Clarkson - Heaven and Hell DVD
Watched the Clarkson heaven and hell dvd yesterday night. Its a similar format to the last one. There are some very nice cars in there, including a couple of surprises. Its well worth a watch, its got the Ferrari Scaglietti which looks sublime. It also has the BMW M5 ('the most annoying car in the world, then you press the M button and its one of the best...'), the Ferrari Enzo (awesome!), the snarling TVR Sagaris, Ferrari F430, and a host of others. Its great seeing Clarkson hang, draw and quarter some of the aweful cars that have been around.

Stuck on my new DBA discs and Portafield pads
As my Zed needed a new MOT I decided to ignore the bank balance and get the new discs and pads that I've needed since upgrading the brake calipers to r34 skyline ones. I got some very tasty DBA gold rotors and Porterfield Carbon Kevlar pads from Smithy (Top service as always, highly recommended. Cheers mate!) a few days a go and fitted the front and rear of one side today. I also fitted some steel braided brake lines that I've had knocking about since I bought the car. Here's some phots, the cars still jacked up as I'm doing the other side tomorrow. Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone. Dave

Rest in Peace. Poor bloke and his family. I think I recognise the car, we used to live just down the road from there, I remember looking at it when I was looking for my first Zed. Dave

Good find mate, very informative. Bit of an eye opener too. I'd just go for those gold DBA thingies that that bloke smithy sells personally! Dave

Halfords compression tester
I got quite a nice kit from MachineMart, had all the bells, whistles, attachments and bendy bits with it, and was cheaper for what you get I think (IIRR). Dave

tyres help
Gets very pricey as you get wider. Don't get lower quality just for the width.

tyres help
Thicker profile, takes in the bumps a bit better. Mine are 235/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rear. It's a comfortable ride.

I play guitar and would wear a wig if he gave me the house. Hope he doesn't mind the chav boys keying his car and throwing bricks through his window in the council estates!

Some bad news
Really sorry to hear the terrible news mate. Celebrate a great life, rather than mourning his death. Dave and Lissy

Xmas carol singers
We've been giving them cheap chocolate biscuits. They were all young teenagers looking for a bit of cash! Oh well at least they try, cheeky b*ggars.

Ha,won't need a Tom Tom unless they are super cheap (nudge nudge!) . Will pop in and see you though mate, sometime over the week. Just got to get MOT done as police seem to know me at the moment!

Reliable?
If you can buy one that has already had the work done, modded doesn't have to mean extreme. I paid a little more for mine and havn't had a thing go wrong apart from changing the airflow sensor due to an air filter that didn't like the rain. Prepare for high running costs, I'm sorting mine for the MOT: all four tyres (rears have been on for 5mths and now need replacing!): £550 Brake discs all four corners (uprated skyline calipers): £600 Keep a grand or two available otherwise you could suffer. Otherwise though its awesome performance for the money. Dave

Xbox 360
I've never liked the first person shooter console games as the skill level is always dummed down to cope with the joypad being so slow. I must admit though I'm considering a console just for the car games and the fact that they are so much more social than PC games. Gone are the days when I have time to sit on a PC playing games on my own, I'd rather get the boys round and have a laugh on a console. Pc's will always be superior in the graphics and sound departments though simply because they are upgrading every month. I 'd love to know how good PGR is when someone starts playing it. It might make me go out and buy one! Dave

Thanks guys. I'll be in maidstone and possibly Tunbridge Wells area working. I havn't got much of a clue about the geography round there so will have to have a look at an a to z to get my bearings! I'm looking forward to getting things going, and will come along and see you all at a meet as soon as we're settled. Dave
