  1. the popping and gurgling is unburnt fuel on the over run ..sticking throttle cable cam not returning or not fully closing , or throttle position sensor, i know it sounds good but will wreck the exhaust eventualy ....bunny hopping is usualy as said groover probably the input shaft on the box or clutch dragging or grabbing slightly
  2. nice one Ian ....the touring car sound will be same issue i had the gearbox gearlever under gaiter has come off the lip from the hole in the bodywork above the gearbox....sounds like my old Mini 1380 gearbox with the dog cut gears i had in there ......
  3. hardest bit is getting the finish right......lots of time sanding and smoothing the edges , the surround then needs to be painted to look factory ..it seems a satisfying thing to do ...but im like you very pickey and if its not right ill not be happy becuase i will know its not right..even the smallest blemish ..so i know where you are coming from with that :)
  4. All the best Andy what did you get for your pressie..........more bling and some polish :) have a great day fella kaza
  5. to be honest mate it takes ten minutes with a dremmel and some patience with a bit of resin filer to get a double din surround a few on here have made them and they are top notch... i know someone who got a double din and the double din hole still had to be dremeled out so the head unit would go in do a search im sure they are on here somewhere steve
  6. thanks Gary yep Jeff has just emailed me , forever the gent and professional......Smithy got in before him though ..... :)
  7. cheers Smithy your a star , im popping down to see Jeff when im back , just a final once over on the zed it srunning really sweet and the motor is so strong even on stock boost hes done a cracking job getting it all together, just as footnote ive been trying to get hold of the chrome bits you used to supply big fuse cover etc ..tried Z1 concept Z etc no luck yet if you ever stumble across any keep me in mind mate. and the offer still stands if ever your over from the island and need a place to stop over give me a bell, you coming to the Lakez weekend at Heaves hall ? rgds Steve
  8. can anyone tell if these pulleys are orthadox racing underdrive Pulleys?? car had then fitted when it went in to zxtreme i seem to remember they were anodised red and i had to get a sepearte set of belts for them, and then the car at zedworld there seems to be one on the seat , i know they were all there , but these fitted dont look the same .....im now wondering about my fidenza lightened flywheel and rps street max clutch if theyre fitted ..i have PM'd jeff but no reply.....any ideas fellas thing is i cant tell if theyr fitted or not without lifting the engine out or dropping the gearbox and we all know what it slike taking the cam covers off .......how can i tell if theyre orthadox....these seem to have nissan stamped on them.....
  9. i agree its very good product wise, all the stuff is from the twinz especially that rear bumper with diffuser ...but to get one over here is impossible and very very expensive...justify the price , get a good UK dealer supplier, and there woul dbe avery big market for your stuff, in general we look , want , cant buy, so forget about it pity as i would love a rear bumber and diffuser for my wide arch ...im keeping the 99 spec from though as i love it and dont think anything on the market comes close looks wise...
  10. awesome zed well done Bob and Pete.....now shed those kilos and get back on the loud pedal ....low elevens maybe even high tens ...massive leaps though to get into these times... keep out of the nines unless you want to fit a chute ...... steve
  11. bring them down to the Lakez meet on the 29th and ill give you hand mate ..im sure plenty ofothers will muck in as well.
  12. cheers mate, i will give it a tweak when im back in the UK and see what happens steve
  13. mate i am an Instrument engineer by trade and that thing ...well you may as well stick a vac line in a banana and put that on your dashboard try here ................. http://www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk/inde ... t&catId=10 Steve
  14. aw mate im gutted for you ...such a shame RIP Ziko , but as you said you have done the best for him out of compassion and straight from the heart and he would have thanked you if he could.
  15. yep cant grumble with the work they do and nice people also.................but as for answering your PM's ...............Christmas will come sooner !!
  16. wish they would ban snipe software.....people who snipe are the pikeys of the ebay world ........bloody unfair and not in the spirit of of how ebay was set up.......i am not in the least bit jealouse :)
  17. revs are lumpy at about 650 -750 ..would like it more nearer 850- 900 im sure its just a screw somewheer that is adjusted for idle tick over ..ill do a search
  18. somebody was a little grouchy there werent they.........no matter what forum you go on the rules will most probably be the same my friend, if you want to sell anything then you must subscribe first, if you want to help other zed owners with a cheap part, put it on Gumtree its free and no subscription needed, no need to call people losers in all respect is there !
  19. looking forward to seeing the flying pig ..seen pics of it but i just love the real retro z's ...like the Jag xkr they have grown into their body work nicely with the years and look much cooler now than when new.
  20. only really the tick over, which is a bit low for my liking ....still taking it gentle as the engine only has about 50 miles on it .....really could do with a boost controler fitting some time in the future and getting the most out of the set up .....all the trim should have been painted black but wasnt but thats something i will be taking up with the body shop foreman face to face. apart from that its all systems go :) still plenty for me to do to put my stamp on it ....might try and swap the steering wheel for my Momo one when i get there......i can see this all going Pete Tong buddy :) ......dont fancy bringing a parmo down with you do mate......i miss my Parmo's lol
  21. im really loking forward to meeting you all after all this time, hope the weather holds out, Saturday Night should be good, i wont be doing the drive out as the zed has not been fully set up yet...still running the conservative settings Jeff put in ..so tick over etc needs raising slightly...never know some kind sould might help me out at the meet....i prefer to sit and enjoy the scenery when im in the lakes ..besides the missus will want to go shopping for sure :( trying to sort out accomodation at the mo for Sat night ....we will pop along Friday and drive home friday later on as we are only 30 mins away then return early doors Sat
  22. i went for the K sport big brake kit with 8 pot calipers front and 6 pot rears ..probably over kill but my choice was more for aestetics ...the evo brembo , 350 and r33 brakes are ample, even the stock calipers if overhauled on bigger discs will stop you well with DS2500 pads change the fluid and put braided steel lines on and a bigger servo with the bremobo upgrade and you will stop on a sixpence
  23. Very true Jeff ..in life it is always better to stick with people you know do a good job, and without support from loyal customers and enthusiasts even long standing companies like yours would probably just fade away as would the cars which would be a crying shame
  24. yep starts 29th friday saturday 30th drive out in teh lakes then back for a beer and ( band in the Hall and buffet ) 31st homewards bound looking forward to it steve
