Hi all...
Welcome to the forum :thumbup1: Really nice supra mate, I've always liked 944s too, what's it like?

Nearly all gone!
I've looked at that before and the numbers are hard to pin down due to all the variations and uk/jdm cars. However, the trend is very clear!

Look at these I know they are Recaros but not the model or part. These would be a good choice for an OEM+ interior. Anyone recognise them?

Is yours a manual or an auto? TT or Manual? I would imagine there are more ways an auto could do that than a manual. What brought it on? Have you changed anything recently? Have you washed your air filter in petrol? Or cleaned any of your inlet manifold with solvent???

What did you do to your zed today?
Thanks guys, Stephen you are quite right! I came here with a bag of scarves and gloves that I part-exed against some Tesco Ray Bans  I've had the nose for ages and tried to do it myself but it wasn't going to happen, so I Bodymeched it. And Simondo has helped me with this...

Much better. I did the radio mask too. When I have WiFi one day I will do a little something on the car. Thanks Bodymech.

New member and new 300 owner!
I have been suspicious of my filters getting damp for a while now, so I am fitting a stock nose panel today :)

With nut and bolt jobs I would use random garages if I had to, but with those "zed problems" like subtle miss firing, dodgy idles etc. Either do it yourself with advice from here, or find a local member to help you. People are great in this forum I am sure someone can help you. If I am ever passing by I will lend you a hand. Good luck mate, welcome to the club :thumbup1:

What did you do to your zed today?
Yeah man  there are good pubs and good roads down here so I hope we can get some zeds together around then. I was just intrigued by the idea Si, you're right, but my car has a lot of traction I think it could carry it off. I don't have my heart set on one. I do however need to re-bush and refurb.

Boost solenoids
When reduced boost is triggered it also changes the map onto a second map. So if you prevent the engine from reducing boost it will still drop onto a different map... That is my limited knowledge exhausted, it was explained by Noz just before christmas if you dig about.

Boost solenoids
I think they can still cause a safety map??? This has come up before. I removed mine from the vacuum system but left the wiring alone in case I worried the ECU.

What did you do to your zed today?
I am planning a visit to Jimmer this year, because I am "near by" to my standards at least. My year is something like, Wattisham Air Base (Ipswich) May+June, then here again till November, then a 3 monther in the Falklands. I hope to meet a few new faces this year. The Jimmer idea is to sort my rear subframe out, all new OEM arms and bushes, possibly polybushes and wheel bearings. HICAS delete, finally decided to lose it, and I will consider either an NA or fancy diff. What do you reckon Steve, sound like a plan :)

What did you do to your zed today?
I've been a bit quiet recently, I had a lot on my plate as we closed SAR Operations at Lossiemouth, went a bit wibble but then got better again  since then I have been on the road and now I am sat on SAR standby at Chivenor in Devon. Rather a change of scenery . However the good news, I managed to clear Lossie, with just enough time to do an interior swap on my parent's drive before heading to, Birmingham, Anglesey, Devon, all in the Zed :) It does GT well even mine, I have been a happy traveler. Then to top it all off, as well as some belting area recces round the south west  I was invited to take the car on to the abandoned airfield. This time it was proper above board and hasn't incured 3 months in the Falklands As a telling off! I used a tank of fuel and focused on drifting, the car does it very well, dry and wet, easilly arcing great lengths of runway in third in the dry. I hit 140 very easilly on the (not that long) strip. Flying over it today it looks like someone has been at the spirograph all across the airfield! I spun the car about 3 times but never stalled or came to a stop. I learned or rather consolidated a lot of 1/4 second skips and slides experienced on the road. I am now far more confident, I tried all sorts of stuff, including letting go of the wheel and just letting it do it's thing. The key point is that the car is set up well enough to do that, well built enough to do that for an extended period with all the gauges sitting central and all of the engine is still where it was before I started. One wheel bearing is now a bit grumbly... and my tyres went straight from a solid to a gas... and a pilot spun it onto the grass so there is mud on the roof  I will remove the mud, fit my nose panel and radio mask and get some pictures up. But the car has passed it's 2015 rebirth shakedown

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
That is an engine bay to be proud of Si, It was a solid and strong car before all that was done!

OEM under radio storage slot
Has anyome got a cubby hole that they would sell me? Either OEM or just a very good fit on the standard dash. Once I get it there will be some beautiful interior shots going up ...

Another Funkysi project car?
What it shows me is how hard it must be to make cars. It looks shit, but it's very close to lookingabsolutely fine. 1% different and iit'd be a trans am, or a zed. Subtlety different lines.

The end of an era, goodbye 202 Sqn D Flt.
Tomorrow will see the very last Sea Kings fly from RAF Lossiemouth and Leconfield, marking the begging of the end of yellow SAR. I won't get into the politics of it, it is important to remember that despite emotive and passionate grumblings from those who served and those that were saved, change was needed and is happening. We will have white helicopters in the future (2 days) but they will largeley be crewed by my friends and colleagues and hopefully by myself one day, perhaps even with me in the front seat. Anyway, today is my last 24 hours on D flt, we waved our goodbye to Scotland, got some decent cable out for the last time, dangling Scott round the back of the Ben and in the Cairngorms. We sit now, eating cake and playing guitar, relfecting with nostalgia upon the patch we patrolled, and our small contribution to the 78 years that Yellow helicopters that have done so. Goodbye Lossie.
