Rally Report.....
I've had more Mantas than enough in my time! From bog standard GT/Js through to GT/Es and Exclusives and a few 400 replicas (including a 3 litre conversion)... my first ever was a B series coupe that had been professionally converted to an aerotop! I keep looking at them on eBay and wishing I was richer... :(

Trial by media !!
The only reason all of this has come about is because somebody started the ball rolling by accusing Savile (who was too dead to say otherwise) of molesting them. Now, I'm not in a position to say whether Savile's guilty or innocent. Really, nobody's in a position to say that. Cos he's dead. The truth will never be known about him and his (possible) actions over the decades. One thing I will say on the whole "celebrity sex assault" thing is this: standards were very different back then. What's unacceptable now wouldn't necessarily have been out of the ordinary back then. I'm not talking about molesting children here - I'm talking about celebrities "enjoying" some of the benefits that their status brought at the time. DJs were one step down from bona fide rock stars in the 70s, and women would think nothing of throwing themselves at them because of that. As I said, things were very different back then... One thing I don't understand is why the DJs and celebrities are always identified at the point they're first accused! As Jeff said, one of the "victims" of DLT even stated in court that she had no memory of any sexual assault taking place. Surely, in the face of such weak (or non-existant) evidence, the police and the CPS should be holding back names until they something slightly more concrete to go on...?? [/my 2 cents]

Reshelling
I'm just weighing it up as a (possibly) cheaper way to have a SWB, mate. The likelihood is that all I'll ever do is talk about it... but I do fancy having a shortie...

Reshelling
Hmmm. Seeing it written like that makes it all sound relatively straightforward... :)

Reshelling
I'm just looking for some general opinions on the subject of reshelling. :) How labour-intensive is it likely to be to transfer a TT engine, loom and manual conversion into an NA auto bodyshell? Is it just likely to be far more hassle than it could ever be worth? I've already done a manual conversion but an engine / loom swap is daunting, to say the least!

Big thanks to Johnyboy!
You're very welcome, buddy :) :)

Big thanks to Johnyboy!
Aye, he's a cracking bloke. He sat reasonably quietly on Sunday morning watching TV whilst I was upstairs trimming a second set of doorcards for him... he only had the dog for company at times... :)

rear light question
There's no integral reflector on the crystal lights, no.

Big thanks to Johnyboy!
Johnyboy is deserving of a large round of applause (and drinks!) as he's been backwards and forwards to mine a number of times while I've been finishing off his interior for him... he's never ever late (lol) and he's always smiley and jovial. :) Even though the issues were out of either his or my control, he's never grumbled about the travelling at all. And he also took my balance bar away and returned all chromed and shiny! So "thank you, mate" - you're a true credit to both this club and humanity in general!

Shakedown at last

Feb 2nd 2014 - Falcon Performance meet
Cheers, Tom. :) Once I can sort the suspension out, it should feel more like a high-speed motor than it does now!

Feb 2nd 2014 - Falcon Performance meet
All being well, mine will get dyno'd early on this year, Tom. The previous owner did try to sell it as having "over 500 bhp" but somehow I don't think so... it may well have had the boost jets changed though so I reckon somewhere over 350bhp. One day, I'll get it mapped and set up nicely...

Good to have someone mechanically-minded in the NE who's prepared to learn about these cars :) And yeah, we can talk about my services if and when the time arises :)
