  1. Jap definately- all mine were imports- leather- genuine 50- 60K and looked as tho they had rolled out of the factory yesterday on top and underneath!!! Limited to 112mph in Japan (easily delimited) so not thrashed, and if you want to know about the condition of a lot of UK cars ask AndyZ- I've stripped one with him and hes done lot- bodies absolutely full of it! Came with Folding mirrors and sometimes some little extras- definately a good base for upgrading! Regards Dave
  2. Steves interior is my ambition for my Red Z. Meanwhile I'm still looking for a Series 2 Suede/alcantra panel that goes behind the seats on the SWB- would anyone possibly have one....and if not can the trimmers match the Suede/alcantra material easily and retrim my Tweed one? Regards Dave
  3. Take a trip to sunny Swanage and enjoy a warm welcome & a beer with your Conzult !! Regards Dave
  4. Amazing how the Mitsibishi owners feel they have to defend their corner- obviosly feel threatened!! Maybe you should tell the Americans on there Pete that our 2 + 2 cars were Twin Turbo unlike theirs, and set up for Europe.... not suffocated in the states!- love the comment from the Pontiac owner! Regards Dave
  5. Dave replied to a post in a topic in Events - UK
Put me down please!!.......Just got to find this place called Northampton  ....North of Watford???? Regards Dave :nana2:
  6. Started my Zedding @ 19 with my first 240Z which I wrote off....but still have the second 240Z along with a 280ZX and 4 Z32 300's - now 53 but still feel 19 inside!!!! ......and still love Zeds after a lifetime of them!!! Dave :nana2:
  7. Hi Interested in this but noone seems to have mentioned anyone changing the drier as part of the service? Was that not mentioned or costed?- always part of aircon service on my other motors. Also- how do Kwik fit measure change in vent temp on models with climate control? Regards Dave
  8. Hi Do check the throttle linkage is free and returns fully. I know this sounds daft, but for a while idle and revs rose, and then one day throttle started partially jamming open and it took some stopping by the side of the road. Found a little plastic cover had worked loose and jammed under! I know others have had similiar problems with a pipe on the front of the plenum coming loose and obstructing linkage- extensive posting on here. Just a thought! Regards Dave
  9. Ah... Hellraiser- just across the water from me I see! Yes they do- on the rev counter as in the pic- worst thing about them tho- I actually wondered if it would rub off with something but maybe it wont notice. Regards Dave
  10. Hi All Not very often I get excited  , but received some indiglo White Dials today that are as good as anything I've seen and a lot better price- £49.99 + 3.50 postage! They come with really good high quality instructions actually for the 300zx using pics of an actual instrument pod/ step by step. The dials themselves are TT and 180mph- and for the jap/ non converted this is of course the perfect time to fit a converter. They appear good quality and are made by/for this UK business. The numbers etc are clear and very like the originals- not the irritating italics I have seen on some out there. I bought with Paypal off Ebay (see below), but they are the same price all the time on their website (update!: even cheaper on website @£49.00!) . Ordered Sat 10th, posted Monday 12th, arrived Tuesday 13th! If you look at the links below- either Ebay or their website - you will see them lit- they even come with a dimmer which allows them to be either more blue or more green! :nana2: I am not connected with them in any way before someone asks, but thought there must be others looking like me- @ £50 got to worth a go- can't see any differences so far! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290092380008&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=019 http://www.visual-performance.co.uk Regards Dave :duffer:
  11. He said: "I think that we've got a corridor in east Anglia, London and the South East where somehow a dodgy batch of petrol has crept into the system." That would explain it as they all use a common refinery- a relief for the rest of us but a real pain if your affected! Conspiracy theory? Alqueda?
