Got the main ECU today which groover kindly sent over, along with Jeffs gearbox ECU my car still does not want to shift out of second, ive yet to get a diagnostic done as the garages here haven't got the right OBD connector. Even after re checking what we done the other week, ( gearbox oil change ) its been done twice now . and properly. cannot figure out what this problem can be, how can changing the oil cause so much trouble. seems you try and do something good for the car and it just gets worse.. Im wondering if ive missed something with the Auto diagnostic procedure, ive followed the instructions about a thousand times! and I know on a JDM its the power light to look out for. Jeff mentioned that some zed's have this problem, but I woulda thought after both ECU'S were changed it would work. if a solenoid is stuck is it possible to free it? I think I seen one when I removed the sump..... Back to the drawing board..................
  3. Right got me t10 -501 leds for the dash x4 and there absolutely shite worse than the standard bulb. I did buy some t10 leds for my side lights there bright white is it possible I can use them? Or are they for sidelights only? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

  9. I had the same problem, I did what jeff said and it works fine, I did however cut out some rubber matting into squares x4 and drilled a hole in them so that it would grip the metal to metal easier. it helped to. worth a try . cant hurt. ;)
  10. Thanks jeff. So i dont want to get confused with the speed sensor. Why is it I cant find this revolution sensor anywhere online? Just comes up with speed sensor only. My friend seems to think that it may be the revolution sensor what do you think? If it was my rwv counter wouldn't work no? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi Jeff, Where is the turbine speed sensor located? revolution sensor? is it on top of the tranny? can only find pics online of what it looks like,. my rev counter still works , so could it still be this? Cheers

  14. Hi Richie yeah its a nightmare! Thing is it was fine after the oil change in fact it was changing a lot smoother ... I dont think its the gearbox either as after I done all this I sprayed the connections with electrical contact cleaner (ecu and everything else) I believe since then this is where the issue is. Although I have tried a gb ecu I still would like to try a main ecu as im pretty sure that some of the commands and that surely would go through the main ecu to the gearbox one? Another thing which made me wonder is when I sprayed the ecu connections I should have left it sit for a bit so it releases all its power if I had sprayed it while power was still there I may have shorted something out? Thats why I want to try a ecu then if that fails conzult then if no codes then I guess its the gearbox Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  15. Thank you everyone who replied, hi groover, will the UK spec ECU work ok with a jspec? this is the main ecu im talking about, not gearbox, I need to eliminate everything before I buy a whole gearbox.

Ok so ive re done everything I did last fortnight hoping I would find something thats causing the problem.... first off I wasn't sure where I had put the o-ring on the strainer as it basically fell off as I removed it. But worked out it just slips onto the top of the pipe.. second thing was I checked the electric connectors one clicked in as I pressed it which made me think that may have been the cause. Placed new o ring on and put all back to together .. topped up according to a online guide.. shift through gears while being filled. 3.5 liters. Then took it for a drive to my disappointment its exactly the same :( my mechanic friend who was with me was also baffled. Im starting to think now it may have been something ive done while spraying all the connections with electrical contact cleaner..... but ive checked them over again and they all seem fine. The only reason I cleaned them was cos ive had a leak down there and did find a couple of corroded connections. During driving going dowm hill in drive which is still stuck in 2nd doing about 35-40 the car seems to have no pressure on the engine but when I shift it to 2nd its almost like dropping it down a gear if you can understand what im saying. Plus if I hold the car around 3000 rpm in second you can feel it hesitating -- trying to shift to 3rd. So do I need a new gearbox? If so has anyone got one for sale just incase I cant work this out.
