  1. Exactly!! And Max Power or ANY other magazine is not responsible in the slightest for any of the anti social behaviour now commonly seen in most of Britains cities and major towns. Thats down to complex socio-economic factors well out of the scope of this thread. All magazine publicity for our cars is worthwhile. It seems to me that some of you guys are not living in the same world as me. The 300ZX is only one of a dozen popular Jap Sports cars. We as a club are just a small part of the whole Jap scene here in the UK, so dont get carried away with your own self importance or the importance of the car. And stop being so judgemental on the younger generation. 90% of them are just sons and daughters of people like me. I dont like the light up boom box and furry dice(pink) in my daughters car any more than she likes the Luke racing harness in my 300ZX. But we both love our cars . So what else matters??
  2. Well thats about 1hr 59 mins too long M8. Dont forget your passport BTW :D
  3. At a time when the forum is full of dumb ass polls its good to know that someone is out there actually doing something on a 300! And doing it scientifically too. Thanks Mate for the info, that was on my provisional list of thing to do. Its just been moved to "MUST DO" As you say there will be an increased use of the alternator to power the fan, but I bet it dont take 18BHP to run it!!!! Have you fitted it as a suck fan or as a blow fan???(no rude answers please!)
  4. Happy Birthday, dont work TOO hard!!!!!
  5. It would be highly interesting IF anyone went to the auction to post up some selling prices/basic model descriptions afterwards. Might give the forum some insight into current prices. Anyone???
  6. You certainly do mate...... If you are lookin for a Fridge with FSH :D
  7. I drive mine deep into the 7000s all the time at Santa Pod!I was doing 94mph last Sunday as I grabbed 4th gear over the line. And "sometimes" on "private "roads near home!!! I believe the phrase is "squeeze it till it squeeks"
  8. I can see more people getting together in the all new"Overthrow Macca Party" I reckon Madhamster n me outweigh Macca
  9. Sounds good to me.
  10. He's out there lookin in scrapyards for another gearbox!! :x: :nelson:
  11. First things first..... What EXACTLY have you had replaced??? The propshaft CARRIER bearing or a propshaft bearing?? Im assuming for the purposes of my answer that it is the propshaft Carrier bearing that you have had replaced. There are also Three cross-shaft type bearings in the prop itself in addition to the carrier bearing. All of these CAN and WILL wear especially the front one. And wear in these will give vibration. Replacement of these is EXTREMELY difficult as they are staked in not circlipped in. Replacement props are available in a variety of options . Starting from stock steel will ALL new joints of the fully replaceable circlip type. See MJP Eastern Auto in the traders section for details of these. TOTALLY DISAGREE. My local independant garage has done this propshaft job on my NA, competently and cost effectively. They are less than 100yds from where I work, so convenient too. They have done several other jobs on my NA too....power steering pump change, underdrive pulley fit, replace broken wheel stud etc. They also work on my Pug Diesel and my daughters Metro in the same efficient, friendly cost effective way. I fully support the subscribed traders on here. I am currently discussing an engine build with one of them and have spent many hundreds of pounds already with others, but it is not always neccessary or indeed possible to use them for all routine repair and servicing work. All the above of course.. IMHO. :D
  12. Chunk, there is NO Jap Show in July at da Pod mate! Its in JUNE, same as this year. JUNE 25th.And also Jap Show test day on the Satrday Jun 24th. Check yer nooo list in the Jap show program from last week.
  13. Not economically feasible is the real answer. I was the first SWB owner to buy a system off Blueflame Exhausts. Their website said they would modify the LWB version at no extra cost. So I bought one off e-bay and made an apintment for fitting. After about 20 minutes on the ramp the head fitter Ian came to see me and explained that it wasnt really feasible to modify the 2+2 system, so he set to and custom made one for me. IIRC they used a different back box(shorter) as well as the pipe run and bends being different. HTH
  14. Oh No!!! I feel an "OIL DEBATE" coming!!!   Someone call the OILMAN!!!
  15. Has anyone got this fitted??? If so what difference did it make??
  16. Well thank you Craig David for the kind words. It was indeed a good day, albeit busy!! Three runs on a show day is not a lot of time to get your act together but I did my best.. Was in the first 10 cars out to run and did a 15.09 Followed it with a 15.05 and then got it all together for a third run at 14.879. With a terminal of 93.74. Good launch saw a 2.11 sixty foot time too. A personal best this year, and I am well chuffed. :hyper: It was a great day allround AFAIC. Nice to hook up with the regulars and put names and faces together with a few new members. 2006 Season????? BRING IT ON! :D
  17. Chunk, we are getting there for 8am, is it best if we go get some runs in before parking up? Or are we meeting in the stand before we go run up the strip?
  18. Its just stopped here in Notts so Im gonna get them Kumhos on and have a little "practice razz". On a private industrial estate road of course. All the weather sites show dry tomorrow with low rain probability.
  19. Agreed 100% I have seen examples of the Legendary "Samuri" heads done by Spike Anderson for 240Zs. Each one a work of art created only by hours of work as well as the required skills and experience. Follow John's advice or do as I am currently doing and speak to Mark(Topless) at Zen garage on this forum.
  20. My NA runs happily on 95 octane. When I go to the Pod I use optimax or Esso 97 plus some additive.
  21. Even in 1996 the rot had set in... Sales were falling dramatically TOTAL Fairlady sales for 1996 were only 1220. Ie na/turbo together. The situation got worse... In DECEMBER 1997 the total for the month was only 40 cars. I dont know any figures for 98 or 99 but they were almost certainly worse than 1996. That makes the car under discussion pretty rare indeed in Britain. What a pity it isnt a version R or version S. But obviously its a lower spec one with tweed (not even velour) :smash: The pity too is its another lard ar$e 2+2 instead of a SWB :wack: But probably worth a look at that price. Have a look Scott??? Post up a report eh??? :)
  22. Well thats funny Mark, cos the Internet is FULL of SHite
  23. if you were using a white stick to get about with!!! :wack:
