Car Tax Check
Yep you're right, I will get it sorted ASAP now. I've just got the car in the workshop to repair the propshaft bearing and just glanced at the tax disc in disbelief!!!! I'm not sure I even had the reminder come through otherwise i would have deffinately renewed it back then.

Car Tax Check
Is there a way of checking if your car is currently taxed? I've had a dig around the site and not found anything yet. I think I've dropped a clanger :o :( :slap:

If you build race engines, the Z engine should be no more difficult. The major problem being space to work around it in the engine bay. There is no Haynes Manual available for the Z32, but there is an online manual which is invaluable. http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

cmm-racing........ I see you're from Preston. Andy Duff is very close to you up that way, it might be worth him having a look but I guess it won't be good news. http://www.zxtreme.co.uk

Ah I see where you're coming from now. What I mean is 1 stock turbo cannot supply enough air to put the engine into positive boost anyway, so it's always going to be in vacuum or '0', not higher. I've done 3~4 tubs now so i know those symptoms LOL Another way to check which turbo has gone is to loosen the 2 rubber tubes that go to the inlet manifold, fire the engine up, and pull one off. You will need to give it a bit of throttle to keep it from stalling but you will feel air rushing out of the pipe that comes from the I/C on the side with the working turbo. As FunkySi says, L/H turbo is FAR easier to replace than R/H. Last time I replaced my L/H it took me 5 hrs start to finish. On my red car the R/H turbo is gone at the moment and I've built an engine to swap into it over the Christmas break.

What do you mean? straight out the back?

flooding???
Does it do it when it's fully warmed up? I have colder plugs in mine and it's quite easy to wet a plug by hitting the limiter if it's not 100% warmed up.

Not quite true...... If one is siezed, the other one can still work, but can only flow enough air for 150hp (think about it ;))

Replacement Engine :D :D :D
Ceramic tip of what? The spark plug? I think when you get severe dett, everything melts/fails catastrophically :mac1:

I can't bring myself to sell my zed
LOL that struck me actually! I know where you're comming from though, they are not worth a great deal of money these days and for the money you get what other car gives you the thrill of a good Z? These cars have a soul and I'm addicted to them. Long live the Z!

Front crank seal fitting help???
That is correct. There should be 2 drain holes down the bottom that are open when oil seal is fitted correctly :)
