  1. Ive heard that no.6 injector can suffer from low fuel pressure due to being the last one on the rail and furthest from the fuel feed inlet.......and was wondering if there is any advantage to blocking the the original fuel inlet on the rail and introducing a tee-piece into the hose that joins the two sides of the rail at the front, so theoritically both sides of the rail are feed from a central point and the pressure should be fairly equal on both sides........discuss :)
  2. I removed mine and it surprising how much it all weighs!, and I believe that removing the compressor has improved airflow to the passenger side turbo and keeps it cooler.i removed the condensor but left the electric fan in as a back-up for the viscous fan.
  3. cheers mate :)...........i may have to start offering my services!, lol.once I have changed the plenum I might polish my old one and offer them on an exchange basis!? :)
  4. Bigger injectors were from canada, gaskets and seals from nissan and hoses from local motor factor. The silver pipes off the camcovers are part of the pcv circuit and connect to the rubber hoses off the turbo pipes.these hoses contain a restrictor and 'flame arrestors' and arent just plain hose. The paint I used isnt heat proof as such but is very resilient :)
  5. Well......my new injectors arrived yesterday, got my dta chip, 6 new injector connectors and all the gaskets, seals and hoses I need so its good to go as soon as I get time.going to delete my egr and tidy/hide some wiring as well while im at it so there may be a bit of swearing and scraped knuckles going on!, lol :)
  6. Dont forget though that the engine will be tight (new bearings, pistons etc etc) plus if you have fitted uprated turbos and altered the fuelling with bigger injectors and ecu chip (cant remember what youve done to it) it may be that a lumpy idle is the trade-off for higher performance higher up the rev range.i know from experience that a lot of tuned engines suffer from a fluctuating idle which can be very hard or near impossible to cure.if it fluctuates by 100 to 150 rpm then theres something up with mine as it does that too when its warm but then again my v6 calibra would fluctuate by that much when that was warmed up as well.
  7. It could be that it needs running on the road for a bit and once the engine has bedded in a bit and the ecu has relearnt its settings it may settle down.....just a thought :)
  8. Only thing you need to do to fit 350z front brembos is drill the caliper bolt holes from 12mm to 14mm as the 350z bolts are larger diameter
  9. Have you checked your vacuum caps are in place?(there may be a few if you have deleted stuff).......i lost a blanking cap off the balance bar and that caused a hunting idle, fitted a new cap and all was well again. Edit.....just noticed you checked for leaks.......what plugs you got in it?, as I had a lumpy idle issue with ngk iridiums in and was advised by Jeff and a few other people to change them for standard plugs and that sorted it out straight away.
  10. If you pull the autobox ecu out that should stop the light flashing...........and no spark could be alarm problem. take this little bugger out of passenger footwell :)
  11. Looking good mate...............subframe looks nice in that colour :)
  12. Its a natural oil that swells rubber and makes it more supple......just wipe it on, leave for 5-10 mins then wipe off excess.wd40 amd stuff like the drys rubber out and can make it brittle. It also works well on rubber camcover seals etc! :)
  13. Going to fill my sills with it now they are welded...........should be fun ad I usually end up looking like al jolson after using the stuff!.
  14. I do mine regular........got a bottle from tescos for about £2.50 :).i do my boot seal etc with it as well
  15. How many of these bays are daily drivers?............
  16. Cheeky bugger, ive got a good head of hair!,lol ;) The waxoyl party was a bit of a joint effort.....i started and lee got carried away!,lol :)
  17. Pop in anytime mate the kettles always on!.......and mine and lees zeds are always there.be good to meet you :)
  18. Ive still got bloody waxoyl in my hair! :)
  19. Monkfish Performance (holden/vauxhall monaro, vxr8, maloo specialist) twin turbo'd a monaro and got a 1000bhp out of it at bugger all boost and it was a daily driver road car!, it was featured in totalvauxhall magazine a few years back.
  20. Not too bad as long as the plenum is off as you have to drill and tap the inlet camcovers....if you check out my thread regarding my polished plenum I posted a link to another site that has got a 'how to' guide to movimg the pcv hoses.
  21. Mine smoked more on the drivers side exhaust, as the pcv pipe that goes to the side of the plenum that feeds the drivers side bank of cylinders is at the lowest point on the camcover and oil will pool at the lowest point. Dont get me wrong, im not saying it is or isnt pcv related just giving you an idea other than the dreaded turbo seals. :) Does it smoke any other time, say on decellaration or on boost?, or is it just on idle?.......another thing that can show up smoke you wouldnt normally notice is if the cats and precats have been removed.
  22. Is that a twin turbo gm ls1 engine (monaro etc) ???
  23. After I fitted new pcv's and replaced the 5 hoses it still smoked for a while, can take up to 500-odd miles apparently.mine still smokes now and again after cornering so im movimg the pcv outlets from the passenger side exhaust camcover to the top inside face of the inlet camcovers, this is to stop oil being drawn through the pcv's and into the plenum :). The other cause with mine was p#ss thin castrol edge fully synthetic, oil had broken down after 1200 miles!!!....drained it and refilled with 10w40 semi synthetic and a new filter and it stopped smoking, and it was smoking pretty bad at idle beforehand as the weasel p#ss oil was drawing through the pcvs :( The other possibility is turbo seals.......is your exhaust divorced or linked?, if its divorced doe it come out of one side more than the other or both the same?.
