300zx clocks
If it is VERY low, yes. I had a missfire problem once, it developed when I had the car in the workshop for a few days. I had ignored the fact that the petrol light was on :D A quick splash of fuel and it was ok again! phew..

The boost gauge pipe might have a slight leak in it. I'd try that first. It is off the balance bar R/H (drivers) side. That's perfect!

I think that's what the stock recircs do. They dump the air back in the system ready to be sucked in again.

emptying fuel tank
I bought something from my local car spares shop for this. It's pump that fits on the end of a drill. It's black plastic with a metal shaft which you attach your drill to. It emptied out 30+ litres from a Honda Jazz tank pretty quickly I'll tell you :D

Bigger Brakes and ABS
We all have bad days :p Yes, having a badly functiong ABS system is worse than having no ABS imo. Yep, that will get you through an MOT ;) A modern ABS system is a very good thing, just take a look at this old thread: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=119968&highlight=mercedes How the hell can a van stop quicker than a sportscar? It just shows how much ABS technology has come on in the last 20 years.......... Dont forget our ABS system was most likely designed in 1985, does anyone have any technology from 1985 any more? TV? Computer? Telephone? Answer: NO, it's all TOTALLY outdated by todays standards! IMO, upgrading brakes and having a partially working ABS system is unsafe. Both of my cars have big brake upgrades, the black car has 345mm discs & stock calipers(abs removed) and the red car has Wilwood 335mm discs & calipers but still has the ABS system intact and active. But the first time it does something strange I'm ripping the entire system out, no question. Maybe you could transplant an up to date 350z ABS system into our cars? But owing to the fact they use a CAN (controlled area network) system, I think it would be quite impossible :( Rob.

Bigger Brakes and ABS
stenorth, you should never drive these cars without giving them your full attention. to rely on driver aids is a mistake imo, driving without them does make you more part of the driving experience. if you can't hack the thought of being without abs, be my guest and continue to use it. but have a read of car mads post...........

Christmas Engine Swap
You can. It take a lot of time but it's achievable. When I got the 'Twin Turbo' logo off I slightly wrinkled it and didn't want to put it back on an immaculate plenum. The centre cover is still to be fitted :D Thank you! I will be as soon as I've found the boost leak and run it in! Time is an enemy, especially when you have a family. I'm very glad it's fitted put it that way :) Will do fella! Thanks Jimmy! I am pleased, I think it came out quite well in the end. It was shot blasted and powder coated. LOL No problem, got a few jobs first including full S2 velour interior :D then I'm going to be out and about in it :D

Christmas Engine Swap
A few of you may know I've been building an engine to drop in my red car. Well, after a lot of hard work and long hours, it's finally done. Before: Manky engine bay and stock engine. Better view of manky engine bay :whistling: Engine built and ready to fit: New engine fitted and engine bay cleaned up. Thank god it's in! Now to run it in and have some fun :D

Bigger Brakes and ABS
I have not got ABS on the black Z and to be honest I just dont miss it ever. Maybe it's the biker state of mind in me having presence of mind to lift the pedal when the wheels lock momentarily tho ;)
-
Bigger Brakes and ABS
Well when upgrading your brake calipers if you fit ones with incompatible volumes you risk having the ABS activating at entirely the wrong moment maybe every time you hit the brake pedal. Just something to take into consideration I think........

Bigger Brakes and ABS
Save the hassle and just ditch the ABS.

More NGK plug information......

what cars use these spark plugs?
No idea. I took out those PFR6B11's and did a comparison with those. Actually, it does not state A,B,C on the plug at all? I could scan them for you if you want?
-
what cars use these spark plugs?
Actually, I will correct myself here. The ZRF7F-11 are 1~2mm longer than the PFR6B-11. I've run them for years now and not had a problem.

Exhaust Control Valves
They're spring loaded open. Exactly the opposite way to throttle body butterflies.

Exhaust Control Valves
lol i have one of those on my black Z. It bloody works fantastic as well! I need to rig up some kind of control lever/knob to actuate it though.

The best looking zeds of all time?
I don't know what it is with this car, but I think it's beautiful. Maybe it's the Stillen front bumper lip? But the wheels are exquisite too. Oh, and not to mention 920+hp...... The interior has way too many gauges on show, but I guess you need to keep an eye on things running that much power.

No Shame...
Too true! All this cheap technology now makes it easy to stick a camera in the most compromising positions! But great pic anyway :D Certainly one to remember, or not as the case may be
