  1. Nah - if I'm gonna do this whole Zed thing, I'm doing it properly and going TT! :devil2:
  2. He's revised his eBay ad to state that it's NOT the TT model now. He sais he was sold it as a TT and it was something he never thought to check... if that's the case, I feel quite sorry for the guy.... :(
  3. That clears that up then! :thumbup1:
  4. Thank you!! The owner of this engine is determined that it's a TT lump! I just had to double-check (given my n00b status to Zeds) that I wasn't missing something.....
  5. Could someone please examine the pictures below and tell me what they see.....
  6. Big thanks to Bird for taking me out in his Zed this evening (and especially for letting me behind the wheel!) - massively massively appreciated! There is, however, a downside... I now absolutely have to have one!!!!
  7. As the opening post mentioned, it's the rear arches for me. I love wide-arched cars and, having owned a Manta 400 replica and an X-Pack Capri, I think all cars should have big hips! So I'd have some curves added to the hips. I like the wide arch kit available but I hate the bumpers! To be honest, I'd settle for an extra inch or so either side. I just think a 300 would look perfect with a little more weight on her hips. :)
  8. Yay!! Nice to see someone take the (not necessarily financially wise) decision to save a car they love!
  9. Yikes!! :scared: Hope the damage isn't too extensive and a major silver lining is that nobody was hurt...!
  10. Worth knowing. Thank you!
  11. Champion. So are things such as bumpers and doors interchangeable or not...? I imagine sideskirts won't be....
  12. So I'm presuming that the SWB has a reasonably large boot then? As the LWB has to incorporate rear seats into only 8" additional length?
  13. I've had a good hunt around here and the Interwebnet in general and I still can't find the answer...!! So I'm afraid I have to ask it here - I apologise in advance for this... *puts "n00b" hat on* Aside from the lack of rear seats, what are the actual physical differences between a SWB and LWB Zed please?? :ninja:
  14. Having had a look at a Zed seat internals, it might even be possible to cut the damaged foam out completely and replace it with a brand new section.
  15. The only real pitfall with increasing bolster size is that you'll ideally need to increase the dimensions of the seat cover too. The standard covers would simply squash your extended bolster into pretty much the same size as the original.
  16. I've always fancied one of these cars so, to that end, I'm hoping to find someone willing to offer me a ride out in their (preferably TT'd) Zed. I'm in Stanley but I don't mind travelling to wherever the car's based. Petrol money will, of course, be provided. Any offers....?
  17. The Corsa was doing 45 at time of impact, but the Zed was stationary at a junction?? Was it dark? Was it a junction on a blind corner? Was the Corsa driven by Ray Charles...?? I'd love to know how they justify doing 45mph a car length from a junction!! I'd be gutted if this was my car... to echo others' sentiments, at least the Zed's occupants are safe and sound - that's the really important thing.
  18. I'm my own boss as well as being employed full-time and I can relate to your position, mate. Even though there's a recession on (still!), I think now's as good a time as any to take the plunge! All I'll say is if you need any advice on the tax side of things (self assessment and what's claimable as an expense, etc), then drop me a line as I can offer any amounts of advice on that front. :thumbup1:
  19. Cheers, Graham! I've put an introductory thread in my new Trader section just now. I have a deadline this weekend to fit a newly trimmed Recaro interior to a Celica GT-Four but, once that's all done and dusted, I'll get myself settled in here properly. :thumbup1:
  20. I'm not sure what the (potential) mother-in-law's putting on for Christmas. All I know for definite is that I had to go and buy The Chase game for the evening... can't wait to see who's gonna play the part of the fat man in the suit.......
  21. If you take me for a quick spin out in your car, yeah.... :ninja:
  22. I've got quite a large portfolio already so there's plenty of pictures for everyone to peruse...
  23. I'm in Peterlee at present, but relocating to Stanley in January. I've got a full retrim on a Celica GT-Four to finish and fit this weekend - it'll look superb when it's all fitted! :thumbup1:
  24. Leatherwork, mate. Gaiters through to full retrims and everything in-between! I believe Groover's sorting my sub-forum out and then I'll be good to go. :euro:
  25. I see you've made the jump to CCUK now, fella - have a nose around my Corporate section on there as I've done a fair bit for the Gen 7 in recent times. :thumbup1:
