  1. got all my parts from andy "z" at supercarparts. full kit cost £600ish. had the conversion done by zedworld for £500. also got a rps street clutch from smithy (did get standard clutch in the kit from andy), as i have had the boost turned up and the standard clucth cant take much more than stock power apparently. rps cost £350. best thing ive ever done on my zed! :D (and now im selling :( ) i can get you the numbers of the above places if you want them? hope this helps, gaz!

  3. ive heard the auto is quicker to 100mph, but from having both i would say there was no way the auto was faster to 60mph but maybe slightly faster to 100mph.............does my english make sense??? :confused:

  6. ive had my zed for over 2 and a half years........and the first 18mnths were a nightmare!!! auto blew up and so did the engine. however, i have now had a manual conversion done and a new engine fitted (all done by zedworld) and i cant fault the car. i did manage to get some money back from the garage i got it from, but it REALLY did my head in at the time. the thing is i did what everyone on here tells you NOT to do.......i got a cheap one that i was "assured" was good by this particular garage. it cost over £3k in bills. if i had put that towards the price of another zed i would of got a minter. my advice is listen to what people have to say on here, and do your research. ...............by the way my now VERY GOOD zed is up for sale. look in cars for sale (username gaz300zx) ;) (dont think i did a good job of trying to sell it here, did i??? :nelson: )
  7. manual all the way for me. went through 3 autos and then converted to manual.................not everyones as unlucky though!!!
  8. i wouldnt worry, he looks a very intelligant and carefull young man. i dont think he will be doing anything naughty with that................... YEH RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :slap:
  9. mines got quick shifter and sports clutch, and 2nd does "grate" a bit when cold. 5th seems fine though. even so, gotta admit i would never go back to auto, i think getting my zed converted to manual was best thing i ever did. :confused: after 3 auto boxes in 2 years :nono: :nono:
  10. easy to replace??? :confused: when someone finds something easy to do on the zed please let me know! ;) not sure what the pipe is im afraid. taking it that its guna be water,air or fuel (sorry for stating the obvious)? where does it connect to?
  11. got baileys on mine from ebay. cost £205 and sound pretty good. they arent the loudest ones out there but i suppose it depends what you want.

  14. not for deffinate but it may have to be this way, as im looking at buying a larger window cleaning business for myself, so need to raise some cash. with the prices on these cars going all over the place i was wondering what you think a fair price would be for mine: h reg (dec 90) TT targa jap spec 91k (new engine fitted at 85k thats done less than 60k) manual conversion ecu/boost upgrade rps street clutch from smithy short shifter bailey BOVs k+n induction kit decat and rage stainless boxes samco turbo hoses aftermarket nose cone (bomex i think) smithys braided petrol hoses and red silicone pipes 99 spec rear lights aluminium interior trim kit red vinyl retrim uk spec rear alloys thatcham immobiliser. 8 months mot, 4 months tax jvc cd head unit jbl 6x9s in the doors (although dont think they are good IMO) the car is in good condition. there is slight flaking of paint on rear spoiler, and small paint blister on drivers rear arch. tweed seats with light wear to drivers seat. air con needs gasing (although would prob do this). i have got all the original tools, targa bags and targa roof covers.....still got the flare!! loads of receipts for work done, particularly from jeff at zedworld. as said its not for deffinate, if i can afford to keep it i will do. just thought i would get some ideas of what you think i should be looking at for it? will try to get some more pics on tomorrow, this is the only one i can upload at the min.
  15. the engines only done 6k miles, so im hoping there aint any head gasket probs. :(
  16. right..... on the way back from JAE the temp guage went from just under halfway straight up to the top in a couple of seconds........then it dropped back down........then few seconds later it went back up again. ive heard the temp guages can be rubbish so i presumed that this was the prob, a dodgy guage. when i got back home i topped up the water just to be on the safe side, and all seemed fine. a couple of days later i parked the car facing downhill and when i came out to the car after an hour or so there was a puddle of water just under the expansion bottle. i presumed that i had just overfilled it plus the fact it was a boiling day, that this is why it had "dumped" a bit of its load. anyway, today driving from scarborough to york the guage started playing up again. so when i stopped i had a fiddle with the temp wires to check they were ok, and thought i would check the water. when i did check the water i couldnt find any!!! :shock: i filled the rad up with about 4 pints of water and coolant (thats when it started to reach neck of rad). now it doesnt seem to be dropping any water apart from the one time mentioned, there isnt any sign of it in the engine (foam/cream in top of oil cap), no pipes are pressurising..........i dont know where its going!!! :confused: just wondered if anyone had any ideas/advice for us? thanks in advance!!

  18. had a little play with a scooby the other night. as has been said they are ok up to 60ish but then after that zed has the edge. this particular moron however thought it would be funny to hit his brakes for no reason (apart from the fact i was just about to overtake!!)!!!!!!!!!! thing that annoys me is why do people get such a big chip on their shoulder if someones cars that bit faster. ive had cars quicker than me (in my old v6 calibra...not the zed :tongue: ) and ive never felt the need to try and make them crash/swerve etc. all i can say is "guy in the scooby in scarborough, youre a muppett" :slap:
  19. zedworld do a speedo conversion / delimiter, they did mine for about £130ish. or you can just buy the part and fit yourself for about £50. (have seen on ebay for £40)
  20. i could be wrong (often happens) but........you have had your rear spoiler removed at some time. when this is done the problem piece i think is replaced as when the old spoiler is taken off it leaves a bit of a mess. could be its not fitted quite right???? is only a guess anyway. plus your thread looked a bit lonely ;) gaz!
