Nissan FAST software gives you more inf than the Z32 Technical article does eg. DD/MM/YY & factory where the car was manufactored and every thing on the original assembley line order form.

Another idle problem
"Try this" You just earth out pin 44 on the auto transmission ECU then reset the timeing to 15BTDC @ 750RPM

Need help !
To bleed clutch you jack the front of the car up as high as you can this makes it easier to clear the air from system ,then bleed the clutch from the bleed nipple in the engine bay near the drivers side front susp.tower. It useally takes a few bleeds to clear the air from the lines. Some times you have to just crack the slave cylinder fitting first to get the fluid down to the slave cylinder then tighten up before you bleed the system.Power steering fill the reservor first with auto transmission fluid "Warning" not power steering fluid leave the car for about 10mins. then start the car and let it idle untill cavartation noise goes away then turn the steering wheel left and right to clear the pressure lines then check oil levall. "Do not hold the steering wheel on full lock" If the Hicas solenoid was removed you then have to bleed the Hicas cylinder lines untill clear.

The dreaded "is it my turbos?" question!
[1] The PCV valves on 300ZX are none to gum up & jam lots of oil in the hoses meens that they could be jamed open. [blue smoke] repair or replace valves [2] Blue smoke when you start the engine cold can be leaking turbo seals another check is to take the car for a run to get the turbos hot then let it idle for 5mins. then give it a rev to about 5500rpm and see if the exhaust smoke is blue [oil smoke]if so check both pressure turbo hoses for oil on the hose walls, replace effected turbo seals [3] take the oil cap of and check for excisive crank case piston rings blow by. [exhaust blue smoke] to prove do a compression test on all 6 cylinders.[4] Run down a steep long hill with the excelerator off then open up wide at the bottom of the hill [blue smoke]can mean valve guides worn or turbo seals leaking. [5] gray to black smoke is fuel rich mixture. [6] Light grey to white smoke is moisture or water useally cold engine or a blown head gasket,to check gasket relieve radiator cap pressure carefully first then check for lots of bubbles surfaceing in radiator coolent or do a compression check on all 6 cylinders.

'Heavy' steering
On a 300ZX you must use auro transmission fluid eg.Dexron"Warning"not power steering fluid I made the mistake once it caused the steering to feel heavy and notchy changed the oil then it worked OK.

Brake pedal pulsates with 350z discs......help!
Once under heavy braking the left front wheel hit some oil on the road I felt a ABS pulse effect coming through peddle on my 300ZX and it just felt like a warped rotor.

Engine timing
If you install a auto ECU in a manual gearbox car you just earth out the pin on the ECU so when hot you set the timing to 15 BTDC @ idle and when you put it into gear it stays @ 15 BTDC until you start to excellerate. An Auto ECU in a auto gearbox car the pin is wired up through the switch to stop the car from stalling and to give it some power when you put the car into drive because the timing is advanced from 15BTDC idle to 25BTDC to over come the torque converter braking effect.

Brake pedal pulsates with 350z discs......help!
When you fit wheels on a z car tighten the wheel nuts with a torque wrench Nissan advice you to do this because of warping of the rotors can happen if not tightened to the correct ft/lbs torque. Check the rotor run out with a dial indicator if OK to specs. check the ABS braking system, pedal will pulse if tyers are braking traction!

piston crack
As I said back in Aussie land the damage has been done by the engine detonating , do a rebuild and get a good Dyno tuner and spend lots of Aussie $$$$. ZX will run at 21psi boost if the tune is perfect and the engine is in good order. Myself I do not run with a boost over 14psi with a Dyno tuned NISTune ECU FITTED.

In Australia the rules are you must have these upper brake lights fitted,I wonder if the rules are the same in the UK.

ECU (setting to manual transmission)
Go to aus300ZX.com/tech section your answer should be in there ,a lot of Z owners on this site have done this earthing the pin conversion or www,ttxtz.com/tech/lee/ECCS_colored_m.gif This will give you a colour code and pin out numbers from the ECU.

Nistune tuner
Go to NISTune .com.au sight in Australia and send a meassage to Mat about your problem , he will or may be able to advise you how to get help in Norway or Sweden [Dyno turner agents] and a bat. file for E85 so you can Dyno tune your car . I have been useing a Dyno Tuned NISTune ECU in my 300ZX TT for the last 4 years with out any problems running on 98 oct. petrol.

Looked up the pin out info wrong- ecu advice
If you use a auto transmission TT ECU you must eath out pin 21 on the ECU then retime the engine to 15 deg BTC.- G/day from down under.
