Arrrgh I Want This Spoiler!
Gaz, how about asking mike at MJP to get it for you. he often orders large quantites from stillen and it might soften the shipping and taxes a bit. That's how i got my stillen skirts. Not sure if he's back in action yet, but he might be worth a call.

SC Christmas Meet 2nd December (last one of the year!)
Just wondering matt, how far is the Hotel from the airport? If we're arriving at 9.40 will we get time for a few ice breakers once we hit the hotel ?

Best use of the blanking area?
sorry to be boring after all this technology, but the original BOSE nameplate still looks great :duffer: and doesn't cost anything either! I never had the tray which would be quite handy for the fags and stuff Also you don't see too many cars with a "bose" logo under the stereo, looks pretty sweet, and the fact it's original makes it even better.

Original and 99spec
That's why i had the old nose panel resprayed and bought a new z emblem for it. i've also got the stillen one, but find this suits the 99 spec front the best. and this pic really makes the 99 spec look good, but as mgh 297 said it's not low enough although you might not think it by the picture. Daves pic of the black one looks really good, so if i can somehow add some sort of lip onto the bottom it might work

Auto > Manual Conversion
if you've got the money to spare, a manual conv. may be less hassle than selling up and trying to find a clean manual. I had no choice in the matter as my autobox blew up, but it was the best investment i've ever made in the car

Original and 99spec
heres an example of mine few years back when I bought it and the other one after the bodywork. They're not great pics and at at slightly different angles but it makes a point i think

Original and 99spec

Original and 99spec
I've been jigging this around in my head for a while and i'm interested to see what other z owners think. I craved the 99spec look for years before i could afford it, but now i'm going through some sort of crisis. OK, rear spoiler is definitely an improvement on the spongey original and even the 94 replacement but i think the first z's out of the factory didn't have any at all. but the front, that's not so simple. pics won't really show this, anyone who's stood in front of a 99 spec and original front bumper parked side by side may agree. The 99 spec looks a little bit..i don't want to use the wrong word here...friendly? The original with the slatted turbo intakes, the dark strip breaking up the colour, I don't know, it just looks aggressive, low like it's gonna bite you. I was reminded of this last weekend when Tulip(trish)'s red UK spec was parked beside me quite a bit. I couldn't help admiring how nissan designers got it right from the start. I don't know the who was responsible for the 99 spec facelift ,but they have done a great job in bringing the looks more up to date and it looks so sweet when your playing gran tourismo 3! But... when you look at the original design in the flesh it just seems right. The overall stance of the car (without a rear spoiler)looks (IMO) lower and wider and has a bit more character. The problem is most of the stock zeds around have rough looking front bumpers , chipped paint etc. which is a shame back to the rear, the lights were the best thing, and regardless of body shape these are a must-have.I've got the D.I.Y job and saw the two sided by side last weekend and theres a Massive Difference. I've been photographing this car since i first bought one in 2001 and at this stage must know every angle, bend and look. I hope i don't put anyone off going 99 spec because I still love it but can't help looking at the greener grass :)
-
Dear santa...
Hmmmmm.... maybe i'll rethink the spoiler then, but i've been looking at smoothies a lot and can't help admiring the true shape of the car from different angles, without any lumps or bumps.
-
if only it was real. funny though
 PMSL to both of 'em!
-
Dear santa...
.......I know it's early and i know you are very busy this time of year but maybe if i pop to the loo and turn the screen toward my wife she might get some ideas for pressies and get off her arse and start saving. if not ,maybe you and the elves can help me. :) now santa, i'm not greedy and i don't want everything in the list, (well i do really) but even if i get one present, I promise I'll be a good boy. I would like............ 99 spec rear lights New car mats with 300zx logo on them My 99 spec rear spoiler removed ( I want the smooth look) Lowering springs A voucher for a full professional valet New wipers that don't squeak My headlights removed and cleaned you see?i'm not greedy am I? I could have asked for new turbo's or a respray but i didn't. next year you can dump Rudolph and his bum chums, borrow my zed and be back in plenty of time to give mrs. santa a good service. i'm sorry there won't be any beer left out for you this year as I drink every fooking drop that comes into the house. love you santa and see you soon Mick

irl meet afterthoughts
And thankyou too :) very well put trish, i guess we are dedicated :duffer: on the UK meet issue, I think you can become complacent or familiar when you have so many zeds, so many meets and choice. It's kind of a big thing for us, so we look forward to it a lot more. I really hope in the future our numbers will grow, and we can hang onto our cars as long as possible. After seeing the blue z at the meet i'm thinking of all sorts of stuff i can't afford but it's keeping the fire burning and that's the main thing. and i won't tell anyone how drunk you were when you were showing off on the M1, thrashing hotels, doing a runner on hotel phone bills, driving in the fast lane for 20 minutes at 59mph with a 40 car tailback, flirting with the petrol station boy when he thought we were a couple, Slowing myself and dave down on the bendy bits, telling a taxi driver your "skirt" was ripped off outside the Green Isle hotel, stalking other zed owners, not having a proper mobile phone, getti-...............Y'know we all love ya :D

How do i get to be self employed?! + is it worth it??
apart from V.A.T , tax returns , keeping suppliers paid on time, getting used to irregular income, it's great, you can knock off work early if things are quiet, work long hours when you're busy (but relish in the fact your not making money for your boss) The one big thing to take into consideration is what kind of person you are. I wouldn't be the most motivated person, but when the work is there I get it done and get paid, and i'm on top of the world. When things are quiet I tend to worry a lot but i'm getting better at it, starting to balance things out in my head a bit better.
