  1. Last night on my way from Cumbria to croydon a wan**r ran into the back of my car flat on at around 10 to 15mph while I was sitting at a red light! I was fkn fuming and was only stopped from killing him by the presence of my 5 yr old daughter. There isn't any noticeable damage but the exhaust tone had definitely changed on the left bank. What other things are likely to have been damaged that I can't see? Also my nice quiet engine is now ticking like mad! Could a rear shunt damage the engine??? On a funny note though when I got back in the car my daughter who was asleep at the time piped up and said "I shit myself coz I thought it was a giant hale stone!" Normally I wouldn't have been happy at all with her language and she would have been told off but it did put a smile on my face:biggrin: She recently had a bad experience with hale stones on the way from school when they hit her in the face, she was convinced the rain was trying to kill her and walked to school the rest of the week with her cycle helmet on! Paul
  2. Im trying to stay away from the letting agents due to the ridiculous admin fees and deposits!
  3. Hello everyone, I'm changing jobs so am going to have to move from croydon to Colchester and I need somewhere to rent. New company's giving me £2000 to help out with the move so am going to be looking for a 2 bed flat/house/apartment although I might take a 1 bed if I have too. Will be happy paying upto £500 a month Does anybody know of anywhere? Paul
  4. Were you at mate? I'll come out and help you if I can Paul
  5. I do. All my installs are tidy and loomed up with Tesa cloth tape. I do my installs to a formula 1, find out were all the electrical pick up points are before starting the job. 2, figure out the locations of were your going to install the equipment and the cable routing. 3, run the wiring with existing car loom if possible and hide all unused wires in the loom doubled over were they can be identified and used in the future if required. It's so easy to do but as I see all the time it seems to be beyond most people. It took me 2 days to remove the disaster of wiring that was in my car when I got it and I'm still finding wires that I can't identify!
  6. You could always try toning out the wires for continuity and only replacing damaged ones
  7. I think I can? I can have a go if you want Paul
  8. I'm pretty sure there will be a few different gauges. What your doing sounds like a massive task and you would have to get it right first time. Are you sure the harness is the problem after 3 failures?
  9. I've spoken to my supplier and the group buy price for 5+ of the systems are 1, push button start/stop module £83 (was £95) and includes vat and delivery 2, push button system with keyless entry and remote start alarm £175 (was £193) and includes vat and delivery The factory that makes them will be shutting down next week for the Chinese New Year so will realistically be after the 6th February before I can put the order in
  10. THATCHAM cat1 alarms can only be deactivated by there own fob or emergency touch key/pin. The start/stop button will work with these as it is activated by a neg pulse from the alarm and can't be used unless it gets this signal. This pulse can be taken from the alarms unlock CDL output. I'm going to ask my supplier for some prices and there will be 2 variations available 1, push button system on its own 2, push button system with RFID PKE remote start alarm system
  11. Yes I have and it is. Also if the button or the brake is pressed while it's locked it will set the alarm off - - - Updated - - - Yes that's fine by me
  12. I'll just do my best not too touch the brake and the button together, am promising nothing tho!
  13. Possibly, but no idea what:wacko:
  14. The button only activates after you put your foot on the brake. You could easily wire it up so it's linked to the park inhibit wire aswell
  15. No because you have to put your foot on the brake to activate the button. I suppose a beeper could be easily added that comes on when the button activates
  16. Yes it will. I've now got my film director/producer hat on and the video will be posted in the next hour
  17. The same as what happens when the battery in a normal fob dies, you use the key to open the door. Look at top pic And its RFID PASSIVE so the lock/unlock doesnt run off a battery its like the transponder chip in your ignition key
  18. It's got door/boot/bonnet protection plus a single zone microwave sensor. It's not insurance approved as it only has a single circuit immobiliser built in (mines an auto so that's all that's needed). It has remote start built into it aswell. They do do a system that has the same features as mine but with a fairly decent 2 way pager built in aswell(1km range)
  19. Yeah u get everything you need. £95 delivered inc vat
