  1. Hahahaha!! Let's find out, shall we....
  2. I'll take a picture of the front and back of these clocks then so you can see if they're what you need. :)
  3. I was advised that, when converting from auto to manual, the neutral switch on the gearbox needed connecting as, if it was left disconnected, the timing changed by 15 degrees. Dunno if that's relevant to your question or not though...
  4. Hmmm. I'd have to have a look to see what's involved, I think.
  5. Do you mean the flexible printed circuit board...?
  6. That was my original plan but the mounting screw points are totally different between the two speedos. :(
  7. Thanks Si but it's only the speedo that's a problem. Hopefully Johnny's cluster will sort the problem and I can then concentrate on other parts of the Zed (like the interior) :)
  8. This car likes to test my patience, I'll give it that! Other than daft niggly issues, she appears to be behaving herself at the moment.... Sounds like Series 1 clocks are my only way forward so I'd like to take John up on his gracious offer please. And yes, I'm getting on with your interior!!
  9. So my speedo doesn't work. To sort this, I tried resoldering it all and it works when it wants to now. In my inexperience, I bought a set of UK clocks off eBay recently and, upon delivery, they appear to be Series 4 ones as they have an airbag light. I'd hoped that the speedo itself would be interchangeable but that doesn't appear to be the case. The actual plug sockets on the back of the entire cluster, however, look to be the same as on mine, albeit in slightly different locations. My question, then, is this: can I plug these straight into my Series 1 car and (airbag light aside) are they likely to work...??
  10. Congrats, mate - you should be very proud of yourself. :)
  11. I prefer leather... for some reason...
  12. Today I've been mystified by the Zed deciding to run on only 5 cylinders for about 15 minutes! :( She was fine when I turned the engine off. When I started her up again about half an hour later, only 5 pots were working. The sixth sprang back into life about 15 minutes later. Bizarre.....
  13. With enough notice, I could be up for a run across... :)
  14. You can get them from Z-Centre or (apparently) direct from HEL themselves. :)
  15. My classic policy is on a Jap Zed, 5k miles per year and includes commuting. :)
  16. I have a pretty lengthy commute at the moment and the Zed's doing all the miles right now, working out around £15 - £20 a day in fuel. Which is killing me! But I sort of factored for this when I decided to buy a twin turbo'd Japanese muscle car. :D If I were you, I'd look at all possibilities for keeping the Zed. Even so far as eating beans for a month or two (forever)... ;)
  17. What's involved in smoothing a plenum? Is it really simply a case of sanding it til the surface is flat...?
  18. N00b question here: what does detonation sound like...? Is it like pinking (for the older generation out there)...?
  19. Last night I fixed an enormous power steering leak at the rear of the Zed!! :( Tonight I should be fitting my HIDs... :)
  20. With friends like these....
  21. He certainly did, because I downloaded this before I even had a Zed to use it on...!! It's already come in very handy... :)
  22. It'd be nice if they had changed... but I imagine they're probably even worse these days...!
  23. Good to hear, mate. :) You raise a good point there, actually!!
  24. No other NE members fancying a day at the seaside.....?
  25. Best drop Jerrick a PM then.
