  1. Can anyone familiar with Alpine headunits such as my one below tell me if the cage in the following link is suitable as my universal one isn't. I'm guessing it is the right one but would like clarification before committing. Thanks guys http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B003JIB6I0/ref=aw_d_pd_automotive Also, any idea what type of keys I'll need to remove it?
  2. I've used them as well they're good to deal with. I requested a lower value on the declaration at the risk of it only being insured at that value which saved me quite a few quid
  3. Are the down pipes 4 or 5 bolt? That night help you narrow down what to get
  4. http://bigpower.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=20563 I've been following it over there, not any updates since the end of summer though
  5. It looks so primitive now, and to think of the amount of hours I used to play that game!
  6. Did he do a good job?
  7. Who was that trader on here a while back who did custom fab work? He did some work for Dan making some intercooler piping
  8. Yes that was as I got it, looks completely different now
  9. Yeah that's right, need to flog them actually thanks for the reminder!
  10. Yeah they are bird, a twin setup with a MAP sensor. No idea who did them as it was imported with them. Now it's all back to stock just with some high flow cast manifolds. All the custom gear will go on at a later date once I've got the tubs refurbished, there was compressor wheel damage one side and apparently the turbines don't look too sharp either.
  11. Nah, they're IHI turbos with custom manifolds. Unsure of the brand of the wastegate I'll have a look next time I'm with the car
  12. External wastegate with tubular manifolds
  13. Jerrick, looks like a fantastic product, can it start a 1.9tdi?
  14. Please tell me you guys are working on a twin scroll setup!?!
  15. Nice Leon Si, yeah my new Mk1 makes me drive like a bit of an ass as well, taking it to the slopes in France in Jan!
  16. I'm more interested in seeing the Leon
  17. Yeah same here, bit beyond my control unfortunately and I can't justify the time and fuel to drive down for the day from Norwich
  18. Guys I'm afraid my plans have been changed and I won't be in the SW this weekend  Have fun and don't forget the pics!
  19. For me it was to much hassle preping, masking and spraying multiple coats for it to not even be that tough. It got marked by the straps putting the engine back in so personally I'll just get it powder coated next time. So much more variety in colours and finishes as well.
  20. I painted mine in VHT. Personally I'd have it powder coated if I have it off again
  21. Touch wood it's not given me any grief since :thumbup1: I just got another Mk1 in grey but much lower mileage with the suspension, brakes and exhaust uprated. I've spoken to Noel who's hopefully going to remap it for me next year :thumbup1: Have you ever remapped any of yours Si?
  22. I'm still up for it, the only thing that will stop me being there is the immobiliser fault I've hopefully just sorted on my Leon.... :censored:
  23. Nice one Andy! My money was on yourself, Phutumsch or Groover giving me the answer :thumbup1:
  24. In my Seat Leon I have a cigarette lighter socket in the boot which I have plugged a usb converter into, then run a 3m USB extension through the car and plugged a 4 port USB splitter into that to charge multiple devices. When I plug my Tom Tom into the splitter it thinks I'm connecting it to a computer. If I plug directly into the USB extension cable it doesn't, it just charges. My question is, is there any way I can stop it thinking it's connecting to a computer? I took the splitter apart and found there's 4 wires running into it. I'm presuming 2 are for power and 2 for data transfer? Can I cut the data transfer wires just leaving the charge, or is there a better option?
