Saw one driving down the motorway here once... It went into my automotive spank bank.

No point leaving it on around town you're just putting more strain on the motor than needed.

Contemplating getting a 260z
I love my 300zx, and i have put over 1000 hours into it. Alas, the alure of the origional z's is getting to me. 240z is out of my budget by a long shot. Was wondering if i could direct fit 240z tail light section into the 260z? Also if there was anything to be wary of. Here is the one i'm looking at: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/cars/nissan/auction-422328737.htm Any input greatly appreciated guys.

Finally got one after a year of waiting for insurance :P photos!!
Yeap seen many failures myself.... form over function seems to = crash. I dont really see a purpose in buying nice wide wheels then putting piddly tyres on them just to make your car look nice, i know a few guys running 18x10's with 245's on the rear.... i've gone for 285's on my 18x10's, minimum i would ever go would be a 265.

i had a set of 18's from a 350z on mine, popular opinion was no spacers needed on front but i had to run a 3mm slip on spacer to clear the calipers on the front, and the tyre profile they had rubbed on the front upright as well so you need some low profiles.

Common cause of alternator problems is a leaky power steering pump as it is right above the alternator, make up a little shield to go between the two to save future headaches, and check your p/s pump out as well.

Heavy steering
From what i have read a failing speed sensor on the gearbox is the most common cause of faults.

Rewiring most of the car.
Lol in those pics they wern't run through, but they go under the plenum and duck in just behind the timing belt cover so they don't run along the front, i'm still trying to come up with a solution for the CAS wiring, not really much i can do with it... Also other silly things to do that you gotta think about ie, the windscreen wiper wiring. and running that so it won't get water in it. taken a bit of a break from the engine, finishing all the drive train off should be on her feet for good in about 3 days... then once the wiring is done i'm good to go, so close... 16 months now.... was meant to be an engine replacement.... somehow since then the car has got a new shell, drivetrain from the old car, tints, wheels, coilovers, susp arms, full kit, and end to end going over from a shell... if anybody is contemplating this i think you're insane, but at this point getting so close, it still seems worth it.... i can see the finish line now, everything left to do i can count on my fingers. and just little jobs. now i just need to find somebody to be my pedal pusher to bleed the brakes lol
