Please convince me to forget about a 300zx
Oh I don't know, probably be fine with an NA and a bit of respect. Don't go near a TT though! Some costs: Tyres: minimum £100 a tyre, more like £150 if you are sensible and buy good ones Fuel: Don't know, I have a TT that likes to drink Brake pads: £60 upwards Automatic gearbox recon: £1000! NA's are generally very reliable if you have a decent one. For the money you are talking about you should get a very good one. Often NA's have had lots of money spent on nice alloys and stuff like that because the owners havn't had to worry about the expense of the turbos going! Saying that it'll probably still be a very expensive car for a 25yr old to run. You can't just buy one and have it sitting ready to go. You HAVE to spend money on these cars. They may be very cheap to buy but they still cost the same to run (probably more) than when they were a new 30k car, or whatever the NA's used to cost. Its probably not an exageration to say that you should have access to a £1000 for maintainance or emergencies. You'll probably need new tyres at some point in the first year which will be £500 at least, then other things like pads ,filters, etc. The fuel bill is very high (3l engine after all even on NA). There are other people of your age on here that could give you the low down I'm sure. The missus probably wont like it so much when its sapping the bank account so don't bother unless you've got spare cash every week. On the other hand its an amazing car and you WILL fall in love with it. Very much a drivers car and better then its obvious rivals.

Bad tyre fitting service
I meant to post this a few weeks back. I went to check my tyre pressure as it was looking low since the chimp in Bathwick tyres (stonehouse, plymouth) fitted new rear tyres. I remember asking him if the valve was ok because it was spinning in its fitting, and he said it was fine. When I went to check the pressure the nut on the valve popped off INSIDE the tyre and the tyre went flat. I had to take the wheel off, fit the space saver, and drive into Truro and get the tyre taken off, retrieve the offending nut and get it put back on again! This happened in the middle of a 200mile journey, if it had gone on the road I could be brown-bread now!! I was going to see the people at Bathwick as the shopfloor manager seemed an ok bloke. Maybe I should give them a chance, but just can't be bothered with the hassle at the moment and havn't got time.

This has been quite expensive for the government

NZR How many people use Firefox
I think Firefox is far superior to IE, I like the tab browsing and the download method, however I'm thinking of giving Opera a go as FF has been playing up a little. The process hangs after closing the browser sometimes and I have to manually stop it from the task manager, plus the memory things is a little annoying as I often have many apps running at the same time.

Ok, so who's is this then??
Bloody ell, I guess that would be called a work in progress then.

300zx in new film for next year?
Check this out, apparently a new film is coming out with the Zed as one of the star cars. I've just heard this on UJCC so don't know any details but could be interesting. Quote: Still waiting for some confirmations on cars. Yeah Chopper the 300 is going to be one of the main cars. (Character Chris's) Looks like Stacey's MR2 is going to be used as Characters Emmas. Drexel, there is a drifting scene planned and they seem pretty interested in using your RX for it. (With Sideways Rob driving it) How would you feel about that? Here are the people making it.... http://www.fullonfilmproductions.com A few people starring it in are Karl Davies from Emmerdale, Frank Harper from Lock Stock and Roots Manuva. Soundtrack by Fatboys Slims Skint Records. The guy from the Sweeney and Lock Stock is script advisor.

My car has started screaming..
Mine has always squealed on startup for a few minutes, it then stops as it warms up. I was told that the belts get brittle with age and do that.

Anyone here ever had hypnotherapy?
Maybe you should look at it from a different angle Si. Excuse me taking the thread in a different direction but I personally think its much better than going to a gym. I'm probably one of the fittest people about due to my job and hobbies. I don't drink (much!), I don't smoke, I'm in good shape inside and out and guess what? I NEVER go to the gym. The gym bores me silly and I don't (IMO) think its even that healthy, you are stuck in a room, often in a city, doing repetitive motions with very little phsycological (sp?) involvement which I think is the most important part of getting motivated and fit. Get yourself a hobby outside, you are in a perfect part of the country. Anything, even (and especially) walking does wonders for your fitness and general well being. Theres running, climbing, mountain biking, para gliding for f*ck sake! They are all 100% better for you than wasting time in a gym looking at your muscles in the mirror. Plus they get you fit and strong as a result. Fresh air is better than anything else for getting fit and feeling good. There are so many blokes in the Marines who spend time getting massive in the gym and thinking they are awesome because they have an extra inch on their biceps. I take them surfing, climbing or swimming and it counts for absolutely nothing. They are in pieces and blowing out their hoop in no time, no better than someone who has sat on their sofa watching TV all day. There's no substitute for emotional involvement for motivation. You are not going to give in and finish early if you are in the middle of no where! you've got to get home; whether by foot, by bike or whatever. Dave

asshole clients
Good suggestion but I have doorstep toast in the morning with philidelphia, bananas and jam on (it tastes good, honest! Its my power toastie!) and it would catch on the upper cup holder.
