  1. I don't believe it's actually Alcantara. It's some form of faux-suede but, having stripped a few panels now, it doesn't feel like Alcantara. As Ali said though; getting a perfect match now would be nigh-on impossible even if it was genuine stuff as they've reduced the number of shades they produce quite drastically in recent years.
  2. Even I'm struggling to get the Jown Lewis reference, and I know what the issue is!
  3. Really? REALLY??!! So cruel......
  4. I'm not sure that hosiery has much UV-resistance........
  5. Well... these two very pleasant gentlemen came over and started chatting about the car, wanting to know how much I'd spent on her and what she's worth. They seemed very keen to buy her, although they had already made me aware that they weren't from the UK... I'd already given them a business card with my number on as they seemed interested in having some interior work done, and then the conversation turned to actually buying the Zed off me! They then made a beeline for Joel and, by all accounts, tried very hard to get him to name a price for his car! Perhaps it's wrong of me, but I just immediately thought "Scam!" when the offer to buy was made.... ;)
  6. Mondo's home after a cracking long weekend at the NEC. I spoke to a lot of people about my car (pretty I sold it as well, but that's another story) and she seemed to be getting lots and lots of positive attention. And, of course, those brown leather Recaros.... I need to start sorting a list of jobs for the coming year and budgeting accordingly.
  7. And here's some of my highlight motors from the show: How much do I love these cars!! I've never seen an Opel GT in the flesh until now, and there's a considerable amount of want involved!
  8. I got home just after 9pm and I had a great weekend! Long days but the company was superb, the laughs came thick and fast and the public seemed to really appreciate our cars. FAO Joel and Groover: the performance of my wipers was very different on the drive home!! Really good to be able to put a face to Groover's name and have some proper chuckles with him, and also really good to be able to get to know Craig, Joel, Ash, Ian, Lee, Richard, Julie and Julia a little better. Great company for me. Big thanks to Phutumsch, Bones, Redwine (and others I probably missed) for coming over and chatting over the weekend. It honestly was a great experience for me. Some highlights? It's surprising how many people have one of these cars tucked away in their garage... also surprising that the Supra was known as the 300ZX in Japan ()... both Joel and myself had genuine (???) offers to buy our respective cars... and brown leather Recaros look surprisingly good in a Z32 (:xxx: )... Anyway, enough waffling. Thanks again to everyone that made the weekend what it was and a heartfelt thank you for being given the opportunity to display my old Datsun at such a prestigious event!!
  9. Pretty sure those are the exact flexi lines I bought from you, Andrew. Looks like I need to replace the existing flexi and the hard line that runs between that and the caliper then. That's (hopefully) sorted that then. Thanks, guys
  10. Well, this is an ungodly hour.... :pinch: See you all on the other side!
  11. Do your braided lines replace the Z32 flexi and the hard line that runs from it to the caliper?
  12. Mixed fortunes this afternoon for me. I'd been advised that the standard end of the Z32 brake line is compatible with the Brembo calipers so I headed over to Middlesbrough this afternoon to get everything fitted. The first thing I found out is that my current front discs are indeed 345mm in diameter, so I'm going to lose some girth with the replacements... Then we found out that the standard brake line isn't compatible with the Brembo caliper! So my journey was wasted and I'm still running my "old" front brake setup. :( So I'm trying to fathom out how to attach these damn things now. I can buy a pair of Z33 flexi lines that will attach to the caliper without issue. But I don't know if they'll be the correct length to replace the Z32 flexi and the small hard line that runs from the flexi to the caliper. A bit stuck!! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. How have people who've used the Skyline Brembos got around the brake line issue? Or do those Brembos utilise the stock lines...? Aside from that, I'm pretty much set for my journey to Birmingham tomorrow morning. The carpet could do with a hoover - hopefully I'll be able to do that at the services. So yeah... that's me done for a few days... :)
  13. I still have the hi-vis vest that Gaz provided me with at Coventry, so I'll fetch that to use for this show. And then give it to Craig at the end....
  14. That can be my first port of call then as well. Cheers :)
  15. Snow has turned to sleet here so, until it stops, I'm running around getting everything sorted for this coming weekend. The interior will be refitted by this afternoon regardless and, for the time being anyway, I'm very happy with it. It's how it should've looked last year if I'd had the time (and the foresight) to plan and design things properly at the outset :thumbup1:
  16. Mine's absolutely flithy at the moment and I have to go out in her this afternoon, so I've no idea what sort of state she'll be in tomorrow when we arrive at the NEC! Think I'll have to find a jetwash some close by and then fine-tune the rest of it once she's on the stand....
  17. I don't want to sound alarmist or anything, but it's snowing here....
  18. The rear and central trims are now, well, trimmed! I'll get them refitted in the morning and then it's cleaning time, before she heads off to have her new anchors fitted :thumbup1: It's a shame I haven't had time to redo the doorcard armrests, but such is life. It's all been very 11th Hour as it is....
  19. No, mate. This is a dark red. Alcantara's also available in a Slut's Lipstick Red, don't you worry! ;)
  20. Both seats finished and refitted :) Now comes the part where it (possibly) all goes a bit tits up! My aim is to remove the rear trims and T-piece, strip them down, make new covers and then refit them. Sounds simple, yes? I don't think it will be....
