Not sure which ones but I ticked the ones most likely. If I'm gonna spend hundreds going somewhere I'd rather it was a track day type one, I'd like to try silverstone. Castle Combe is down the road so I'll prob do some of those. I'm considering taking the zed drifting but ideally want to get something else for that.
  2. I reckon it could do with some nicer alloys! one of the guys I work with bought a full arcade box the other day. Its got a pc in it running emulation software and has 500 odd retro arcade games on it.

I was just wondering guys and girls. How long do you lose your licence for if you accumilate 12 points? if you don't have 12 points but go to court due to an offence such as this and they take your licence away and fine you, say 3mth or 6mth or whatever, do you then get your licence back clean? I'm sure this happened to my brother a while back but was wondering all the same. Its all on my mind at the moment as I'm worried about picking up another 3pts from the camera the other day (purposely keeping to 40mph and it turned out to be 30mph, and it turns out many people have done the same thing in this area who I work with).
  4. As said above, the pc's will get ip addresses off of the router so will already be able to talk to each other. You just need to enable sharing either on the drive or on the folder and you will see it in 'my network places'. To check the workgroups are the same: right click on my computer and check the computer name tab. If they arnt then change one to make it the same and restart computer. To share a folder or drive: right click on it and go to sharing and security, tick enable sharing and tick the box to let users change the files (if you want that of course). To access it from other computer: click on my network places and double click on the other computer icon. You should then see the shared drive/folder. You could then make a shortcut on your desktop if you wanted. Send a pm if you need any help.Dave

  6. Then again, there'd be nothing to post if people didn't discuss all the usual things. By the way what oil.....
  7. PMSL, being big just makes you look scary and move slowly! plus I'm just a nice guy anyway, don't do arguments. At least not unless you've scratched my Zed! Dave (lover of the lady, drinker of douwe egberts coffee, player of beautiful guitar music, and all round nice guy)

Sorry to hear that Anna, hope you get it sorted. For those who are making an issue of it, there are plenty of places that quietly go from a 60mph large country road to a 30mph built up area. I drive from Cornwall to Plymouth reguarly and there are at least three cameras on the outskirts of villages (two of them coming from dual carriage ways). It doesn't take dangerous or reckless driving to make the mistake Anna has.
  9. Happy Birthday Jon!!! Have a good day mate.
  10. I'd just like to say I had a thoroughly smashing time on the forum tonight, and laughed out loud on several occasions. Thankyou all. Goodnight!   :nana2:
  11. Worth doing a change, seeing as you've just bought it. At least its something out of the equation and it can't do anything but good.
  12. Thats funny as fook! I love the seal one and the zoomed one. Really was laughing out loud.
  13. FFS. The first time you answer one of my posts and you come out with that!! PMSL!!!!

Someone must have it in for red mirrors. I was just mentioning someone trying to get mine off too on FunkySi's crash car thread.
  16. Lol, looks like its going that way anyhow. Sorry all its a Royal Marines term for 'bit thick in the 'ead!'. I didn't think about it when I wrote it. Dave
  17. FFS, you'd have to be a bit handy with photoshop to fake that! You just want a fight don't you Vini!! :hyper: Lol

    Hello mate!
  21. Twenty five quid, there you go IndianZX mate, cheapest mod! Dave
  22. I'll be interested once I have some spare cash, sounds like a top mod. Not sure how long though, depends on the work situation.Dave
  23. Bl*ody hell Si, my heart raced for you a sec there, thought you meant the Zed too. Glad you're ok though and that the company is footing the claim. I made the mistake of parking the Zed on some double yellows on the run up to some traffic lights the other day (not in the way, but illegal so my fault). A transit van driver drove by and scrapped an inch square of paint off my mirror. He wasn't even going to stop, I actually pulled him out of his van as he was stopped at the traffic lights and I had seen him do it from the shop. I asked him what he was going to do about it and he said I'd have to claim from his company. I said I realised I shouldn't of been parked there and the insurance company wouldn't pay up, but thought he was obliged to do something as I wasn't in the way and it was his fault otherwise. He gave me a measly fiver and complained he didn't have enough money for his lunch now! Thanks a million mate. Dave
  24. I've got brake discs and pads to buy first, but what sort of price are you looking at? Does anyone on here use this? I must admit it looks like the one thing that might be of use to me. Is it completely adjustable ie you can turn it off completely if you don't want to use it (say for instance you wanted to throw the rear around for some drifting fun). Interested out of curiosity. Dave
  25. This is doing the rounds of the forums, its originally from the Toyota Owners Club. I think its classic, and I'm embarrassed by the attitude of young college kids/chavs these days! Dave : ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Currently (for my sins in a former life maybe) I am the physics and mechanical engineering lecturer at a local tertiary college. These kids are usually aged between 16 and 19 and are either doing A-levels or Btec nationals. My engineering class is currently studying the vehicle engineering unit. It is quite succesful as there is a large practical component when they get their hands dirty stripping down multi-cylinder engines and learning how they work. Most of these kids are of the age when they are hanging around supermarket car parks and going into hot-hatches doing donughts all night. What they think they dont know about engines isn't worth knowing however their written and practical work says otherwise. e.g What does the term cubic capacity in terms of litres or cubic centimeters mean for an internal combustion engine? Actual answer given (last week) student 1 "...the amount of petrol you can put in the tank" student 2 "..the size of the big box thing under the bonnet (means air filter)" Actual answer = swept volume of all cylinders. Next question: What is normally found on the front end of the gearbox lay shaft in a manual type gearbox? Student #1 "... the radio" Student # 2 "...steering wheel and horn connection" Actual answer: Clutch assembly, flywheel and release bearing. Another question: What mechanism allows fuel through the carb and into the manifold. stud 1 "...a cable mechanism" stud 2 ".. your foot or if you are disabled your friend's foot" Actaul answer Lower pressure within cylinder as piston falls compared with the atmospheric pressure outside the carb system. These guys are going on to university next year to study engineering. It says one thing for our education system that even with kids who arewell into a subject as these are, there is a general lack of general knowledge and ignorance and arrogance is seen to be cool. Mind you I dont suppose like me these kids spent their weekend from the age of 10 helping their Dads strip and rebuild V8 motors. Ho-hum. I must mention a statement from one of my physicists last year which sent me into near hysterics. He was talking about the famous cosmologist Stephen Hawking. He asked' in front of the rest of the class' are their many other Americans who are professors at Cambridge university. "Other Americans?" I asked. "Yes. Like Hawking" he said. When I told him that Hawking was British he seemed stunned and retorted: "Well he sounds American"
