  1. Nice look to build towards. Any idea what the kit or parts are to do that?
  2. Don't know Gary, that's the Fast Jet side of camp, we don't venture over there. That parachute guy was a bit of an odd ball wasn't he :pinch: Everyone at work today has been quoting "Big time" at me haha
  3. Nothing here, 4.9 is a decent earthquake isn't it, because Richters are like decibels.
  4. I did it once in a Sea King... it was Very noisy and awful. The engineers remote control them in and out
  5. 28 cold. Thats my rule of thumb. 30ish then adjust to driving style and season and stuff. Perhaps 30 cold in winter. 27 in summer. (Standing by to be wrong ) I wouldn't necessarily go for a whole set of fancy arms. I haven't got them, but I have some, a couple of my joints polybushed. Here's me thinking: 1)Rose bushes can wear out more quickly than OEM style ones. 2)Someone on here... zed racer??? Got the full set and it took a shop like 5 hours to align his infinitely adjustable suspension and it cost him something like 500 pounds! 3)It is very possible to ruin a car with VNH, my experiment with this was an out of balance propshaft, kt was absolutely undriveable. If I ever VNH'd my car like that with solid collars or whatever I'd be furious with myself. 4)The cars handle fine without them. I probably will fit them at some point
  6. I was on that ridge for over 2 hours having given me coat away haha  20 seconds of fame  They've done a decent account of our place to be honest, not always the case with the media.
  7. And I've just had my first flight in one of these. What an absolutely awesome bit of kit. Clean, quiet, loads of power. Only weighs 2500kgs or so. Loads of information that is very clearly presented. 90 degrees angle of bank 150kts. What a great aircraft. Doesn't even use much fuel, 240kgs an hour. Compared to a Sea King! 21'000lbs, 100kts and 30 degrees agle of bank, 1200lbs of fuel an hour... unless of course we had the blue lights on... And my new office is clean bright and awesome.
  8. Hello, shameless plug, but tonight I'm on ITV coast and country at 8pm. They're doing an episode about RAF Valley and I think I'll have a decent part, I filmed quite a bit with a weather girl Ruth Wignall, out on the cliffs talking about SAR :) Unfortunately I think it's only showing on ITV wales though :-/ Ah well, keep an eye out if you're watching it later
  9. Happy Birthday Richard :) :thumbup1:
  10. Oh shit did he :( His car is still in Beaumaris. That's a real shame that would have been lovely :-/
  11. Thanks 007. Well we can all use my place as a stepping stone into the hills. Just PM and you're all welcome for a cuppa. Craig, was that for the guy in Beaumaris who is having his 70th this year?
  12. just think Si, if you'd had r888s on your car you could have saved your wing mirror... and that old Spanish lady!
  13. Annoyingly mate the only salt was on the motorway on the last leg so I dived into Tesco and gave it a good spray.
  14. Because the car handles really well, yes it slides about, but it's probably got better manners than my Honda Accord. I wasn't nervous, whenever it spun up or moved about I knew it was going to and never had more than 750 revs of wheelspin or a quarter turn of opposite lock. It just felt like one wheel would slip then take the other with it slightly afterwards. It's probably just the nature of a viscous diff.
  15. It was awesome. The car was very happy today for some reason. Perhaps it was the cold air or just the nature of my personality rich zed :) I may have only heard the old kickdown switch's 'tick' from the footwell mark full throttle about 3 times, but with something like 6mm of gas the car readilly lept off the stock boost gauge nearly every time it was pressed. Most of the drive was spent carving side to side like a hammerhead shark between welsh slate and hillside, seizing the chances for snarls of gas on shortening short straights. Twice today as I finally emerged from dark treecover to the bright open lakeside, I chirped and warbled as far as I dared venture up the rev counter then went to snatch 4th and realised I was already in it! God it pulls hard. The only slight concern is that my LSD isn't as L as I think it ought to be. The future will see this rectified
  16. I drove it in spectacular Snowdonia, which lived up to it's name today :) Pics!
  17. Since my diff swap mine is "proper wrong" 10s of mph and of course, it's only a part time speedo these days  Normally knocks off at 60mph indicated (45mph actual). I know the revs for 70, 60 and 30, then for the rest I'm eyes out anyway. When I have the car totally apart I will fix it all electronically.
  18. Caution! Tyre discussion! Warning Opinions inbound
  19. Happy belated Birthday Steve
  20. Happy birthday Jimmer :) :thumbup1:
  21. I wouldn't worry about it. You're talking mm on the differences, I bet it will be the width of a speedo needle. With regard to handling and stuff, you don't hoon about do you, the small difference in width is less of a factor than tyre brand and rubber and indeed old and new tyres. I personally think It'll be fine. What was your question about diffs? ^^^^
  22. You have got yourself a 'very' nice zed there. Lovely mate :) - - - Updated - - - Hang on... DICE!!! I take it back
  23. I used to use ACF50 on my motorbikes. Purple stuff, came in a fancy can, smelled nice. Enough hazard labels to readsure me it was powerful enough! That was American, Anti Corrosion Formula I think it was, or possibly Aircraft Formula.
  24. Ah... I jumped it off my accord then drove it for 90mins to charge up purely with the alternator. I've done that twice. Sorry battery
