  1. Im looking to remove the rear Hicas system. What do i need to buy and what do i need to do? i know the full steering rack comes off but what about pipes and things relating to the power steering at the front? cheers all James
  2. Hi, before i actually purchase these will they fit with no problems ie offset etc, has anyone bought these before? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-RACE-ALLOY-WHEELS-NISSAN-300ZX-TYRES-/140449200383?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item20b36cb8ff thanks for any comments James
  3. Update: We can make the two sweep remote at the very least so we dont need to reach out and turn the knob on and off for one sweep (or two) im going to put a stainless steel momentary/push to make switch around where my left hand rests near the gear stick so i can just press it once and it will wipe my windscreen. For jap imports there is a orange wire on the connector block at the rear of the rotary switch, this rests at 12+ when ignition is on. It requires a 12- pulsed earth to mimick the switching of the knob on and off. As an alternative if you prefer you can fit a rocker switch (latched) which keeps an earth on this wire until switched back off. This will give you ONE wipe but the wipers dont return to park until swiched off. Which when switched "off" gives you one more wipe then park position. hope this helps all you people like me who get fustrated when we must switch the knob on and off just to wipe 20 spots of rain in your vision... if anyone requires help on wiring any in just ShoUt, also i fitted my clifford 650 at weekend with turbo timer and headlight activation if help is needed. James
  4. yer why they could never put a stalk in to pop them on for one sweep.. im going to get my tools out at weekend and see if we can get this to work though a relay. im certain it must be possible tbh as our cars are old enough to work on simple 12+ and 12- pulses or feeds. ill keep you all posted...
  5. there must be a wire we can part with a relay and pulse a live or earth down? somebody in the last 20 years must have done this.. i was thinking of putting a button down near the gear stick where my hand rests. im gonna check this out next weekend and see if i can find the wire that pulses on one "on off" turn of the wheel.
  6. Hi all, is there any way of fitting a "push to make" button to sweep the front wipers once? im tired of reaching up to switch on and off in very light rain.. yes i am lazy...:whistling: james
  7. Thanks for that buddy, that helps alot!! i will replace with a new one asap.. james:thumbup:
  8. ive just spent the last 2 hours reading past posts about this and im needing some confirmation before i spend days fault finding. 90% of the time after a good blast the Ecu returns all clear, but on occasion while driving along i get the heavy fueling smell and before ive gone to check Ecu codes i know its registered a 33 and evry time im right. So i reset Ecu and for a few days its fine until it registers another 33. If i where to check the sensor is switching with a multimeter or Ecu light it will be doing as its only happening on occasion? My only option is to change it out for a known working one or new? What actually brings up the code 33? is the Ecu likely to be reading a sensor which is on its way out.. cheers James
  9. so there really is alot of differences then... i am looking at changing my drivers and passengers door glass as mine are both scratched. so i assume the LWB glass is a different shape. The only reason i ask the inital question was because i went to a local car show at week end and seeing a LWB TT there and having a walk round it after looking at my SWB for the past few weeks. The doors looked alot longer on a LWB than a SWB and it got me thinking...
  10. i seem to have started a long thred here but i dont seem to have my question answered apart from the whole car is the same apart from where the car starts behind seats? so the doors, windows roof and everything else is the same and will fit from a LWB.. oh and ive had 2 LWB TT's and by far the SWB handles and accelerates better.. :tt2:
  11. Hi all, is there a list or something which details all the differences between the SWB TT and LWB TT for parts etc? cheers James
  12. even without boosting it just pours out now through the front ones to the point when everytime i go out in it the washer low level light comes on..
  13. morning peeps, it not goosehonk as im experineced with that, and i dont have a cat or goose under the car LMAO... it could be the booster will check today, thanks for the lead buddy.. james
  14. when i brake quite hard i get a strange noise that could only be described as a honk or a cat meow... weird, the car seems to brake very well and doesnt do it on normal braking. Has anyone had this before? when im stationary and i pump the pedal hard it sounds like im pumping up a tyre under the car at the rear?? thanks James
  15. checked today and yep its in... must be knackerd?
  16. :thumbup:cool beans! thanks buddy, will try it after tea tonight..
  17. been out for a 170 mile round trip today and never missed a beat so cant be the cat blocked then, i laid on the floor and felt the pipe coming out of the duff side and it was red hot so gases are getting through. I think it must be the balance box, tried also blocking up the good side for a few moments and it did push some of the gases out the duff side but not much. I can live with it for now, but it look as though i have a fake back box on the passenger side as no vapors come out in a morning on warm up.
  18. yer it all runs perfecto and couldnt run any better. I suspect its blocked tbh but just thought i would run it past you all before i go and have the balance box ripped out and replaced. Q. i would assume both banks run from the cats into this one balance box, get mixed up and exit through two tail pipes, thats the idea with a balance box? so in my case its exiting my right bank 80% and only 20% left side. That would then point to the cat.. damm.
  19. thanks alot for your help! james
  20. spoiler off for me, looks lower? really like the whole car tbh, very tastefully done and to my taste.
  21. Hi all, just something i have noticed after my blast out and quick fix tonight. Car is a TT SWB Manual 93. cats are still in place and a S/S aftermarket exhaust has been fitted, cat back. In place is a balance box where as both pipes go into the box and out. Both rear cans have no baffle left in and i ripped the last loose pieces out by hand after looking inside them (4" tail pipe). the drivers side exhaust is hot to touch and burbles nicely. The passenger side is cold to touch and with my hand and ear next to it is only producing a small amount. Is it possible the balance box baffles have also collopsed? James
  22. my older 91 and 90 300zx climate controls had an ambient temp (outdoor) why has my 93 not got this? all are imports but the 93 is a SWB. cheers James
  23. hi all, my washer jets are pumping out water when i turn a corner, brake or accelerate? this is well anoying when you have just waxed your bonnet! i cant seem to work out why this is happpening? thanks james
  24. its a ttop bud, i cant seems to post pictures, is this because im not a subscribed member yet? been out in it today, this is the 3rd 300zx i have owned others where 2+2 tt and by jesus this one feels stupid fast and i mean shocking. it runs so sweet and boosts so smooth. Are they many differences between the 2+2 and SWB, obviously it lighter but how much because power to weight ratio feels like the SWB weigh a good 250kg lighter the way it flys? It only appears to have exhaust and filter, possibly the ecu could be chipped. The car has never been touched it seems other wise. james
  25. Update, all sorted... changed all injectors as one injector was out and i dont do things by halfs. changed plugs, fuel filter, oil, filter etc and it runs soooo shweeeet even spins the wheels in 4th gear!!!!