  12. So..............OK for Z's then?- just Mercedes having problems? Dave
  13. Thanks for warning, but I was told that all the stations in this area got there petrol from Fawley refinery (Southampton) and was the same?!!!!! Wouldnt that mean everyones fuel gives the same problem as they dont have seperate refinerys? Regards Dave
  14. Thanks for the leads re: BBS centre caps guys!! Will follow up- yes need 4! b.........ds probably sold them on Ebay themselves! Regards Dave
  15. I have a set of BBS split rims like RS200TEZ, but the centre caps were stolen some time ago- not had any luck finding new ones- can anyone suggest a source? Be very grateful as desperate!!! Dave

  17. Sounds useful- do you have a source? Gratefully Dave
  18. Wow! Many Thanks All  - a lot to think about!- will be in touch Andy.... I enjoy doing most things on engines- this would be a first but I have a spare set to do @ leisurely pace. The ebay kit is really priced @ £115.00 including postage which shouldn't be much- trouble is I havnt come across anyone else supplying kits although the odd member does say they have rebuilt their own. Thanks Again Guys- any contacts/ info gratefully received! Dave
  19. I was rather puzzled earlier this year when I tried to get a quote and was told they wouldnt handle imports any more- has this changed? Dave
  20. hi Looking for a kit to refurbish mine- came across this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=220061234451&rd=1&rd=1 has anyone used these- any good- any other suppliers- upgrades- is this about the right price & so on? Really appreciate the help. Dave
  21. Off the top of my head- and because I had the same problem until I looked it up and changed the speed sensor- if sensor U/S, speedo does not work (fairly obvious I know) and power steering cuts out after 25 seconds- Autobox goes into safe mode and will not change up beyond 2nd. (the 'Get you to garage' thinking) As Andy says- speedo must be getting a signal to function, and problem further on. Regards Dave
  22. Just received it & about to install it Dave! Really, really grateful - top man- look forward to that drink on the beach if you are down here this Summer! regards Dave
  23. Hi All Tried to access my old copy from years ago (many thanks Syko! :duffer: ) but XP refuses to open it :headvswal - anyone have a copy they could email me that works on XP perhaps? Would be exceeding grateful! Regards Dave
  24. Just been watching the pics of floods on the news and thought maybe a few owners might not realise how vulnerable the TT is when they are negotiating a small amount of water! A whiule ago I bought an immaculate TT from a guy who had been gingerly negotiating a puddle a few inches deep when a lorry coming the other way caused wash. The water was drawn in and ended up hydraulicing the engine, breaking a conrod and writing engine off. I've still got all the bits and it certainly did make a mess!- just bear in mind! Regards to All Dave
  25. A GREAT READ FOR ALL OF US FRUSTRATED TAXPAYERS!!!!! :headvswal Have you ever thrown your arms up in despair while trying to complete an official form and asked yourself "Just what is the point of this?" You're not alone. Red tape in Britain has reached epidemic proportions. In just 12 months the Government produced a shocking 3,621 pieces of legislation, running to a total of 98,600 pages. That's 70 times as long as War and Peace! - That there are 279 different tax forms for businesses alone, asking a total of 6,614 questions. - The notes explaining the Treasury's 'simplified' pensions' regime ran to 1,369 pages. - And why does the Inland Revenue feel the need to ask us on a tax return, whether we are deep-sea divers? - The law allows you to kill or give away a bullfinch - but not to sell or barter it. - A woman from Kilbride was given an ASBO forbidding her from answering the door in her underwear. - A council spent £5,000 planting yew trees to screen a new children's play area. It then dug them up again after health and safety experts advised children could fall ill if they gobbled 'several handfuls' of leaves. Red tape and more red tape... - One Police force discovered that it had a total of 1,150 different forms on which to report crimes. - There are 1,300 pages of road traffic law - and that does not even include the law preventing petrol stations selling hot food after 11pm unless they apply for a licence. - Employers must not hold important meetings on 31 October - it might discriminate against pagans, who, of course, celebrate the festival of Samhain on that day. - A motorist in Waltham Forest, East London, was fined for parking on double yellow lines that were not even there when he parked his car. The lorry painting the lines had drawn around the stationary vehicle. - The following things have been reported to be banned in at least one school: making daisy chains (risk of picking up germs); playing hopscotch (risk of injury); making anything out of egg boxes (fear of salmonella); putting hands up (makes pupils who don't have the answers feel victimised); and throwing paper aeroplanes (might cause eye injuries)... “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” (St Matthew 26.33) In just 16 words the Lord separated the sheep from the goats. If only the National Assembly of Wales could be so succinct. But sadly not. On 4 April 2006 it passed the Sheep and Goats (Records, Identification and Movement) (Wales) Order 2006, regulating the size, shape and colour of ear tags on Welsh sheep and goats. It ran to 45 pages. This dictates that the goat must not be moved (from one field to another!)unless it has an ear tag in place, and unless the details are recored in two seperate documents- the farmers own tag register and a movement document that accompanies the animal wherever it travels. Nothing is simple, even when its just common sense. Nothing exemplifies this better than the rules and regulations surrounding abandoned shopping trolleys. You and I might think it would simply be a case of the council ringing up any nearby super- markets and threatening to confiscate and crush any abandoned trolleys in their neighbourhood. But no! Under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act 2005, the council first has to devise a 'shopping trolley policy' by following these costly and labour-intensive steps: 1. CONSULT with the British Retail Consortium, the Association of Town Centre Management, the Association Of Convenience Stores, the police, landowners and local residents. 2. PUBLISH notice of its resolution in at least one local newspaper. 3. IMPLEMENT the new policy as long as permission is sought from the occupier of the land where the trolley was found. 4. STORE the removed trolley for six weeks during which time it may be claimed by the owner. 5. CLAIM costs of transport, administration and storage in exchange for returning the trolley AND THERES MUCH Extracted from ‘How to label a Goat’ by Ross Clark (Harriman House, £9.99) Order @ £6.50 (p&p free) by going on http://www.harriman-house.com/goat I’m not selling anything and don’t have a stake in this[/b]- just thought could be great present!! Could be very useful 'putting world to rights' later in the pub!! :duffer: Regards Dave :nana2:
