ECU upgrade
+1 for this advice. I have had two SZ maps, one for a near stock setup and another for a much less stock setup. I had both dyno'd to ensure correct running and both times the Dyno showed great fuelling and zero knock.. not to mention great power.

Long Term Storage Procedures?
A lot of helpful information here. Thanks everyone. Sounds like leaving it alone wins the vote. I'll try some of the recommendations around the tyres too.

Long Term Storage Procedures?
Interesting. I had heard conflicting arguments about the start up. Thanks for all of that. Annoyingly I had to quickly shuffle it out of the garage and back in recently and wasn't able to let it warm up so I was planning on giving it one final run up to temp at least to try and evaporate any water in the oil. Would you say just to leave it? Does it ruin the engine through wear, oil contamination or carbon build up (or a combo of all)?

Long Term Storage Procedures?
For those who store their cars for the winter and longer, what procedures do you follow? A change in my circumstances has meant I've needed to take my Z off the road for the foreseeable. I am particularly interested in whether letting the car idle once a month is a good idea for our cars in particular. I was planning to leave mine idling for 30 minutes + with a few rev ups towards the end. As for other things, I have a dehumidifier in my garage to keep moisture under control and have over inflated the tyres to try and keep flat spots away.

No contact from Specialtyz
Did they use USPS? I have placed a few orders with them and the first was (I think) with USPS via Parcel force and I made a special request for all subsequent ones to come via UPS or FedEx. The first one was stuck in customs forever. I know that doesn't help you now though sadly. One to remember for the future though.

Gold "Certified by Nissan" Sticker?
I was just wondering about the gold Certified by Nissan Sticker that lives on my rear quarter glass. Mine looks like it has someone's name written on the back of it. Does anyone know the story of these and what the signature signifies on the back?

I've had them be slow to reply sometimes but never that bad. Are you emailing jonathan@specialtyz(dot)com?

3rd Brake Light
I don't, it's installed in my spoiler and I intend to wire it up as per Andrews guide.

3rd Brake Light
Perfect info. Thank you!

3rd Brake Light
I have an OEM replica 89 spec spoiler fitted and I recently had it resprayed together with my rear hatch and the body shop said the 3rd brake light must never have worked as they can't find a connector for it. I am due to collect the car tomorrow but does anyone know if splicing needs to be done to make the 3rd brake light work? If so, where would be the best place to do that or is there a hidden connector somewhere?

Suspension Upgrade Advice
Ah, great. My bad. Must have been thinking of the Flex.

Suspension Upgrade Advice
I am pretty sure the Advance have a third locking nut for the spring preload, which yours don't have.

hidsrus Xenon Kit 35W 6000K
I've used Morimoto kits on cars in the past. Very strongly regarded brand but you have to import them from the US. At least I did when I last bought some. I don't have a kit fitted to my Z though as I prefer the old light look for this car.

You can also cut the radiator hose and add one of these.. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/35mm-aluminium-hose-adaptor-ha35

New Website - Thoughts and Comments
Really enjoying the new theme. One thing I was wondering now it's bedded in is whether the forum would benefit from some consolidation? There are so many unused sections it feeds into making the place feel a little dead. I feel like consolidating to a much smaller number of forums would help to drive engagement and make the place feel more alive too?

Leak Hunting
You mentioned here all new seals made a huge difference... Is that to say there's still some leaking for you? I am considering replacing all the seals now but it's so much money for the strips of rubber. Sadly it seems it's the only reliable option I have

New to the site so hello.
Thank you for the comments. I joined here a while back as these cars have always caught my eye. This is my first Z though. I should get around to starting my own thread, as suggested. I will do that when I have some time to sink into it. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Just thought I would bump this thread as I have owned this car since February and made a few changes. Pictures here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4frHFyAgJcRKDaTk7

New calipers or not?
I won one of these on eBay last week... Saves me the task of having my RHD one modified. Looking forward to getting them on the car Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Leak Hunting
Looks like I am not getting those eBay Weatherstrips after all. Is there anything I could try filling my seals out with that would work?

New calipers or not?
If you are looking for better brake feel apparently a brake cylinder brace makes a big difference on these cars. I threw one on a parts order from Specialty Z a while back but did not realise they only did the LHD version and the RHD version is no longer produced. I am sure you could get something fabricated though.... http://www.300degree.com/hard_parts/RHbrakebrace/ It is on my to-do list to have my LHD bracket modified to suit.
