If anyone was going to put a pair of vents into their bonnet, where do we think the best place might be to position them...? Would they be better at the front or at the back (either side of the bulge) so as to evacuate some heat from the turbos a bit quicker? Any thoughts?

Agreed value should reflect market value and wouldn't cover the cost of any modifications as these generally don't add value to a vehicle. Your bodykit etc might have cost a fortune, but they won't care about that in the event of a total loss claim (theft, write-off, etc). They should have requested a ton of pictures and vehicle details as well. When you were quoting for the policy, did you tell them that you valued the car at £15K...?

If you use a heatgun, you will distort and damage the black vinyl that's already on the doorcard!! Crease-free corners are bloody tricky to achieve and need to be stretched and pulled into position. I tend to try and start at the seatbelt end of the doorcard and do the top corner first... get that secured down and then stretch the material across the rest of the large flat surface. Even doing it that way doesn't always guarantee a perfect result though, sadly :(

Today, in between building interiors, I took delivery of a full set of OEM corner spats in rather good condition! :thumbup1:

I'm more than happy to help anyone, even if it means they won't be getting me to do the work for them...! :lol: At the end of the day, nobody would really get anywhere if they didn't want to at least attempt things themselves. Anyone who wants to to do their own interior (for example) deserves encouragement and advice wherever it may be required. Any more questions Alfie, just ask :)

Whatever you plan to recover the panels in, I strongly recommend you use this adhesive to hold it all in place! Ordinary spray adhesive won't work as the high temperatures inside the cabin will make your handiwork peel off. :( You can pick up offcuts of leather on eBay or Gumtree. Then it's just a case of carefully cutting to shape and attaching them to your panels. Sounds easy, but it can be quite tricky (doorcards especially!).
