Paisley Freight have a specific charge for gearboxes anyway. Think it's about £40 off the top of my head.

Just to blur the issue somewhat... my oil pressure gauge has started working again now...... :headvswal

Bloke said there's an issue with the sensor but it seemed pretty constant. Until after I dismantled the dash!

I've had the dash apart just now but couldn't see any wires adrift or anything really obvious. I couldn't actually find the MPH converter either - shouldn't that be tucked behind the clocks...? Then, to add insult to injury, the oil pressure gauge has stopped working. Everything's connected and nothing's been dislodged (to my knowledge) but it ain't budging from 0! :(

Who's absolutely skint after buying a Zed this weekend..... :(

Is what I've described a common or well-known symptom of this then...?

I'll have to pull the clocks out and have a snoop around then.

New Zed and my first "WTF?!" thread already. :lol: The speedo in my new toy doesn't work. It either sits on 0 and doesn't move, or it starts at 180 and doesn't start working (backwards) until you hit 70mph! The trip counter and odometer both work without any issues. The car's a 1991 TT auto import, just in case that makes any difference. Speed sensor? Dodgy wiring? Knackered speedo unit? Help!!!

I've been shopping around for when I get one. Ran a quote on a 1991 UK manual twin turbo... I'm 38, no points, no claims, car on the drive. 5k annual miles. Flux quoted £722.31! Greenlight wouldn't touch me. The cheapest "high street" quote was from Performance Direct for £318. Best "classic policy" quote is £306 so far......

Gutted I wasn't able to go and see DM myself - somehow I've never managed to make it to any of their shows. :(

I'm including everything that's seen there, and the stuff you undoubtedly can't see.

I don't have a lot of the overheads that "big" trimming firms do, so I can afford to be a little cheaper than practically anybody else. :)

You're cheerfully talking four figures, even on a SWB!! I'd say £1,500ish on an SWB... £2,000ish on an LWB... the amount of hours and materials that go into a job like that is just staggering!

That'd have some pricetag attached to it!! As has been said, I'm not feeling the wood aspect, but love the rest of the trimming. :)
