If it is a genuine 1993 car, then it should be a series II, which means no more sh1tty tweed on the interior, better heater system and seatbelts in the right place...
  2. Yep looks good Fas, Can't wait to see it for real...
  3. Thanks for the responses The compressor was a little hard to turn by hand, could this resistance cause the fuse to blow? I am going to undo the hardwiring of the sub-fan and replace the relay. Then I am going to pick up a few more fuses and see what happens. I'll keep you posted...
  4. Likewise, PM'd you twice ages ago. no pack yet?
  5. I called out the air con regassing bloke today. He's a nice bloke and has worked on my cars in the past. Firstly we found that the 10A air con fuse had gone. simple, just swapped it with the fuse for the horn and we're away. He has got the car hooked up to his monitor and it is working nicely, got the air temp down to 8 degrees. Then he looks at the sub fan (in front of the normal rad) which should have kicked in by now to make sure the system doesn't get too pressurised and it's not working. After a bit of fiddling about we found that this does work when it is hard-wired, it seems that whatever circuits are supposed to tell it to come on are not working! So, we leave the fan hard-wired and start the whole process again. Fine for about 3 seconds then blows the original 10A fuse again! I am at my wits end. Does anyone know where I should be looking? Thanks, Mike...
  6. Also, good Samco hoses should keep their shape no matter what...
  7. I was thinking along similar lines, but I'll try and phrase it a little better. LOL Surely Silicon hoses will keep the charge air cooler than metal hard pipes as they will not conduct heat. Is that what you meant Burf2000?
  8. Thanks Leigh, I think I will go for that setup too. Ohh, I need a payrise!
  9. Fas, when I saw this thread my first thought was that you would be driving the new Zed when you meet me later. I guess I will have to wait until saturday too. Anyway, the colour looks good, I can't wait to see what else has been done...
  10. screw what you guys think, I love it...
  11. You know where I am. It says on the left here... Oh, and thanks for starting the organisation.
  12. Great. That is exactly the sort of thing I am looking for. Not only will it pick up detonation but it would also notify you about other unnatural noises coming from the engine block. SO - The knock sensor that comes as stock on the Zed, is this what most people call the Det sensor? Also, if the stock knock sensor only works up until 3000rpm I presume it cannot be used with the KnockLink?
  13. I am about to show my ignorance. I didn't know the Zed had a knock sensor as standard! I was thinking that it would be sensible to get an aftermarket sensor so that I would know if there was any dangerous noises coming from the block before, during and after increasing boost. Is the stock sensor any good? Does it just put the car in safety boost when it detects a problem? Sorry for all the questions, I am a bit naive...
  14. I agree and I nominate you to organise it! Seriously though, it needs to be done...
  15. Yeah I sympathise, I would like to be spotted more often. What were you doing in St Albans mate?
  16. 1. Where should I start looking for a knock sensor? 2. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for? 3. What sort of prices should I be paying? Thanks.
  17. I agree with that completely. Also, if you are going to respray you have to think about resale value. Stock Nissan colours will allow you to retain some value to your Zed. Did you see that F&F bright green zed? I think it was a N/A Auto, sitting on 20" rims. It was for sale for ages, I don't think he could give it away!
  18. Royal - I shouldn't really be saying this without having been to the pod myself but those reaction times are woeful. LOL. I'm really just jealous. Loving the banana, Mike...
  19. Nice one mate, Hope to see you on here again at some point. I'm keen to see what your next project will be...
  20. You're not far from Ztech, they should be able to help you with all of the above. Junction 14 off the M4. Hope that helps...
  21. The surfing is on the back burner at the moment unfortunately. I off to Hong Kong at the end of July then Koh Samui in September, I've got loads to do on the Zed plus I need to save for a snowboarding holiday in the winter! I need a second job!
  22. I've surfed bigger waves than that. you guys are woossies! LOL I've noticed that sarcasm really doesn't work in text form, does it?
  23. There are lots of things I don't like, but I try to stay positive and help out. My front bumper doesn't hang too low, I don't have side skirts or a rear valance and it all looks fine. I hope that helps...
