I don't have much luck with my cars at the moment, but if there's a collection going or I can help in any other way then sign me up...
  2. I know an ex producer too, as I said I rarely have to test now P.S. Please forgive me
  3. OOOOOOOO! I love it when people ask me this!! I'm technical compliance for the worlds largest video game publisher, thats a fancy way of saying I play computer games for a living. Only problem is since my promotion most of my day is taken up with admin and handing out work, so I rarely actually do any testing now. Also playing computer games for 8 hours a day every day has left me pretty bored with them, something that I'd never thought would happen.

  5. Instead of having to spend all that time on the conversions in your garage why don't you make conversion kits for our cars? You could point customers to a good engine and tranny supplier and then you could sell a kit with custom engine mounts, belts, hoses, manifolds, carburettour, pumps, intake and ignition. Dunno what you'd do about custom driveshafts and exhausts as I'd imagine they would be costly and time consuming to make. The way I see it, most of the headache of a V8 swap lies in getting hold of everything except the engine and transmission, if you could take that headache away, then I reckons you could be onto an earner.
  6. Actually, just had my starter disconnected and if I put the electrics under load then the circuit breaker goes, so doesn't look like its my starter.
  7. Are your problems anything like mine? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=64749 I havent done it yet but I've heard you can touch the starter solenoid cable to the positive main power terminal on the starter to see if the starter can engage and turn. Although you should be very carefull doing this as there'll be a load of power going through those wires.

If you liked Ong Bak, take a look at this next film: http://www.tomyumgoongmovie.com/
  9. My advice, find an insurance company that charges less for an NA than a TT. Some don't differentiate, my company will charge me just as much for an NA as my TT (when its running :( ). Also when looking for cars the forum's 'Cars for sale' is probably the best place to find a nice car thats been well cared for.
  10. Just finished putting the engine in the zed (er.. again), got everything hooked up and code55, but when I try to start it in park all I hear are a couple of clicks (mainly from the fuses in front of the brake booster), and the car does not turn over, i.e. starter does not engage. Yet oddly when I put the car in neutral and try the same thing the starter enages and the circuit breaker trips instantly. From what I can tell the starter may be sticking but when I first rebuilt the car the starter sticking was nowhere near bad enough to trip the breaker. I also think that the problem might not be the starter because another couple of times when I switched the lights on, the trip blew again (lights are now fine). Gearbox and engine ground wires are fine and the gearbox body ground is also fine and I can't see any damage to any of the wiring. Has anyone experiened similar symptoms? and does anyone know why the car wont even try engage the starter in park? I'm hoping that my starter internals have somehow degraded to the point that it is causing the tripping, so I'm gonna take the starter off tomorrow night and see if it spins when I apply current.
  11. Hello Andy, thanks for all the bits. From what I hear, Mike Groves knows pretty much everything about computers, even more than me
  12. Simple explanation- yes THE CAR IS A COMPLETE DOG The fuel gauge was left empty so you couldn't take the car very far or very fast (could be to mask an EGR leak that will become apparent after you take the car on the motorway). The boost gauge was blanked off to mask was is probably a catastrophic boost problem, . Vibration sounds like centre bearing so mileage is most likely 158,000km. My advice is go back and ask for another test drive, then when inside the car bash the dealers head against the dash a few times.
  13. Look for an alliance guild called 'Overlords' on Terenas server, GM is a player called Orias (if you see him remind him that a chav in a 500bhp TRD Supra IS STILL A CHAV)
  14. Thats what I thought, but M.r red said he'd bought red ones for his stop/tail, so then I'd imagine he'd have that problem. The reason I haven't experimented with LED's yet is because stupid Halfrauds only have the red ones.
  15. Hi, I was just wondering, when you put red LED's through a red filter don't you lose some of the light output? I thought when you filtered red light through a red lens you essentially filter most of the red light out leaving only the other componenets of the colour to come through, hence you get an amber/whitish glow from the red/red combination.
  16.
  17. I saw the cartoon back in the 90's but I've heard the film wasn't much cop..
  18. Have you thought about seeking treatment/consultation abroad? The standard of medical expertise in this country is getting so bad that things considered impossible over here are a matter of routine in the states. Countries that have stem cell treatments available have found that they can be used to repair all sorts of things and the list is growing daily.
  19. Just ask collymore what dogging is: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=14005756&method=full&siteid=50143 Or go to 'dogging central': http://www.dogging-central.com/links.shtml
  20. This system is being implemented to take the place of the scrutinising you're talking about, when they successfully integrate all the databases with the cameras then the whole system becomes automated and the ridiculous volumes of fines would not be a problem. Although I will concede that if every single person caught with the new system contested their fine then there would be a very big problem.
  21. Also keep a very keen eye out for clocking, as just about every Z from Japan has a 'genuine' 50-60K on the clock.
  22. I think a zed could quite happily run on 10%ethanol, you'd just have to increase the duty cycle a bit if you ran into problems. When running on pure alcohol I hear you have to up your duty by as much as 50%, and I think the lubricants and additives in the petrol would give enough protection to your seals. A recommended way of protecting an alcohol running engine is to run it on petrol for a few minutes before you turn it off.
  23. If you're gonna spray the dash make sure you do it with some paint thats not gonna crack when you work the dash back in.
  24. Very nice, just goes to show that the Yanks really can make decent cars. When they call in a British tuning house to help em' make it......
  25. Post the address up, someone might recognise it- there's a chance they might have used the same email to contact others on here
