. Even though I'm a lot more careful in the wet ,other drivers might not be. Dave
  8. where's the option for 'chop off his meet and veg then his head after he's almost bled to death'? no place in this world for people like him. Saying that I think its funny that these countries are making an example of him when half there tourism trade depends on the western visitors and the sex trade. Young girls are one thing but children is unforgivable.
  9. After seeing footage today he was obviously a legend but didn't deserve the liver. They should have let him die with his own abused liver rather than waste another one that could have saved someone else. I've got no sympathy for people who die due to smoking and drinking, waste of resources that should be going to someone who deserves them.
  10. Very tasty mate, like it very much. Dave

  12. If he finds it was just a floppy he'll be P*ssed!! I did that with a deployable network on a ship in Norway last year. I was the only one there running the system and all eyes and pressure was on me to drop the satellite link in and get the email working. I'd rebooted after installing some software and got the same message. Absolutely sh*t myself because for a moment I thought the system had died. Then one of the blokes checked the floppy and pulled the disc out!! phew everything back to normal and running sweet.
  13. Mines been doing hundreds of miles up and down the country as a daily driver and has been faultless, not horrifically expensive due to the motorway driving, and sooooooooo much fun. At the moment though I'm driving about fifty miles a day around towns and country lanes, the country lanes are great but the towns are horrible to drive around. The petrol consumption in these circumstances is scary as its really hard to keep off boost in start stop traffic and windy roads. I reckon it goes from 25mpg on motorways to around 15mpg or less in town and on the country roads. I'd recommend keeping your old car for a run about but it is great fun using the Zed as a daily drive, and its not going to gain any value sitting around in your drive or garage. Dave
  14. Thanks guys, I havn't been on much, using my gprs on mobile so its expensive. Cheers for the info. Probably going to be moving up around mid december so hopefully meet up with you soon. Dave
  15. Do the track day mate, it'll be one of the best days you could ever have in your car. Be prepared for the other costs as above, they are well worth it though. The standard brakes are pretty sh*te and start fading badly after a few sessions (mine were almost new high quality pads and had never faded on the road). I had a new set of rear tyres that probably got half worn out, the front ones were badly worn on the outside edges, although they are still on the car but definately need replacing. I wouldn't go unless your car was 100%. It's a completely different kettle of fish to driving on the road, made me realise I wasn't anywhere near the driving jedi I thought I was!!
  16. Don't know if I like it or not. I like the fact that they've had a go though, and done a professional job of it too. I wouldn't mind seeing it from a different angle.
  17. I agree with you mate, relationships just have to be worked on and it sometimes takes time. Must admit I do think people from certain countries have a common general attitude to work, no matter how predjudiced that sounds. The Marines had a recruitment drive in some of the islands such as Carribean, Figi and the like and they are nearly all very lazy people who couldn't cope with hard graft. Some were strong as ox's but still lazy, most weren't all that clever due to poor education. It wasn't that they were bad people, they just came from a very laid back upbringing and lifestyle that doesn't translate all that well to what is expected in the UK. Don't we work some of the longest hours in the world? But to come back to the point, I'm sure they will respect you if you are genuine, consistent and tell them what you want. Don't beat around the bush.
  18. Lol, oh dear, took me a second or too, but it is late. Good night.Dave
  19. Lol , I'm gonna visit you to see that. I want a Husky and the missus keeps winding me up that I wont let any of the animals near the Zed. Dave
  20. Happy birthday mate, have a good un. Dave
  21. Jesus! just slightly lucky then. He wont forget to change his belt again. Dave
  22. Wow, do you know how it caused those symptoms then? Would that be like a normal boost leak? I just wondered why it stopped the car revving above 5k? Also (not sure on this) doesn't a boost leak often make the car run lean? in which case what about the unburnt fuel you mentioned. Just curious as its always good to learn new things. Dave
  23. Feel free to pm me if you want any more info or to talk on the phone about it mate. Its relatively straight forward, just the drilling that has to be precise. The brake fluid did a good job of peeling the paint off my mates floor too! Dave
  24. If the discs are warped its quite obvious when you nearly get to a halt, the car will jolt as the warped discs passes through the brakes. Kind of like ABS kicking in.
  25. I've got a new one thats been lying in the box since I bought the car. Its getting a bit cold on the long journeys now. Can't wait till February! Dave
