Crap news and help needed
MJP do replacement sills for around £150. When I bought my car I had a bit of welding to be done, it was on the inner and outer sills on all 4 corners. Just be aware that the rot can go high up on the bodywork, mine was rotten well above the line along the lower part of the door!

Color change thread
Hey, thats what I'm doing next year! Don't give him ideas lol.

I did go for a little drive today, and for some reason the standard boost gauge didn't seem to go into positive boost. Power seemed ok in negative boost driving normally (auto lol) and seemed a little hesitant when I hit the motorway. Would that suggest the wastegates are closed or something?

I'll be in the hunt probs around March time to be honest with you :( Once Christmas is over, I'll start to put the money aside for the conversion. My ex BF used to have an R33 GT-R, but I loved the Z more than it :)

Yeah, it'll have a manual box eventually, but because the turbo gave up, it became a priority to sort that out. It's just a case of putting the money together and getting it, but theres lots of other niggly problems to do too :(

I think the sensor itself is fine, I didn't have the fault code prior to the turbos being changed, so perhaps it's a loose connection or something. If you're suggesting a remap, it's probably the route I'll go. Going to change the fuel filter this week as it's a quick and easy job (for the mechanics at my works :D) and save up for a proper setup with proven dyno printouts. I'm also looking at an AVC-R, but are those a bit fiddly to install on the Z?

Does he know what he's got ?

DynoDay 17th Dec (Sunderland)
Nice to have had a natter Stellaz, we did get some runs going in the end, they had to use the other set of rollers, and an hour and a half phone call to Australia later. Done a post in the "Help and Advice" section to sum everything up :p

so what should the figures be normally then? I'm also getting a code 34 (det sensor circuit) on the ECU, but no MIL light on the dash though. Can the Nissan consult tool adjust the fuelling too? Most of the time I'm well under 3k RPM though, and being an automagic, it's harder to want to floor it, especially in this weather :)

So I went on the dyno today, but unfortunatly I didn't complete a run. 3 weeks ago, my o/s standard turbo decided it didn't want to be a turbo again, and it was absolutely kerfuffled. Smoking like a good'un and making a horrid grinding noise. Fitted some GT25 hybrid turbo's by Turbo Technics (supplied by Kinugawa Turbo on here) and I ran it in a little bit. I've done about 60-80 miles since fitted and at first it was idling pretty bad, with old oil pluming out of the exhaust still. It has since cleared up, and before the dyno run, I got it up to temperature, and made sure that it was given a decent run out before it went on the rollers. When it came to the run, it was throwing a lot of smoke out of the back where the buggered turbo was, and the air fuel ratios were showing 14 at half throttle, and 17 at idle. Now, I'm a bit dim, but I don't know what that is. They said it was running lean (which I had suspected), but what should be the course of action to take? It did make 108bhp at 3.25k RPM though, which is barely in boost :D

Just bumping this and wondering if anyone is coming down to watch/run :) 4 confirmed runners, with another possible 8. I've got a couple of things to check on mine before I can confirm, but I will be there in the Z.

Just fitted GT25 turbo's and...
Initially it was with the engine in place. On the n/s turbo he couldn't reach one bolt, so he had to drop the engine out. I'm not sure if they done anything with the wastegate actuators, but Kinugawa Turbo had these on before me, and I guess it would have been left at the same settings as what he had. I don't want to go back to them without knowing exactly what's wrong first, because they done me a huge favour with the job at only £500 labour, and it was on the ramps for 2 weeks. While they've removed it, they've done something with the blowers so it doesn't work at all. It's a '91 electronic thing, but with any setting theres no fan at all. There is heat coming from them though. He did say that he didn't remove the unit, but it could just be a plug or something. It's just really cold, and I have to drive with the window down if I don't want it to fog up :(

Just fitted GT25 turbo's and...
Hey Jeff, Well I used to work for them, and I phoned them to see if they had it and they said they did. At my current works, we do have a Snap-On Solus Pro, so I'm trying to find time to see if I can pull the A/F ratios off there. Before they were fitted I could hit the limiter no problem, although the o/s turbo was progressively getting worse, so I can't really see it being an issue with coil packs. After Christmas I'm going to give it a new set of plugs though, and it's had 4 oil changes in 200 miles already! LOL.

So how would I do that? I don't do the work myself, but I'm not sure the garage is good with performance stuff.

Just fitted GT25 turbo's and...
Well, tonight I tried again and I got 5.5k RPM safely, and I could hear it popping a little. I'm trying to get a time sorted to visit my local Nissan garage to plug a Consult in and see if any faults are listed, perhaps it can tell me something. Going to a dyno this weekend, and that should shed some light on the air/fuel ratios. Is there any kind of adjustment with the wastegates on the Z32's? A friend said 200SX's had them stock.

MOT 90-93 Cars
I've just asked our MOT tester, and he said cars from H reg onwards MUST have a catalytic converter fitted. Now I'm sure I read somewhere that imports up to 1995 are exempt from this too. I'll check that out later.

... I can't go over 4.5k RPM. It just stops everything, and it cut out on me when it was at a junction selecting from 2nd gear to drive. Is there anything I can do without a remap, as I was planning on taking on a dyno to see the numbers and air to fuel ratio. It's more than likely lack of fuel, but I'm hoping that the ECU might relearn the settings. When they were initially fitted, revs were erratic but I never went over 2.5k RPM until yesterday. Any advice on this would be superb :) Thanks x

DynoDay 17th Dec (Sunderland)
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure why it's more. There will only be 1 4WD running as far as I know too. Maybe it's the charge for getting a 2nd set of rollers onto it? It starts at 10am, and it's cash only as the office will be closed that day (to keep costs down). I'm in 2 minds about running, but I'll be there in my rust bucket. Just had some uprated turbo's fitted after the o/s drastically failed. Smoking like hell from that exhaust where oil has collected, but I only picked the car up yesterday and don't want to thrash it too soon :)

Well, unless it's got some kind of filter on, it just looks far too dark to be TV2 colour :)

HD ready and full HD difference
For a taste of the future, here is 4k HD video on Youtube, set it to Original then watch in full screen. *WARNING* You must have a VERY good internet connection and computer (mostly RAM and CPU) for this to work properly. The amount of detail that you can see is amazing.

HD ready and full HD difference
This picture basically sums it up. You've got to imagine that the image is stretched onto exactly the same size TV. HD Ready is 720, while full HD is 1080.
