  1. I really like the idea of getting some wheel spacers for when i fit my coilovers. unsure of size yet but was liking the idea of 25mm for the front, and 15mm for the back. However two of my friends are trying their hardest to talk me out of it. both are mechanics and one of which is an m.o.t tester so i am inclined to say they know what they're on about. They believe it is a bad idea due to the extra stress they would put on wheel bearings, as well as the extra inertia due to the weight that would make it harder to break. when i said they would be aluminium from eBay that convinced them even less claiming they'd be week as piss. I also had a major problem with wheel shake until i fitted some spigot rings, and my friends are convinced that it'll come back with a vengeance with the wheel spacers fitted. What are your opinions? has anybody had any problems since fitting wheel spacers? After seeing the price of some of them on eBay i was tempted to have some made myself. the machinist at work suggested carbon steel would be suitable enough, but i think they would be really heavy. just to clarify i am talking about bolt on hub centric type spacers. has anybody else tried making any themselves? I don't exactly need to space out the wheels for any reason it is purely to make the stance look a little nicer.
  2. i thought i must be wrong, it sounded a bit drastic.
  3. So when you say tapped the door catch, do you mean as move the ring on the door frame a couple of mm into the car, and then drill new holes and then tap them?
  4. excellent, cheers guys. i'll get round to it eventually.
  5. Yeah mine does this, and it does leak a little, only a drip mind but it can be quite regular. the other side is starting too.
  6. I just re subbed via paypal...
  7. :alien:Some really nice pics there vods  , I've got the google sky map app on my phone, I always have a go when I'm in the garden having a smoke. Been thinking about getting a telescope myself. then in the summer take a drive out to some part of the deserted country side with less light pollution.nice little way of combining my love for the zed and the stars. Interesting fact I was told in school, apparently we are closer to the bottom leg of Orion, than it is to the head :smartass: Also mite wana take a closer look at the Pleiades cluster, I came across this video the other day, apparently there's little green men :alien: :alien: :alien: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De93JYXohVw&feature=related
  8. There was once a website mentioned on top gear a while ago that listed how many of which cars were registered in the uk. I even think it stated which were actually on the road too. No idea what it was though.
  9. As the title suggests my AC pump has seized. and with it now been winter, not having any gas in it and probably full of leaks I'm not really too bothered. however when ever i need to use the front de-misters the belt squeal like a bitch and it nearly stalls the car :crying: . So whats the easiest way of sorting this? I'm guessing either cutting the belt, or somehow unplugging the cable to the pump. Or is there a fuse I could pull that wouldn't engage it.

I could be free weather permitting.
  11. Finally got some bought and fitted, think they were 66.1mm to 73.0 mm, cost me £20 in the end. Best £20 I've ever spent . Since I got the car its always had an awful shake but nothing seemed to cure it. I changed the inner hicas ball joints, the outer hicas ball joints, single piece prop, tyres balanced and re balanced, tracking sorted and a wheel refurb. Although the parts I changed clearly needed changing it still never solved the problem, and nobody seemed to know why. But a couple of shitty bits of plastic later and its never felt so good. So thanks to everyone who helped with this, very much appreciated  .
  12. Here's the link to the facebook album, not sure if it'll work though I'm not entirely sure of the process, but it is a special kind of paint or primer to give the effect. I don't think baking it is a necessity but it speeds up the process dramatically. He's done a few other Honda ones in plenty of different colours, he said its mixed so it could be whatever you like. I'll try and get a few more details off him at some point.
  13. picture's of my mates integra, he had to bake it and apply so many layers, took him ages but it looks class. was thinking of maybe doing mine in red.... What you guys think?
  14. yeah i've managed to find a place near me. i'm going to take the car down tomorrow night.
  15. Does the size have to be spot on? the wheel's a bit tight to get a vernier in, i think they're around 74mm will it make a difference if they're a little out?
  16. In my opinion blu ray is better, but it depends on what film your watching. I find it makes the special effects look more fake on older films, and green screen more obvious. for instance I got the matrix trilogy on blu ray, and it looked so fake on the green screen bits and the animation wasn't very good (due to the age of the film) so the enhanced quality from the blu ray made that alot more noticeable :bored: . However I've got the fugitive on blu ray, and it looks incredible. the explosions are real explosions and there is no cgi, it looks awesome, much better than HD :cool3: . Same as Avatar, that looks breath taking in blu ray, which is due to the animation been made for 3d I think. So I think Prometheus will probably be the same calibre as avatar, so will probably be worth buying in blu ray. I didn't enjoy the film too much but I am tempted just because of the alternate ending and beginning.
  17. If its not too late to submit then heres a couple of old ones, haven't got any really nice ones with the spoiler. Was going to say is that funky si's? is a really nice car.
  18. I'd have to say mid level too, I do like the 99 spec one, and its because of yours as why i bought mine, but i do understand what you were saying at the meet with the higher spoiler suiting the bumper better. but if its too high it could ruin the affect completely. hmmmm if only there was someone local that had an old mid level spoiler in their loft :whistling: on another note though kev, was that your car I saw near Redcar seafront today? I was going a little to quick so couldn't of been sure...
  19. Ah I see, pity our traffic laws wouldn't allow it to be plate-less at the front...
  20. Thats really nice too man :thumbup1: whats shaved about it? is that without a lip?
  21. Haha Yeah it does like. Thanks for that Daz i'll keep that one in mind.
  22. surprising, i thought the zed would be much wider. what mk cupra is it off? guessing its not going to be scrap yard job...
  23. I've had the same problem when i first bought it and once or twice recently. I just topped up the power steering pot and that solved it. which reminds me i still need to try that again. having to do it twice in two years though could be the thing trying to tell me there's a leak
  24. Is that a lip made for the bumper, or some crazy custom SEAT job?
