  3. Haha the race is on!! Lol only kidding, that looks awesome Dougal, it's good to not be the only one to take this task. Keep up the good work and more pics!
  4. Haha well atleast you found it before you started ripping stuff apart!
  5. Lol ap racing brakes are worth a lot more than that, and are worth every penny if you want to reduce heavily modifying your car in a small amount of time (not for the best)
  6. Pw pro - - - Updated - - - http://www.pwpro.co.uk/cars/
  7. Was it brand new and what were the bushes like which join the lever to the linkage, all the short shift does is move the pivot point closer to the hand. What short shifter have you bought??
  8. Having followed your thread Dougal you could say you had an influence on me taking this on. When you giving another update as your build thread is a good read Thanks.
  9. Tyres could be unevenly worn? Or mis-shapen
  10. haha i was wondering where this was going to end up with those seats, but thats impressive and quite attracting now, Nice work!
  11. also you cant really blank off the outlet as the oil passed through the channels are used for lubrication, not good for the pump.
  12. If your talking about the sill where the bottom of the wings meet I don't use them as a jacking point as they are too weak for the full weight of the car. I usually jack up using a trolly jack and some wood on the subframes then use padded axle stands on the recognised jacking points. To repair them I used some bull nose pliers to pull then straight then used a drift to pull apart the sheets of metal, to remove any rust. Gave it some rust inhibitor. Then persuade them back to shape until I'm happy. Hope that helped some if any. Hollings
  13. Cheers guys, luckily I'm close to finishing all the underside before winter cause it will really suck doing it in the garage I'm in atm haha.
  14. Lol In the last pic you can see the marks from a trolley jack on the chassis rail... Couldn't do much about them.
  15. Cheers Gary hopfully I can keep plodding on without any hiccups.
  16. Transmission tunnel Hope you enjoy, More updates.....soon..ish
  17. Now for the top coat which ive been dieing to apply! Enjoy.. Passenger Rear Arch Fuel tank area Drivers rear arch Drivers Floor pan
  18. Front passenger Arch here. among other random snaps. Again this is the front passenger arch being seam sealed, a few more seams to fill this time..
  19. Because the top coat im putting over the rust bullet wont sit very well on top of the sealant i have to reapply rust bullet over this to give it a good surface to bind too. Plus doing it this was not only makes sure rust bullet is on the sealant stopping it from rotting, but its also behind the sealant should it fail to do its job, because even though ive been pulling massive amounts out it defiantly proves more isn't better as there has been some rusty stuff sitting behind it in most cases.
  20. Now for some more painting! This is the Drivers side floor pan ..Transmission Tunnel. I didnt go any further into the engine bay as i plan to treat it with zinc then spray it the colour of your car of course. whilst cleaning the metal up i removed all the seam sealant so here is a pic or 2 of the new seam sealant. Looks a bit messy maybe but i cleaned it up after, then forgot to take a photo :/
  21. This pic is just the metal after being acid etched with some metal blast Its the final prep i do before applying the lurvley rust bullet but i also soak it in as it helps to remove lots of crap
  22. Update time.. Well first and foremost look what arrived woop! Now back to the crap job. The drivers side sill where most people use a scissor jack on the seam was absolutely mullered, it was practically horizontal in both directions. it wasn't a pretty sight. i don't have a before pic but you can see from this one i bent it back into what it should look like. Also you can of course see my progress with grinding the underside and it gets more and more annoying as it just seams there is much thicker sealant even where there isn't a seam!
  23. It wasnt a bulb holder was it? As my indicator bulb holders are green and the wires fell out of them too due to some pro crimping.
  24. I'm interested in the diagram for these calipers Alan :) Thanks, Hollings
