  1. ive bought off Smithy And Danny Zatt ..met Smithy at mine his zed was apure workhorse then though and not the lovely monster it became..someone got a real bargain with that car ...still keep in touch with Danny every now and again both top blokes....such a shame they stopped trading especially the chrome dress up parts like the big fuse covers etc..... sad days :(
  2. im running the fedanza light weight flywheel and RPS street max clutch as well its a nice set up with good feel....well it had that fitted when it went to ZXtreme since coming back from Jeffs the gearbox is whinning like a little spoilt girl and im not sure what fly wheel and clutch is fitted in there now ...maybe Jeff can remember
  3. its only down to the traffic police these days being not much more than tax colectors .....we are the easy soft option to get their score cards up is a general harrasment of decent people over stupid motoring "offences" the fine over the plate is to ensure the vehicle plate recognition system can pick you out for no tax or insurance or whatever if ever you are in that position you shouldnt be driving anyway ...a missaligned number confuses the system and they flag up plate not recognised ...again its so they can stealth tax us on already over priced road tax , and motor insurance , normal bobbies are fine walking the beat and house to housing but most traffic police are like the sheriff of notingham.....and attitude !! where do they learn that particular little character flaw ...the reason they have flaps on the shoulders of their jackets is to keep the chips under ..evenly balanced a chip on each one..... that being said i have met a few decent ones who do use common sense....unfortunatley the majority spoil it for the minority ...
  4. that is just disgusting, ...how can suposedly human beings behave and live like that, they deserve no better than a tent on a council dump , probably make them feel at home, any issues later on with the scumbags and you know how to deal with it....good luck mate steve
  5. hey up fellow smoggie ...can you send me his details mate byPM i will see him when im back in Boro next .....need a re map and boost controller fitting cheers Steve
  6. off for some welding ??....thought you would have been a pro yourself by now Ian :) manual gearbox conversion you will need an uprated clutch as well , the stock items slip like buggery on anything over 350 bhp good luck with it fella steve

  8. obvioulsy needed a new Plaice to go, eel be there forever now, probably catching some rays through the crystal clear water, or it might have been someone just clown-ing about
  9. when i said two man tent i meant two person ..........dont want any stray effeminate blokes wandering in uninvited ..... besides my missus would batter them to a pulp :) ill be bringing the vodka then
  10. oh hell yes ....me and the missus and my little white dog Alfie .....might even try out the new cozy two man tent ....
  11. there have been some very good points made here, these cars are our pride and joy for most of us owners and for many others they take professional pride in being able to sort out the niggles we all experience as a business , it does not detract from the fact that people make mistakes, owners can become emotive and passionate when the end result is not as expected, and business owners can become deffensive when constantly challenged, its human nature ! i have had a very good albeit slow and drawn out experience from Jeff and his team, but the wait was worth it, the car speaks for itself , human error did crop up, but probably down to impatience from my side, and work load on the body shop and at Jeffs, my windscreen upper bar front and back were to be painted black or vinyl wrapped a request to the body shop and the trim removed and repainted wipers and scuttles painted and paid for but that wasnt done, a self tapping screw taking up the slack on a far too big positive battery terminal and holding the battery terminal clamp in place which came adrift stranding me and my 12 year old son .and causing a kerbing of an alloy as the car had to pushed off a roundabout .....but these are things which would have been known about to put right before handing the car back , but they never got round to doing them, i put it down to human error and tired eyes and my rush to get the car back for my birthday , in general i am very happy with the service i got from Zedworld which has always been polite and professional however i will be paying the body shop a visit on my return to ask ( politely ) why the bits i paid for to be painted black where not done as it spoils the whole look of the car.... i can understand Vijays point but agree if handled or approached in another manner at the outset a completely differently resolve may have ensued and this thread may never had been written, lessons learnt all round perhaps ? steve
  12. very good results ..traction problems perhaps ? mid to high 120 should be running in mid 11's easy i would think
  13. lurpak you lot never seen last tango in paris then ....... :) had a similar thing as Vods ..too many mods to insure me with FJ ......shame really as mine and vods cars are well known on here for the heart ache and effort we have put in both me and Vods are passionate about our motors and have improved nearly every aspect of them , brakes, suspension, bodywork, paintwork, interior etc etc .... so cant really understand why we can not get insured with FJ....i have limited millage 3000 per year, cat 1 alarm imobiliser garaged down my drive with locked iron gates best i have had is 420 fully comp, good post code, 52, insured on my ML 55 AMG ...3 points in 2008
  14. rear facing louvres as oposed to vents would cause a low pressure area to form in the slip of the air rushing over the bonnet, thereby allowing the low pressure air stalled under the bonnet to be littteraly pulled out of the louvres by the passing higher pressure air flow causing a mini vortex behond each louvre this is why louvres were used in many sports cars of the past and military aircraft ........vents do not act in the same way unless specifically designed to do so .....such as the escort cosworth and lancia delta integrale
  15. welcome aboard Karen happy zedding

  19. cheers guys, its going down to Jeffs next time home, for a set up and re tune after being ran in, maybe boost controler also, so i wil get the wheel to image while its there and get it done properly, as it is now though teh car is awesome so strong on just standard boost, it will be mental when its allowed to breath more, then off for a mapping session to release all its potential. happy zeding peeps kaza
  20. took the zed out just to drop my sons friend and take my son back to his ma's only a ten minute run , but just to put a smile on his face , well got to a roundabout and the car cut out , would not re start , alarm was going off and cars were stacking up behind me ...3 guys in a van behind pushed me off the roundabout and down a small side road , big thanks to them , unfortunately there was me trying to steer through teh open door , and the car , picked up speed as it was down hill slightly i had to jump in the car with it moving but to late and teh front off side wheel hit the curb,,,taking a nice 6 inch gauge out of 1600 pounds worth of image split rim grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..:no:..called the AA and the nice man in teh yellow van found teh positive post connection of teh battery was so loose he could just lift it off and pop it on with his fingers ...not even push tight..the connector was too big for the battery post and instead of a new connector someone had just screwed a 6 mm screw betwen teh batery terminal and teh clamp to take the slack in !!! obvioulsy when the car has been driven the screw has come slack and dissconected the battery...so one 6mm screw has cost me what it will be to refurb teh front alloy plus a 45 minutes in the cold wait for teh AA .....i am not happy:no::no:
  21. so quite a few of us then :) ... thanks Paul apreciate the offer, the ML is thirsty but 6 seconds to 60 puts a smile on my face every time. just got to get the double din fitted in the zed now and i will be laughing. does anyone else think the seats on the audi loo like zed seats ??
